No detail or expense spared. From Miami there are a few options to go to Bahamas by boat. Closest Bimini and Cat Cay (Private). Bimini has the new resort and the old town and lots of Miami people. Cat Cay is private with beautiful homes but not much frills. Next stop Chub Cay. 5000 ft airstrip, 150 mile from Miami. We flew in with tropicair out of Ft Lauderdale. Water maker air also an option. Customs and immigration quick, friendly and painless (unlike Bimini) The beachfront villas are exceptional. Double door bedrooms looking out towards the water. Outdoor private hot water shower on your private terrace connected also through indoor shower. King sized bed, slept great. Large bathroom and bar. Under $300 a night (no bs resort fees) The owner of the island must have spent $100 mil on the place and another $10 mil + a year to maintain. Landscaping was beautiful with millions of flowers in bloom. Wait I only paid $300 a night and the food and booze were as good and same price as in the USA with over 50 in staff to attend to my every need. Drinks were under $10, breakfast around $10, lunch around $15, dinner around $25. Go to a Bahamian grocery and try to make this quality for the same price.... Club house, food , staff 1st class. Shout out to Carlton for making the conch salad dream happen. Maybe 50 homes on the island. All top end. Spa opens June 15. After reading previous response from boater, they are almost done brand new wash center and showers on the Marina. Thank you!!!

We stayed a few days in the marina to wait our weather and, while on the pricey end for our sailing budget, we approached it as a resort stay and had a wonderful time. The staff were warm, friendly and very accommodating. Rye at the front desk was friendly from the first call to the check out and always professional but friendly foremost. The dock staff were calm and competent! Daniel was great and the docks were clean, and very well serviced. The pool and the jacuzzi were always clean and well maintained and fresh towels no problem. The resort restaurant was AWESOME! The Chubby Burger was OUTSTANDING. I also love the crab-stuffed lobster tail and the crab cake sliders, but the burger was simply outstanding!!! (Yes, three exclamation points). Bottom line, this is a high end resort. If you are sailing on a budget, probably not a good stop for you. If you want a higher end papmering experience, then this is great

For years we have been stopping at Chub Cay in our sailing catamaran. It has always been inviting and the people friendly. Unfortunately, the new owner is now running it like a closed military compound. Our friends were rudely told by security guards that they could not even come to the island to walk their dogs. My husand loved to play pool with the locals at the employee bar. We were told to stay out. In an attempt to enjoy ourselves we paid $180.00 for a slip, only to find out they had no showers or laundry facilities. That night, we went to Roosters, the employee bar and was told they had no house wine, however, they could provide a bottle. He rudely brought a bottle and charged us $100.00. When we asked to see a breakdown of the bill, he was rude again. Interesting enough, our credit card was compromised, used and rejected in Georgia a few days after. Never again.

Dear @Saildowntown/Jimmy B, We would like to thank you for taking the time to draft a review. 1. Chub Cay and its {not so} new owners pride themselves in providing a hospitable environment to all paid and registered guests. In fact, we are so welcoming that we do not have any proclaimed "security guards" on staff. 2. Chub Cay loves dogs! Just not owners who allow them to produce waste all over the facilities without cleaning up after them, as in your "friend's" case. 3. If you and your friends had reviewed our clearly defined and fair transient guest policy as posted to our website and social media platforms, or simply radioed the marina on channel 68 before illegally trespassing via dingy, this never would have occurred. 4. We are about two weeks away from the completion of our marina shower and laundry facilities. 5. As far the the Nauti Rooster goes, it is, as you so eloquently described, an "employee bar." There is no house wine, instead, the bartender offered you a selection of four different wines. You chose the most expensive bottle. Looking through your receipts from the day in question, we noticed that you were able to also enjoy a cheeseburger for $10, cracked conch for $12, along with several Kaliks at $2.25. We created the Nauti Rooster with the intention to provide great food and cold drinks for both employees and guests to enjoy, in a casual and affordable environment. 6. We have had the privilege of serving more than a quarter of a million registered guests since opening, and have never encountered a complaint of a credit card compromise. In all seriousness, we hope that you visit us again when the transient guest season is reopened from August 1st - December 1st. We are all for honest reviews to improve on our service. However, outright false or misleading statements as seen in your post, is not helpful to us or the public. Let us show you the actual Chub Cay, that all registered and paying guests are able to enjoy. Smooth Sailings, Chub Cay Resort & Marina Management

Went with friends and stayed at the Marina. Planned on 3 nights and turned into more ... due to weather restrictions crossing back to mainland. Not a bad place to be stuck. Nice amenities, pool, shower, restaurant, nice Long Beach front, and spa. Went to the restaurant many times and all the food was excellent. We brought our own wines ... so all in all great dining. Mango daiquiri is how I measure a good island bar .... 10 !! Spa was a bonus. They’ve turned one of the Casitas into a small massage room and Cheryl does a magnificent job. Highly recommend for the marina or for a place to just get lost in ... small but big.

We have visited many Islands in the Bahamas for several years but Chub Cay was the nicest and by far the cleanest and most well maintained! I applaud the service from Danny, the Dockmaster, to Rhett the transportation manager who gave us an amazing golf cart tour of the Island. I highly recommended the resort, including the infinity pool, the swim up bar or the pristine marina. It doesn’t get any better than this!
