I had to be in St. Maries for work and a friend recommended I stay here. I had flown into Spokane at 8pm and then had an hour and a half drive to St. Maries. Val was gracious when I arrived and I had not had time to stop for food because it was late and dark and nothing was open. She offered me a wonderful bowl of homemade soup and a slice of pie as well as a glass of wine. It was the best! There was no one else staying at the B&B that night and I was treated to a wonderful breakfast in the morning before I headed off to my work meetings. The view from my room and the house were beautiful. It was well worth the price and the food and hospitality were above and beyond my expectations. Thank you Val! I would highly recommend staying here for work or pleasure :)
We enjoyed our stay with Cary and Val. The St. Joe is everything the other reviewers say. It does feel more like you're in somebody's home, rather than a 'hotel'-type experience, and that's fine. The breakfasts were good, and the beds were comfortable. One small negative - the TV was constantly blaring, which contributed to the feeling of being in someone else's space. Thanks for a great stay.
It was our anniversary, and we wanted to stay somewhere we'd never been before. The beautiful fountain was our first greeting as we entered the driveway. It was August, and the St. Joe was a picturesque treat, both to view and to experience. Our room was country-elegant, and all the accommodations were wonderfully quaint and tasteful, as well as fully functional. Breakfast was Cary's specialty--stuffed French toast! We enjoyed our delightful meal in the dining area, a sun room set at a perfect temperature. It was fun to get a wee tour of their lovely vegetable garden. Our hosts were not only accommodating, thoughtful, and gracious, but they made us feel like family. We can't wait to go back!
The St. Joe Riverfront B&B is my favorite place to stay when visiting family in Northern Idaho. Val and Cary are so warm and inviting and make a fantastic breakfast! Their home and views are beautiful and relaxing. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated, and I love waking up to the views. I especially enjoyed the special evening treats that were left for me after a long day.
We really enjoyed staying at St. Joes Riverfront B&B. For us it was quiet and relaxing. And we enjoyed visiting with Val and Cary. Got my reading done in the evening in their lovely great room and enjoyed exploring the area during the day. Really enjoyed our ride on the Trail of the Ceour d'Alene. Felt like a home away from home.
