Detailed Reviews
A very clean and well kept Manor house with lots of charm and a friendly Hostess. Comfortable accommodations and delicious food. Small town near beautiful hikes and scenic drives through national forests. St Joe River is also very picturesque. Would recommend!

I was going to Idaho to be in a friends wedding and his parents put several of us up this very nice bed and breakfast during our stay. Gigi, our host, was very nice and warmed the room with her smile. But it didn't stop there! She also has an extensive knowledge of the 3 story house, the unique materials used during the building and an eye for pointing out the little things that the normal person might pass up. Most everything in the house has been restored back to it's original condition, circa 1910
The gourmet breakfast was always incredible and fixed from scratch. Let her know any dietary needs and she'll cook to order. We had a selection of coffee, orange or tomato juice, and milk. Gigi is a great chef!
The accomodations were nice as well. Of the four bedrooms there is one with a king sized bed and it's own bathroom and claw foot tub with classic turn of the century furnishings. The remaining three rooms share a full sized modern bathroom with shower in the hallway. Of the other three rooms, two have queen sized beds and the last one has two twin beds. All are tastefully decorated, the room is made up in the morning and turned down at night. At night there is a bottle of water, home made cookies, and a mint waiting for you.
The house sits up on a hill and the scenery from the wrap around porch is beautiful. Sit out there on the wicker furniture or wooden swing or you can ust hang out in the parlor and read a book. Gigi is always ready to jump into a conversation if asked, but knows when to give her guests some alone time.
Gigi told us about it's local spirit resident, Fred Hemenway. Fred has been hanging around since he passed away some time ago and Gigi assured us that he was harmless. Myself and another wedding party member did experience the front door closing and the deadbolt locking as we approached. We knocked and Gigi came out of the back room and assured us that it was Fred just having a little fun. She told him to behave and the rest of our stay was very peaceful and spiritually uneventful.
This B&B is located near the center of town and easily accessible to the surrounding areas and Heyburn State Park.

We highly recommend Hemenway Manor for your next stay in St. Maries. The Manor is centrally located to downtown and Gig, your hostess, is most helpful with the area businesses, also the history of the area. You will be most pleased with her great breakfasts, spotless B&B with an interesting mix of eclectic furnishings and art. Gigi provides the top of the line snacks in each room with a most comfortable bed. We will definitely stay there when we need to be in St. Maries again.

We recently stayed at the Hemenway Manor and experienced elegant surroundings with a great and informative hostess. The manor was built in the late 1800's and has been restored and updated. The furnishings are beautiful but comfortable antiques but the manor has all the needed 21st century amenities--wifi etc. the best part is the hostess. She has a wealth of information about the area, the history of the town and manor, and has traveled the world and is a great storyteller. The manor is immaculately clean but comfortable and breakfast was delicious.
