A completely unique hotel built into the jungle, but also directly on the beach. The restaurant offers a vegetarian menu, which I enjoyed very much. I also recommend taking advantage of the many activities on offer, including the snorkeling and dolphin watching. Our guide was very friendly and professional – cannot recommend him enough!

We had a wonderful room on the beach and well worth the extra we had to pay for the beach Chalet. For the first time on our travels we had half board and found the choices not that exciting . My wife is gluten intolerant and it was a little bit difficult to explain to the staff what is gluten intolerant. The choices were very limited unless you love salad. For breakfast the waiter brought a huge assortment of bread which we didn’t touch followed by huge tray of fruit that we only eat less than half. We asked them what they do with the food we didn’t eat and he said we throw it all out sir.Very sad that in a country that people are still not able to get much food, so much is being thrown out in the bin. That night at dinner we had a young Filipino guy who came to our table and told us that he was brought in from the Philippines to teach the staff of his knowledge that he has gained from other major hotels in other countries. He asked us if he could spend a bit of time with us and ask us questions about the hotel. We were delighted that we agreed as he was really interested and passionate to help train the staff with whatever information he could gather from us and other guests. We told him about the ridiculous amount of food being thrown out from every breakfast table and took on board what we talked about. We asked him to tell the staff to only bring the guests what they wanted to eat. We also mentioned a few other issues and of course the lack of Gluten options unlike a couple of other Uga properties. The next morning the waiter came over to our table and and asked us for our order and only brought to the table what we wanted. We left the table this morning without any waste on the table. Really impressive that this young Filipino gentleman listened to us and went about making changes straight away, also congratulations to the management for allowing him to do so. I hope the next time we come there will be more appetising dietary options for everyone and a lot less wastage. A first we have seen in Sri Lanka is the importance this hotel has made to cleaning up the beach and asking for locals and tourists for their help to keep it clean. They have a big sign board as you walk onto the beach explaining how this rubbish gets on the beach and the damage it causes to the environment and marine life. It also encourages the tourists to take a bag from the cabinet next to the sign and help pick up some plastic on their walk along the beach. Really commend the management for doing and taking a small but major step in trying to keep Sri Lanka and its beaches free of plastic. We will definitely return .

One-of-a-kind jungle experience in the East coast of Sri Lanka. The rooms are spacious and equipped with all amenities for a comfortable stay. The surrounding is amazing and has access to the beach which is clean and well-kept. Food is quite good and the service from front desk to the bell boy to the waiter is fabulous! The complimentary chocolates to the room made our stay more special :) Would recommend to anyone who visits Trinco.

Very nice location next to the beach in a jungle type setting. Lots of interesting animals as well. A bit far from other places so transportation is important. Very peaceful and scenic. Great to wind down for a few days. Sunrise setting is magnificent. Lots of care shown by staff , I forgot to lock my safe. The cleaners alerted management who locked the room . When we returned they informed us about the matter. I checked the room and everything was fine. Management also came to our room within a few minutes to make sure everything was ok. As we stayed for six nights I felt that the two rooms we had needed a deep clean as we were starting to get more insects in the rooms by the end of day three. They took the matter really seriously and arranged a deep clean for both rooms. Breakfast is really nice with a huge platter and a la carte but there’s a bit too much food wastage. The hotel have recognised this and are introducing a buffet type system. All day menu options were a bit bland , eg chicken wings , pizza and burgers and need some work to improve the standard. The set evening meal which we had once was very nice with both local and international dishes. Activities in the area such as Pigeon Island and Dolphin watching are fantastic. My wife and daughter used the spa facilities and really enjoyed the experience. Spa prices are reasonable. All staff are very friendly and customer focussed.

We stayed 2 nights and I must say that was the ultimate experience I needed. They have a very rich menu including kids meals. Meals were mainly based on sea food but there are other options as well. It's a paradise for seafood lovers. Staff was very attentive and good with kids. Pleasant. Evening walks in beach, kid had good time in playing with sands. We really enjoyed and worth the second visit.

We went as a family group. Stayed in the triple villa with its own pool. The rooms and bathrooms were clean and very comfortable. The best part of the hotel was the food and service. The sorbets and ice creams were excellent, and the staff were very attentive.

We had 4 day relaxing in the lovely hotel set on a secluded beach that has stunning sun rises. There was a small mix up with the rooms but that was addressed by the Assistant Manager personally and promptly. We recommend lunch at the Beach Bar which is cooked to order in front of you. The main restaurant serves excellent food also.
