We have been here 3 times reciently and visited for years. First week of Sept. Current owners just keep improving the Resort. Cabins are period style and comfortable. Well maintained. Full amenties, Lodging, marina, great restaurant. Not so modern as others on the Lake which makes it a classic "Lake Cabin" feel. Long beach area with the Red Chairs. Every employee we met was friendly and helpfull. Already booked for 2022. Staff said they have been full all summer 2021 and also have nearly full winter reservations.

Sleep Quality
Room Tip: Really not a bad choice among the 29 cabins. A Deck is nice, not all have one.

Elkins clearly relies on the majestic beauty of its location when setting its prices because if rates were based on the facility, they would be out of business. Rustic and charming are too generous a description for the dilapidated cabin #30. The resort simply has not kept-up nor put-up necessary renovations and updates. The fireplace was a nice feature and the wood supply was generous and appreciated but upon closer inspection, the old stonework was cracked and dirty. An in-adequate chimney flue often created a smoky room if the logs were not shoved back enough. I expected WiFi, but apparently only some cabins have WiFi, you guessed right, not cabin#30. No worries, my phone worked fine. I just would have liked to have known that up front. In the kitchen, the second-hand -looking toaster didn't work without the help of a rubber band and the kitchen lacked a dishwasher which also was not communicated during the booking. In the master bedroom a queen bed occupied the entire room without even a foot-step of room to squeeze into either side of the bed. In the tiny second bedroom, the full sized bed blocked the door closing without repositioning. The linens were tired but clean and the toilet barely flushed in this very basic cabin. In spite of all of that, we had a relaxing, lovely time. The restaurant was good and the service attentive. I hope they take some of that summer cash and reinvest into this very special property.

I can't say enough good things about this place. But if you haven't been all I will say is, if you don't understand you'll never know. Elkins creates the best atmosphere. From the friendly staff to the food you will dream about... Elkins has it all. Just one staff member that made our families week so memorable had to be Ethan. He was attentive. We found out later he was the manager!!!! He kept checking in with us the rest of the week! He was kind and really made us feel at home. The entire staff we interacted with was so kind and helpful. They were trained incredibly well and I just think Elkins is an amazing place. I will continue comm I ng back for years to come. THANK YOU ETHAN. YOU WERE GREAT.

Our family stayed for two nights with our new puppy on 4th of July weekend and it was so amazing. The front desk staff were wonderful and let us check in a little early since our cabin was ready. We stayed in cabin #30 which is lake front and one of the cabins farthest from the resort. It is just a short walk to anything and the beach with lounge chairs was just steps away. We liked that the end cabins were a little quieter and less people walking by. We would highly recommend anyone to book a vacation here and we are looking forward to staying again next year!

We were so excited to spend our 10-year anniversary at Elkins and they did not disappoint. The lakeside setting and mountain views are absolutely breathtaking, the cabins are cozy, clean, quiet, well maintained and comfortably appointed. Their staff are so professional and friendly, they made us feel welcome. And the restaurant! One of the best dining experiences we've had in a very long time -- it was just perfection. We can't wait to go back and spend more time there for our next vacation.
