We only stayed one night but the accommodation was very good and better than we expected. The room was large and clean and had a very large bathroom. We had dinner on site and the meal was great, very good Sri Lankan home cooking!

What a charming little place. We were so happy to have found this small family owned hotel. The owner was away in Australia but kept a very close eye on everything. Service and charm was excellent. Everything given & done for you always with a smile. We had dinner there as well, the food was Sri Lankan but not to spicy. Overseen by the owner’s sister. A delicious and different buffet was put on every night. Judging by the empty plates, I’m guessing the 6 other guests also enjoyed their food. Rooms and Bathroom were spotless. Everything you needed was catered for including mini-fridge, mosquito nets & a clothes horse to dry washing.

This place is a no frills hotel, with good service, decent food and very nice/friendly staff. They organised our safari to the nearby national park with an excellent local guide and were quick to trouble shoot any problems we had! Highlight of our stay here was all the fireflies that come out in the hotel grounds at nighttime!

Simply the best service - coordination of transfers to and from The Countryside as well as joining a group for morning safari. The basket of snacks before safari is a nice touch - followed by a generous and delicious local breakfast on return. Thank you Lahiru & staff!
