The Hansen Guest Ranch is located along the banks of Rainey Creek and offers western-style accommodations in one and two-bedroom suites, cabins and cottages. Start off each morning with a full sit-down breakfast and then venture off to the river or the trails for an outstanding day of recreation and adventure. For visitors who want to explore outside the Swan Valley area, Jackson Hole is only 43 miles away and the west and south entrances to Yellowstone National Park are 90 miles from the ranch. Championship golf courses are just 19 miles up the hill in the communities of Victor and Driggs, and if you want to enjoy a day at the hot springs, Heise is just down the road. Guests also are welcome just to hang out here at the ranch to read and relax in the hammock or play tennis and croquet or throw horseshoes. A full outdoor cooking area, including a fire pit, oven, range, BBQ grills and smokers, is available for your use for lunches and dinners, too.

Detailed Reviews
The Hansen Guest Ranch is an amazing place to stay. Clean comfortable accommodations-it is best classified as a B&B since the cabins are really like hotel rooms and have limited meal prep options.
Our host made breakfast every morning after that you are on your own. You cannot prepare a healthy lunch or dinner in your room. That would be fine if there were dining options in the town center-there are a frw, none very good and due to staffing shortages you can't count on them being open. That leaves the general store so if you are ok with sandwiches you're golden but after 5 days it gets old. There ate outdoor grills available but limited storage for grocer to plan a meal

Coming from southern California, I wanted to see exactly what winter conditions were like in Swan Valley, and was surprised as to how mild the temperatures were for late February. A neighbor had X-country ski gear for me to borrow and snow shoes also were available at the ranch. Brought silks, mittens, thermals and boots and actually was quite comfortable. Accommodations were excellent and individual temperature controls allowed me to set the heat to a comfortable setting for day as well as night time.

We enjoyed 2 days in the beautiful Swan Valley, at the Hansen Guest Ranch. The accommodations included a delicious and hearty breakfast. The cabin we stayed in was spacious, nicely appointed and a deck on the front and rear of the cabin. I took advantage of the south facing deck with my cup of coffee, and west facing deck in the afternoon, taking in the beautiful vistas.
Fall fly fishing on the Snake River was the added bonus, and the the burst of fall colors at every turn while drifting down the river.

We loved our stay here. Girl’s week in Idaho and it was perfect. Our 2 BR cabin was very clean and just right for the two of us. Beautiful grounds to walk around. Nancy and Jim were great hosts that made a wonderful breakfast every morning (omelets, quiche, blueberry pancakes, etc.). Ollie and Kota ( pups) were also great “hosts”. Don’t mind the initial welcome barking, just letting you know they are there. We visited Grand Tetons, Yellowstone and many of small local towns. We will definitely stay there again when we are in that area.

We did not have any reservations for the weekend of September 18th. We drove out from California and did not realize how busy the area would be with hunting and fall colors. Big mistake on our part. But we were welcomed and it was the best part of our trip. Beautiful property, wonderful hosts and an amazing breakfast. We will be back. We are looking to buy new construction in the area and this will be a property we will be staying at during the process. Our hosts were the best!

Wonderful owners, peaceful remote ranch on the way to Yellowstone or Grand Teton parks.
Grateful for privacy and tranquility, our dogs loved it too!
Accommodations are comfortable clean and spacious.
Breakfast is very hearty and filling!
Some vegetarian options would be a wonderful addition.

My wife and I revisited Hansen Guest Ranch in September of 2018 and enjoyed the hospital of the owners Ann and Jim Walsh. The scenery is beautiful and so relaxing and the breakfast cooked by the host is outstanding with new offerings each morning. I have never tasted better grits. The rooms in the old barn are our favorite, so beautifully decorated and super clean. There is plenty to do in the area from fishing to hiking and horse back riding. But what we enjoy the most is the feeling of serenity the Guest Ranch inspires. We are booking again in 2019.

The owners were very pleasant and it was a truly wonderful place to stay. You could feel the love and care they have put into their home away from home. The surrounding area was close to many activities and just a short ride to the Snake River.

Yes, we have enough out land area where you could place your dog truck away from the lodging accommodations where it will not impact the other guests or activities on the property. Ponds are not lines and subject to water levels based upon the flows of Rainey Creek and the potential irrigation diversions at that time of year. If we can provide other information, please contact us at your convenience.
