The cabins were beautiful and comfortable. Staff was incredible, and gave every one of our group outstanding service. The food was out of this world. And what can you say about the views - wow doesn't quite cover how beautiful they were.
front desk staff welcoming and efficient. Dock staff person was very helpful and well informed. Cabin was clean and had everything one would need. quiet and calm. love the sound of the creek. we will be back in the spring. we have stayed at least 6 times
We have stayed at Elkin's, many times over the years and love coming back. The cabins are very nice and comfortable. We had a fire, most of the time and they kept bringing the firewood. The restaurant is excellent and they have a nice gift shop. This is the perfect location to enjoy the lake and get out on the water.
Our regular retreat place each year. Best part is the Cabin Lodging rather than in a Condo or shared living arrangement. This is real Lake Cabin relaxing. Unfortunally this year the restaurant breakfast was not available due to labor issues. Hoping it will return in the futukre soon. We find that the entire property is well maintained and clean a sign of involved qwners. Seems each year they commit capital to maintaining and improving the Resort.
We rented a cabin on a beautiful little creek. The cabin was so comfortable and had everything we needed. Bed was fantastic. Everything clean, friendly service and good food at the restaurant. Only complaint...we could not check in for over an hour because they were removing a tree by our cabin. Also they started up the chainsaws at 8 in the morning. We like to sleep in, so that was annoying but hey, we were in a forest so I guess that's part of the deal. All staff friendly and efficient. Food a little pricey but good.
Location, location, location. We've been visiting Priest Lake for decades, and for a time spet a week each summer in our tent trailer at the adjacent Forest Service Reeder Bay campground. Elkins was a destihnation for ice cream bars from the little store and an occasional lunch in the restaurant. Then we got older, as did our granddaughter camping partner, we sold the trailer, and missed our visits to the lake. Several years ago we decided to go for broke and rent a cabin at Elkins, not an inexpensive proposition. But we thought it was worth it and lengthened our stays from a few days to a week...now the last full week of August. Our home away from home has become Cabin 8, perfect for the two of us with its wood burning fireplace, king bed, and location alongside the rushing Reeder Creek. No lake view though; instead we have the soothing sound of the water cascading over the rocks down toward the bay. And a deck that overlooks the creek, complete with picnic table, chairs, and a gas grill. A couple of times we rented watercraft available at the marina, kayaks and paddleboards. We've sat on the lodge lawn in red Adirondack chairs sipping chilled drinks and snacking on appetizers. And we've had dinner at the restaurant. Over the years we've had a few back experiences with the restaurant and the adjacent bar but all in all the food and service is good to excellent though not always the latter. The few times we've had a maintenance or housekeeping issue the staff promptly took care of it, were friendly, and campetant. We just returned from this year's stay, and next year's reservation is made.…
Our cabin was a pleasant surprise for a rental. Fairly new appliances, quality furnishings and well maintained. More attention could be paid to litter on the surroundings, but it was a great experience.
The cabins are clean, comfortable and well stocked. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Really enjoyed sitting out on the lawn in the evening taking in the views. There are 2 dining options but we ate in the bar area and the food was delicious. Great pizza and other options like a chicken Osaka rice bowl that is delicious. There is a great lakeshore trail that leaves from the resort. Lots of other hiking trails available on the priest lake app (definitely worth downloading). Also, groceries are limited in the area so I recommend stopping on the way at a Safeway or similar. Otherwise “The Tamarak” is a good second option.
The channel out of the marina is little more than 2' deep! I take responsibility for things that happen on my boat but come guys, you could at least warn people and/or maybe put a sign up. Trashed a prop and not real happy about it. That said this place is beautiful and besides this little, but costly, incident the people have been wonderful.
Friends from Hope, Idaho brought us here. What a fun trip! The area is super special and the restaurant was a lot of fun. Service was great (thank you Zach!), the food was super tasty and the ambiance, right on the lake, was beautiful!
