Would recommend this hotel if you want a quiet location for a relaxing break. We found the staff to be really friendly and helpful. Overall we had a fantastic stay, with a beautiful room with its own private pool and great views over looking the sea and the local town Koroni. The hotel has a lovely infinity pool, and is set in immaculately kept grounds.

The current breakfast arrangements are not self service, which can lead to a queue at busy times, but guess this is a left over from covid restrictions. Having said that there is plenty of breakfast choice.

Would recommend hiring a car or be prepared to budget for local taxis as there are only a couple of restaurants in the immediate vicinity. However if you are staying half board that’s not so much of an issue.

The hotel provides a free shuttle service to and from the local beach which is about a 20 minute walk down a steep hill, so worth using it. This runs until 6pm and drops you off at one of the local restaurants. The hotel has an allocated space on the beach for guests, with free sun beds and umbrellas, and provide beach towels, which is a plus.

The hotel is about a 40min drive from the airport, and is in a great location for visiting the local area. Would definitely recommend visiting the ancient city of Messini which is about a 90 min drive into the hills.

Our stay at the Greek-owned Camvillia was excellent. The location & views were picture-perfect, staff were very friendly & helpful and the location of all the rooms were perfect for those worried/wishing to minimise the risk of covid transmission. The hotel even organised the PCR tests (same day results) for our return to the UK. The food at their restaurant was of very good quality but on the pricy side (the taverna across the road and Akti’s down on the beach were good alternatives).

The location allows for great exploration of the wider area with Koroni, Kalamata, Messeni, Pylos etc etc all within an hour’s drive of Camvillia. Our bathroom could have done with a shower cubicle instead of a tub - but this is just a personal preference. We will return again.

The staff here never said 'I don't know', and always made the effort to make our stay unforgettable. Particular shout outs go to Kimon, Georgina, Elena, Maria (in the Spa) and Kostas - as well as the general manager.

In September the pool and local beach bar was quiet which meant the service was even better.

The hotel infinity pool might just be the nicest pool we've ever swum in and is reason enough to come back.

There's a local bar in the town too if you fancy a pizza and some ouzo (quite the change from Camvillias excellent cuisine).

They follow government guidelines with regards to coronavirus too, and we always felt very safe. Overall this place is 10/10. Plenty to explore within an hours drive too - if you get a car (which we'd recommend you do).

We arrived looking forward to a 5 star week away. Unfortunately this didn’t happen as we must have higher standards than most, Camvillia really isn’t up to much.

The view from the communal pool and our large “shared pool” room were the only 5 star features.

We have stayed at many other hotels and in comparison this shouldn’t be labelled platinum or 5 star.

The dinner menu is incredibly limited and the breakfast system was beyond a joke. To have no way of freely selecting your breakfast but to have to stand in a queue and have it dished up like a school dinner, isn’t 5 star.

No waiting staff will come to your table to ask if you want a coffee, you have to get up and find the staff.

It became a daily struggle to get what you want as either the staff serving you aided Greek guests first and they would stop you from serving yourself.

The front desk team although seemingly helpful at first, weren’t very clear or friendly and we found their manner somewhat rude.

Gerry the driver to the beach was by far the most able member of staff but it should be the norm not an exception.

We enjoyed the beach bar but that wasn’t part of the hotel and the food was not only fresher and so much more reasonable in price but the portions were more generous too!

Be very aware that a shared pool room may well be on another floor to the pool.
Not experienced that before. We paid extra for a pool room but going up and down two flights of stairs to get to pool is not right.

The cleaning of the room wasn’t up to my better halves standards and I fully agree.
The bathroom although large with a shower and bath, just wasn’t clean enough to enjoy the tub.

The rooms are situated on the side of steep hill, so enjoy the exercise or call for the golf buggy to get you back up to reception or the bar.

Dear dominicgM2325HW, Thank you for taking the time to write your review after your stay at our resort. We were disappointed to read that you were not satisfied with your overall visit at our hotel and that you didn’t enjoy all aspects of your experience with us. This is certainly not the Camvillia Resort experience we aim to provide our guests. Indeed, the breakfast service was done by the staff members due to the protocols that we are obliged to follow. Of course this is not an excuse for delays during the breakfast. However, we would like to take this opportunity to inform you that no customer receives more favorable treatment and the whole team gives their best to meet the needs of all customers indiscriminately. We are also sorry that you didn't enjoy your room and for the misunderstanding caused due to the room you booked. In order to better uphold our commitment to deliver exceptional service to every guest we have shared your feedback with our Front Office Manager in order to prevent any of our guests being similarly inconvenienced. We truly hope to be given the chance to welcome you back on a future trip to Messinia and prove to you that we have very high standards of hospitality. Kind regards, Georgia Theodorelou

Camvillia was our lucky star that we discovered on a road trip around the coastline of Mesinnia. About 15 minutes outside the town of Koroni, on the top of a hill is the village of Vounaria in the middle of olive groves above a beautiful beach. The resort blends perfectly with the environment, the stone built houses are spread between the olive trees on the hillside. The reception is on top of the hill, with a magnificent infinity pool, a serious bar and lounge on the same level and on the upper floor is the restaurant all glass enclosed. The views are magnificent, the sunrise, the olive groves all along the hillsides and seducing blue-green waters of the Meslnnian Gulf expanding ahead until the end of the horizon that is dotted by the Mani mountains range. All day, anytime, a 5 minute ride takes you down to the sand beach with umbrellas and chaise lounges and a couple of nice bars and restaurants for lunch. The rooms are spotless and comfortably furnished with understated elegance. The dining in the restaurant is excellent and the service exceptional.
Staying in Camvillia is R&R for your mind and body, enjoy it.

We went for 10 nights mid August 2022, it is a stunningly beautiful place and didn't disappoint. The views are just amazing. Always sunbeds around the pool, most guests had rental cars and went out all day. Food is quite expensive and very European. We love greek food on holiday and its hard to find in the hotel! Considering its supposed to have an award winning chef I think he was on holiday himself while we were there. Half Board is not worth the extra money, food is bland and uninteresting. The desserts are the best part! Drinks in the bar are v expensive, two small local beers and two fantas 20 euro. Consequently, we ate out 7 times even tho we had half board! The small family run tavernas outside the hotel are traditional, friendly and lovely food although menu is not extensive, but we didn't care. The free shuttle bus is brilliant, you can go anytime between 10am and 6pm to the beach or even just the tavernas there for lunch. Views and food amazing, we loved both tavernas on the local beach. Koroni is fabulous in the evenings, its like Mamma Mia with the waterfront tavernas, good value for money and so authentic, we loved it there. Hotel can call you a taxi and then arrange pick up with the driver. There was no help from Tui in booking any sight seeing trips, we were out on limb! Friends got a taxi to the ruins it was 120 euros return, but they said worth going. Hotel were v unhelpful booking a boat rip as their usual captain had covid. We researched and found Areion Sail and booked it ourselves on the internet. Annika and Cliff were amazing, came to our hotel to collect ID paperwork for coastguard and arranged everything. Just 5 adults on the sailing boat, stopped for swimming etc and Cliff did a picnic lunch on board. 100% recommended. Rooms were large and clean, serviced daily, friendly staff. Our room was right underneath the bar and the outside seating area, but it didn't really give us any grief, altho if you go to bed early I can see that it would as you could hear chattering and the cocktail blender in full motion! Staff friendly but the star of the hotel is George, the shuttle bus driver, he is the font of all knowledge about local area etc and an overall lovely guy. Great holiday, if you love authentic Greece, you can't go wrong with the area.

Overall the hotel is average. Some good things and some bad.
I never normally write reviews but in this case I feel it will help others avoid the issues we had.
Firstly - It is not a 5 star hotel if you compare it to other 5 star accommodation. The rooms are not bad, quite spacious but in the case where you travel as a family, they provide a pull out bed in the rooms meant to sleep 4. The pull out bed is awful and resulted in not 1 good nights sleep for any of us. The room cleanliness was ok, although the cleaners regularly left pillows and blankets on the floor or moved our personal items around.

The food at breakfast was ok. But in general the staff take a long time to clean or remove plates from tables which results in a lot of flies.
The staff serving were very friendly and helpful. They always done their best to help and make you welcome.

We paid extra for the "private pool" - don't do it. The view is ok but you share the pool with many other rooms and it is not private. We had a balcony so still had to walk down stairs and around the building to get to the "private pool". It is just as quick to walk to the main pool which is actually never too busy. The pools need to be cleaned more often. A little clean at the start of each day was not enough. There is also some kind of chemical or issue with the pool which resulted in all light coloured swimwear turning yellow, we had to throw many items away.

Like I said at the start, it is an ok hotel but the 5star rating is misleading in my opinion and this results in paying more money than it is worth. Unfortunately I would not stay here again and would not recommend it as a 5 star hotel. If the rating were to change to be more accurate, along with a more appropriate price, I would then say it is worth it.

I will leave again with a positive, the staff at breakfast and serving during lunch were amazing. I feel bad for forgetting their names but two young ladies in particular were very nice and helpful.

Dear G5569QMalexh, We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience at our hotel, as it allows us to understand your expectations and work on improvements. We acknowledge that your stay was a mix of positive and negative aspects, and we apologize for the issues that caused you inconvenience. We strive to provide comfortable and enjoyable stays for our guests, but we acknowledge that there is always room for improvement. Regarding the room, we are sorry to hear about the discomfort caused by the pull-out bed. We will ensure that our housekeeping team pays closer attention to maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the rooms. As for the food and dining experience, we apologize for the slow service and the presence of flies in the outdoor area!. We will address these concerns with our staff and implement measures to improve the situation. We are glad to know that you appreciated the friendliness and helpfulness of our serving staff. Regarding your comment about the private pool, we should first mention that you had booked a room with a shared pool and not a private one!, and unfortunately you never informed the hotel about the specific misunderstanding of yours. however we understand your disappointment as it did not meet your expectations. We will reevaluate our pool offerings and make the necessary adjustments to better align with our guests' expectations. We appreciate your comments on the cleanliness of the pool and the issue with the discoloration of the swimwear, which we will address immediately. We are grateful for your kind words about our breakfast and lunch service staff. Their dedication to providing excellent service is highly appreciated, and we will ensure they receive proper recognition for their efforts. In conclusion, we acknowledge the areas that need improvement and will work on addressing your concerns. We hope that by being more transparent with our hotel offerings, we can better align guest expectations and provide a more satisfying experience. We regret that your experience did not meet the standards we aim for, and we hope you will consider giving our establishment another chance in the future if we make the necessary adjustments. Thank you for your feedback, and we wish you well in your travels. Sincerely, Georgia Theodorelou, Camvillia Management Team

Ignore all the less than positive reviews - this place is bliss!

I stayed here for 10 days in June, travelling solo, and had such a relaxing time.

The area is quiet - 2 restaurants nearby and a shop with the basics; there is a bus into Koroni which you can catch from outside Egli Vounaria restaurant around the corner which goes around 4 times a day and costs c 2 euros each day. You can also hire an e-bike at this restaurant.

I walked to Nea Koroni one day where I took a coffee; there is also a larger supermarket here. The walk is about 30 mins from the hotel.

All the staff at the resort are delightful, and a special thanks to Kelly who made me feel very welcome as soon as I arrived, and nothing was too much trouble.

Rooms were spacious, comfortable and quiet.

I ate in the restaurant a few times and found the food good as was breakfast.

I also had 3 treatments in the Spa with Maria who was amazing.

Thank you, Camvillia Resort and I hope to be back soon.

We booked our stay for a week through Secret Escapes and we’re apprehensive before we went as to what would be on offer, the remoteness and it being the first foreign travel for us since COVID. From the moment we arrived it was a warm and relaxed welcome. The facilities were exactly as described but all staff went above and beyond to make sure you felt welcomed and to ensure you enjoyed your stay. The hotel never felt busy, rushed and the set up was with the customer in mind. It is 5 star and felt 5 star. There were some minor things but they didn’t bother us and didn’t impact our holiday so we never raised them with the staff. We are sure if we had, they would have been addressed. There is nothing particularly in the area so we are glad we opted for half board. Having read some poor reviews about the food, we were pleasantly impressed by our evening meals and did not have a bad meal. The views from our restaurant were amazing and staff were attentive yet allowed you time to enjoy the meal and ambiance.
The private beach area was beautiful. It isn’t raked daily unlike more commercial areas but we loved it. Gerry is always available during the day to run you between the hotel and the beach, towels supplied and an employee on the beach to ensure you can get drinks and have what you need. There are some lovely taverners right on the beach to visit for lunch and get out of the sun.
We would definitely recommend and would want to return

We have just returned from a week’s stay at Camvillia Resort & Spa. From the moment we arrived, we were instantly made to feel welcome. Absolutely breathtaking views from the pool & restaurant which you could never get bored of. The hotel is so quiet and peaceful, the staff are so lovely and offer such fantastic service. We stayed in room 504, such an amazing view of the sea, mountains and olive grove that Camvillia is nestled in. Breakfast is a wonderful selection of continental and hot breakfast, which can also be made to order. We had lunch by the pool a couple of days, very good quality and delicious. We were staying on a half board basis, so we had dinner in the restaurant every night. The food is delivered to a high standard, great selection of appetisers, salads and mains (cheese croquettes in particular, which my partner had every single night…)
The bar staff downstairs are very friendly and accommodating - said he could make any cocktail I liked and he certainly delivered! The private beach at Peroulia is fantastic. Such clear waters, accessible via an elevator. Thanks to Jerry for taking us and picking us up most days!
What a fabulous little find Camvillia is, after cancelling 3 trips to different locations due to Covid, Camvillia was truly meant to be, and we will certainly be visiting for a second, third, fourth time…
Thank you so much Camvillia Resort and Spa

There are some restaurants, cafes along the beach, walking is possible ~15 min down the slope, and the way back up the hill, as well. For shops better to have a car to drive to Koroni (choice of restaurants there also bigger)

Dear orscart982, Thank you for your enquiry. The hotel offers concierge services for car rentals and you can book when you arrive at the hotel. However, kindly note that this is subject to availability and it is recommended to book in advance especially during high demand periods.
