We only chose this B&B because we had an early flight our of Idaho Falls the next morning and wanted something close to the airport but outside of IF...I'm so glad we did! The lodge is just beautiful. The great room overlooking the river had cathedral ceilings and matching windows. It's a beautiful room with a fireplace, sumptuous seating and beautifully furnished, as is every part of this lodge. Our large bedroom had a veranda overlooking the river and was also beautifully decorated and had a walk-in closet! The breakfast room is also a lovely, light, airy room with coffee, tea, popcorn etc. to help yourself during the day or evening. Breakfast is a treat there. Dennis made us a delicious and beautifully presented meal. There is another delightful area upstairs with a library space, a seating area and a games area. All very inviting and tastefully decorated. I would come here just for a weekend to sit and watch the river, relax and unwind...it's that lovely! We didn't meet Sandra as we got in late and left early but she was very nice on the phone. The lodge is very close to a photo worthy old iron railway bridge and we saw fisherman catching trout beneath the bridge. In the morning we saw a moose come down to the river to drink and we saw a bald eagle waiting on a log by the river to catch fish!

The lodge is only 20 minutes from Idaho Falls on the freeway.

I would highly recommend this B&B for a relaxing stay with a beautiful view, an elegant and thoughtfully decorated lodge and rooms and close proximity to Idaho Falls or the I15 north to Yellowstone and Montana.

If you are anywhere within 50-100 miles of Rigby, Idaho, give yourself the gift of a night at the amazing Blue Heron Inn Bed and Breakfast! Situated in a rural area just north of the small agricultural town of Rigby (and only about 20 minutes drive north of Idaho Falls) the Blue Heron Inn is directly on the shore of the Snake River with an unbelievable view of a gorgeous wetland and wildlife habitat. Choose any of the seven comfy rooms, take advantage of the well-equipped and beautiful living room, with high ceilings, stone fireplace, magnificent views and comfortable furnishings. There are also game rooms, library/reading rooms, patio seating or large dining room/kitchen well stocked with coffee, tea, cocoa, popcorn and maybe even freshly baked cupcakes!
Breakfast was freshly made Dutch baby with choice of syrups, sausage, home fries, fresh juices and coffee- truly gourmet!
The sunrise over the river, seen from our balcony was breathtaking. Water birds visiting the area included the iconic blue heron and we were told that often a moose has been seen grazing along the riverfront property.
The hosts are warm and welcoming and have a deep love for this beautiful area.
Please do yourself a huge favor and consider this lovely place! I know you'll be as amazed as we were!

This B&B is outstanding. The hosts are wonderful. The coffee and breakfast are wonderful and the setting on the Snake River is beautiful. This is a short drive off the I-15 so easily manageable, e.g., for snowbirds passing through.

This is an amazing place. We have stayed at B and Bs around the world and this place deserves a spot in the top tier. If you like to hike there are some great trails within an hour after beautiful drives - legs palisades, grand targee and many more

The owners, Dennis and Sandy, were very lovely and went out of their way to make our stay very enjoyable. The property is absolutely beautiful in an outstanding setting along the Snake River. The breakfast prepared by Sandy was just perfect! Our rooms were nicely appointed and found the bedding and beds to be top notch. Also, A+++ for cleanliness! The entire home was so nicely decorated by Sandy and the grounds were equally great. Wish we were able to stay longer. We plan to come back!

We stayed August 1st one night. We were in King Suite with private balcony. The room is spacious and beautiful. We saw deer, a moose, golden eagle from balcony. The breakfast was good. I just wish you can order like plain eggs. We dont do onions, peppers. I would stay here again if in area.

Let me begin by saying I've never written a review for anything. Our stay at the Blue Heron Inn changed that.

We recently stayed at the inn in both the Mallard and Blue Heron Suite rooms. Enjoyed both rooms but when we return again we will stay in the Blue Heron Suite because of the larger private balcony. We sat on the balcony for hours watching the eagles and osprey soar over the river. We were treated to six deer running across the back lawn. The river setting is both beautiful and relaxing.

Loved the check in process. You arrive to find an envelope with your name taped to the front door. Simple, clear, and exact directions tell you where your room is. We were in our room within minutes of arriving. No waiting at a reception desk. No hassling with a credit card. Easiest check in we've ever experienced. Marriott could learn from these folks.

The morning breakfast is homemade. You don't have a selection, but don't need one. Each morning breakfast is different and exceptional. Better than most restaurants. Personalized service and friendly interaction with the owners.

The facility is simply delightful. We'd give it six stars if we could.

We were so pleased to be able to stay here on a trip to Yellowstone. We stayed here on the way home. The Blue Heron suite is fantastic. Extremely comfortable bed, great view with nice balcony and beautiful decor. The entire Inn is wonderful, beautifully decorated and so comfortable. A lovely common room downstairs adjacent to the dining room. We try to stay exclusively at B&B's and this is now one of our favorites. We met some folks from Arizona who stayed here on a fly fishing trip. They loved the place as well and thoroughly enjoyed the fishing. Hoping to return one day. Thank you!

My fiancee and I booked the Blue Heron for one night during a cross country trip with our small dog. The building and grounds were lovely and the setting was amazing, but we weren't able to enjoy anything about this place because of how poorly we were treated for bringing our dog.

This place is advertised on hotels.com as being "pet friendly," yet when we arrived around 9pm and checked into our room, we saw a sign that indicated that pets were absolutely not allowed. The next morning, we met the caretakers and immediately told them that we had a dog with us. Dennis was very friendly, but Sandy was extremely rude. Rather than acknowledging that there was a misunderstanding, she blamed us. She repeated that dogs were absolutely not allowed, chastised us for booking through any site but her own and made us remove our dog from the building. We then ate breakfast with our dog in the car and tried to make the best of the situation by quickly getting ready so we could walk our pup around the beautiful grounds. As I went to get the luggage from the room, my fiancee got the dog from the car and began walking him around. Sandy then came out specifically to tell her to keep him away from the building and walk him out in a field that was about 50 yards away, nowhere near the river or scenery that were a major draw for us to stay there in the first place. We couldn't believe how rude she was, as if our 30-pound, well behaved dog could do any damage to her precious property. We immediately got the hell out of there. I chose not to write this review until a couple weeks later, as I was pretty angry and thought that perhaps Sandy would send us some kind of note after we left in such a rush. Well, she did... it was a form letter inviting us to rate them on tripadvisor, so here you go!

It doesn't matter how nice a hotel is if you don't feel welcome or in this case, feel completely ostracized. There are plenty of options in the area, so I urge you to spend your money elsewhere and not give it to Sandy.
