We stayed in the Southern Comfort cabin. It was perfect. We had a wonderful weekend, I wish we could have stayed another day. The cabin was clean and comfy. We loved the hot tub and sitting out by the lake. My wife really enjoyed feeding the turtles! We had a great time and will be back.
Beautiful cabin not far from town. The cabin is very nice and clean. The bed is very comfortable. My husband enjoyed fishing on the private pond. We both enjoyed the hot tub. It is very secluded. Not having to check in/out was a bonus. Would highly recommend. Can't wait to come back.
Excellent place for a relaxing weekend. Relaxing and has everything you need. We loved watching and feeding the turtles in the pond and the birds. It's clean, well taken care of, and quiet. We have stayed here in the past and will again in the future.
This place was wonderful. We have stayed in many cabins like this and by far this was the best. The cabin itself was extremely nice and updated. We went in the winter and had the whole property to ourselves. The views were amazing. We saw a lot of deer, heard coyotes while hanging out in the hot tub and saw a ton of stars. The price was more than reasonable. Can't wait to go back and try some of the different cabins.
This was our fourth time staying at the southern comfort cabin and I'm sure we will be back. Beautiful scenery, very calm and peaceful. Perfect place to rest and relax. Only a few complaints. There is no wifi, tv is very small and we had issues with the toilet running. But other than that very happy with our experience.
We have been visiting these cabins since 2006! We always feel like we are going home when we go go there! They are definitely the best in the area! The owners have thought of every detail for your comfort! What else can I say. Love it here!!
Such a nice place! Exceeded my already high expectations. Cabins are very well appointed, super clean and comfortable. Enjoyed the fire pit, hot tub, and feeding the turtles. We can’t wait to come back. This served as home base for the wine trail, but actually wish we had spent more time hanging out in the cabin.
Beautiful cabin, love the quiet, the windows face the woods giving you a beautiful peaceful feeling. Nice large deck, everything you need if you want to cook and stay longer. A washer/dryer available. Very close to town, so easy to run in for whatever you need. This is a place we hope to return to in the future.
My husband and I spent an amazing week at Woodland Cabins', White Tail cabin. This cabin offered wonderful seclusion on a lovely pond and surrounded by trees. All of the amenities provided with available fire wood for the fantastic firepit, kitchen and cooking necessities, a gas grill perfect for two, paper products, and a washer/dryer combo with laundry pods, too. The cabin itself was very clean and inviting, and felt very homey and lovingly cared for. On the very first day we arrived, my husband read the guest book and found out that the pond had turtles. He spent at least twice, sometimes three times a day, feeding the turtles. Each morning and evening we enjoyed listening to and watching the birds, watching the squirrels bounce through the trees, and seeing the occasional deer. We also loved being able to stroll around the pond, one evening, after dinner. Every evening we loved having dinner at the table and chairs, on the back deck. Cooking out dogs, brats, s'mores, and glazed donuts with the fire pit, burgers on the grill, or even just sandwiches made for very little clean up and tons of quality time, together. We only had the television on for about ten minutes, the entire week, because we spent most of our time outside. At almost 20 years of marriage, we felt like we did on our honeymoon. Most of our days were spent exploring Southern Illinois by taking drives, a little hiking, and of course a little shopping. These cabins are so close to anything you might need or want to do. And the hiking, made going back to the cabin to enjoy the amazing hot tub all the better. We spent every evening, enjoying the hot tub and nature. On our very last day, we got lucky enough to meet Jim, the owner, who was very friendly and gracious. My husband and I are very much looking forward to staying at Woodland Cabins, in the future, and maybe even trying out all of the cabins as money and vacation time allows.…
Woodland cabins is a great place to stay! Very quite and private. Near all locations you want to visit. Jim was very helpful when we needed to reschedule our booking. Great to have all of the firewood for your firepit. Will definitely be back again!
