Rice Rice Villas has been a mixed experience and in summary extremely negative. We arrived in the evening and we were unable to reach the structure as the last part of the avenue, about 150 meters away, was an impassable road for the minivan that accompanied us. The next morning at 5:30 we had to leave to visit the Yala N.P. In spite we had the breakfast included, it was not provided as a basket, as is customary, but they gave it to us at 12 o'clock after we went back. Not too bad. The place is beautiful, so far so good. But we didn't have dinner there, also because they don't have a particolar menu to offer. On the morning of our departure from the hotel, they loaded our bags onto a tuc tuc and brought them where the minivan would collect us with the driver who accompanied us. Up to here all Ok. Boarding the minivan, the owner of the structure, who had waited with us, approached the driver threateningly, a very polite person who always accompanied us impeccably, and attacked him heavily in front of us, complaining that this was to give him 250 rupees ( little more than a euro!) because they had to bring our bags to him because he had not entered with his vehicle to the end. Obviously he could not, because the entrance road was narrow, closed by bushy vegetation and would have crawled the vehicle. Then we realized that the owner of Rice Rice Villas accused him of having taken us to dinner where he wanted and made us go on safari with his friends. All was false, they were decision taken only by us. For a moment we feared the worst, I tried to think of personally intervening or offering money immediately to calm the owner, who took them and somehow went grunting. This is the reason for our very negative final judgment.…
Spent one night at Rice Rice Villa’s in order to do a leopard safari in Yala National Park. Wish we would have spent two nights here simply to enjoy the “zen” feeling that Rice Rice offers. Fabulous sleeping quarters, wonderful dinner (fried chicken and rice- price not included), and fantastic sir Lankan breakfast all prepared by the wonderful host family. More of an isolated location but a perfect space to take in the beauty that surrounds. Loved being in the nature and hearing the sounds of evening/nighttime creatures. Highly recommend a stay at Rice Rice Villas.
We arrive around 8h pm after a long safari. We were exhausted and Asanka took special care of us immediately. He prepared a delicious fried rice with chicken. The quantity of rice was incredible. Having this dinner in the roof top surrounded just by nature and silence, transported us in a zen mood. We slept in our charming cabanas, very comfortable. You are taking a shower and you can see the stars. Then, you wake up in the morning and you enjoy a terrific breakfast : the hoppers are so good. Everything is made with love by Asanka's wife. Then, you can "burn" calories in the swimming pool, surrounded by palms and rice fields. You absolutely forget everything as the nature and the silence are the kings. We wish to be back again. Take us to Rice Rice Villas again, please.
Rice rice villa is an amazing place to spend your vacation with your friends or family. There is a lovely environment, a swimming pool, A/C rooms and more. I highly recommend this place for both local and foreign guests
We stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed out stay! The bungalows are spacious and clean. The swimming pool was so nice after the safari that was arranged by the hotel for us. Nice outdoor bathroom! Good breakbeats! Nice people run the place!
