We stayed at the RV park in July 2020. The sites are full hookups with 30amp power. Each site had a concrete pad and was gravel everywhere else. Some of the sites back right up to the river, however we were on the back of the motel building. There aren’t a lot of extras, but if you’re just looking for a safe place to have your camper parked to sleep at night after fun activities this place is perfect. The location is very central to all of the fun places in Lava and literally a 2 minute walk to the hot pools. Would definitely stay again.

Pros:

Location—you can’t beat the location if you are going to the hot pools. They are literally across the street.
Nice owners—our tv wasn’t working and they came and fixed it and were super friendly and good to work with
The bathroom—looks fairly recently renovated and there was plenty of hot water

Refrigerator and microwave—I appreciate the room having both
TV-the room had free access to DirectTV
FREE wifi
Air conditioner that worked well
They sell ice and have a vending machine and the closet in the room was good-sized

Cons:
The room—The walls had large gouges and dings in them and there were a total of 3 outlets in the room ( 2.5 of them taken up by the air conditioner, fridge, microwave, and tv setup) one of which was missing the face plate so we had to make sure that our kids didn’t touch it because you could reach the live wires.
The lamp was broken so you had to plug it into one of the extension cords running from one of the outlets. There was even a huge wood panel screwed onto the wall that seemed to be covering a hole. The room needs to be painted. It was pretty small for two queen beds.
Toiletries—there was a tiny packet of shampoo/conditioner and two tiny bars of soap—barely enough for one person
Beds—comfortable mattresses but very dated bedding and flimsy pillows

Would I stay again? Yes, it was okay and since the location was great I might if I couldn’t find anything else, but I’d prefer to stay elsewhere. The room was decently clean.

The RV Park is in a great location. It is right on the river where you can watch the tube riders come by your camp or just sit outside your RV in the shade of the trees and watch the river. It is small with a few sites do reservations are a must. It is very close to town so you can walk to the lava Hot Springs spa pools, you can walk to every restaurant and gift shop, you can walk to the 2 Rental Pl., you name it it’s very close. There is also a short walking path from the end of the park that will take you to a natural hot spring that is absolutely free if you would like to go and sit there and enjoy a natural hot spring. The only criticism I have of the place is that it’s near a restaurant/bar and they play loud music until after 11 PM.

The first thing I noticed when I got to my room, #106, was the debris just inside the door. The wind was blowing, the elm trees were dropping their seeds and since most of the door sweep was missing the seeds blew under the door and into the room. I'm thinking bugs will also have no problem crawling into the room. The hot and cold on the bathroom sink are reversed. The outside pane of the bathroom window is frosted but a round section several inches in diameter has been broken out, allowing people in the RV park behind the room to see in. There was also a large wet area on the carpet near the desk. The tub/shower was also slow to drain, I was in ankle deep water most of my shower. The building is pretty old. Wouldn't stay here again.

It appears to be the best/lowest price, but there is a reason. Nonexistent WiFi, no in room coffee maker or supplies, near zero soap/shampoo. Passable as only a desperate attempt at a night stay, not an acceptable place for any longer.

I booked through Booking.com and the reservation didn’t exist in motel system and they wouldn’t honor that lower price even with a very low occupancy for my night. Inflexible!

Very old, outdated and rough. Cons: room old smoker smell, carpet torn, parking is minimal, few outlets, poor toiletries.
Pros: close to soaking, bed was comfortable, employees nice
"ColoredTV by RCA" sign out front tells you something!

Okay, the bad; this place was probably built in the early 50s and had much of the original doors, lights etc. Very dark with little lighting and very few electic outlets. Not enough parking for rooms. Did I say very dark? The good : very reasonable rates, very close to hot pools (across the street) , walking distance to everything downtown, not bad for clean. We stayed here and had money for something else. It wasn't a real hardship, just not the most sparkling accomadations we've every seen. Would stay again.

This place it so horrible. We spent $149 for one night and it was trashed. Holes in walls, paint peeling off, hair in the bed and in the towels. The main door wouldn't latch properly so anyone would be able to get into your room. The remote wouldn't work on the TV, all they said to us is now that they have received enough complaints they'll finally call someone out for it. How this place is still opened and not condemned is beyond me!

Best RV site that we visited on our 10 day trip through Idaho and Montana.
Great location on the river and within walking distance to all of the restaurants and activities in town.
Recommend floating down the river on a tube. Big fun.

Standard motel room. Looks like it's still the 1960's. Clean and a good location. Bring your own pillows. You need 2 or 3 of theirs to equal one decent pillow. No place to sit except the bed. Only one small chair. Overall it fit our needs.

debbie m asked a question Oct 2016
Craig, Colorado
I would like to know if you r RV park is year round?
Answer from Joshua L
Lava Hot Springs, Idaho
Our RV park opens up in April for the summer season with full hook ups (electric, water, sewer). However, we do offer limited hook ups (electric and sewer) throughout the year. Thank you for your question, and we hope to earn your business in the future.
Answer from Joshua L
Lava Hot Springs, Idaho
Unfortunately, we do not offer live-in tenants at this time. We are a small resort town and are fully booked almost every weekend, so at this time we are unable to accommodate long-term tenants.
