We stayed the night to break up a long drive. The room we had was beautiful and cozy. The grounds and surrounding area look spacious and well kept, perfect for family gatherings. We'd love to book a family reunion there!

After looking at numerous venues in the area to host a wedding with many guest traveling from all corners of the US, my daughter chose to have her wedding at Spragues Lodge where most of the guest stayed, actually filling the place to capacity. I do not have the vocabulary to express my sincere thank yous for the wonderful staff at Spragues Lodge. Andy and Pat were gracious host, Wendy and Mary prepared succulent coffee cakes (yes home made daily) every morning, and prepared a "Feast fit for a King" for the wedding reception. (You MUST have them make their home made dinner roles) The entire staff worked tirelessly and appeared effortlessly to ensure that all guest needs were met.
I would highly reccomend this venue for corporate retreats, family reunions and of course weddings and I am pretty darn sure if you are looking for the "Big Bucks" white tail hunting in Pike County you are at the right spot.
I sincerely want to express many many "Thank yous" to the Spragues and their wonderful staff.

We recently had a family reunion at the Lodge. Staff was great. Food delicious and much better than take out. Rooms are very clean. Towels and sheets in excellent condition. The location is relaxing and in a beautiful setting. The patio is perfect for a cup of coffee in the morning.

Our family recently enjoyed a stay at the lodge. Andy and Mrs. Sprague were gracious hosts and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed.
The lodge has a few difference buildings, a large deck, patios and trails. It’s not uncommon to see birds, deer and other animals given the location.
Our suite was roomy, with a nice view, comfortable beds and linens. It was a warm, peaceful place to relax and rest.

Andy and Pat have a top notch operation. The food was great and the accommodations were beautifully appointed. The staff was kind, generous and helpful, going out of their way to make you feel like family. Whether you are booking a retreat, a girls weekend or just looking for a quiet place to relax, Sprague's is the place to go. We can't wait to go back again next year!

This place is amazing and wonderful! Just celebrated my husbands daughters wedding here this weekend. A great place for family and friends to gather. There are accommodations for all of your guests to arrive and spend the weekend together. There are several different room arrangements to fit everyone's needs. The owners and staff are so friendly and welcoming. The grounds are picturesque. Colorful sunsets amongst the tall cornfields. Country home cooked meals are prepared by Wendy and Mary, and they give it their all in the kitchen. Waking up to the aroma of succulent cherry turnovers to delicate mouth watering biscuits. They can prepare any meal your palette can desire. Only a 4.5 hour drive from Chicago. If you are looking for an escape from the big city to a lifestyle of relaxation, beauty and down home hospitality book your reservations today for your next event, you won't be disappointed. Thank you from the bottom of my heart Pat and Andy for a flawless weekend.

Beyond expectations. Wonderful people. Wonderful setting. Wonderful food. The workroom for quilting was unbelievable! They thought of everything: cutting tables at just the right height, huge wide ironing boards with top-of-the-line irons, cutting mats and rulers. We sewed morning, afternoon, and night and accomplished so much. Time went so quickly. We felt so spoiled as they came to get us for our meals at the homestead. The food was delicious and a visual treat. Everyone in our group registered again for next year. Our trip planner now books three retreats a year at Kinderhook, and all trips are completely full.

I am fortunate to be able to experience "quilt heaven" aka Sprague's Kinderhook Lodge. The entire staff is friendly and attentive. It is definitely a family experience when you are there. The food is delicious, the presentation is "eye candy", and if you need or want something special, every effort is made to meet your request. Thank you, Wendy, for the lemon cookies and ham sandwiches. The bedrooms are very comfortable and inviting, and the downstairs rec. room is great for watching tv or just sitting, relaxing and chatting. The sewing room meets any quilter's need - great lighting, irons, ironing boards and cutting mats provided, and more electrical outlets than a roomful of quilters could ever need. The large windows provide wonderful natural lighting, and views that are always interesting (you sometimes can't count all the deer that you will see). Hannibal and Quincy are very close so if you need a "quilt store break", you need only drive a few minutes to either city. Thank you to the Sprague Family and staff for creating such an inviting place; I look forward to my next visit.

"The rooms on the top two floors have balconies which allow better viewing of the deer. The rooms on the bottom floor are the quietest and darkest for sleeping in."
"There are no bad rooms at Kinderhook. If your quilt group includes some night owls, the rooms on the bottom floor allow you to sleep while the night owls continue laughing and sewing."
