I worried about staying here based on reviews. But I was on a budget and this was my best bet. I did not regret. They seem to have many different rooms in different areas. We were lucky to have a mountain facing room on the top floor (3) While the view was great, there was traffic noise in the morning, good thing this town dose not get much traffic. The rooms are comfortable & spacious,. Two of my favorite things they had: Two hooks in the bathroom, and upon request robes. We did not get maid service, but if we needed anything, it was sent up right away. The bathroom sink counter was a complaint of mine ( many hotels are doing this.) There is no counter space or drawers to place your stuff on. If you are staying longer than a day, it is an annoyance.
The pool was large and surprising warm enough for me to swim in. The hot tub was nice too. Breakfast was perfect, just enough to get you to lunch time. I would stay again. Easy to walk everywhere you need to get to, or the bus stops.

Very happy with this place as our room was simple, modern and clean with great bed and linens. One must be patient waiting for hot water. Breakfast featured plenty of fresh berries with yogurt which we liked and the gal serving was very pleasant. Would definitely stay here again.

The location is tops. Walk just a few minutes for dining and shopping, bus stop right out front to get to the mountain for skiing. Rooms are right sized for a couple and well stocked, plus there is a grocery store just a five minute walk away.

The staff is great and Brooke at the front desk was very helpful with local knowledge. Housekeeping did a wonderful job throughout our stay.

As long as you’re not looking for over the top lobbies and a spa type hotel this is a very good choice. We would come back for sure.

My family of 4 stayed in a double Queen room. I picked it for the location and pool, which were both very nice and lived up to expectations. The front desk staff were very welcoming upon arrival and patient with figuring out a confusion over my booking. Because of Covid there’s no housekeeping, but we actually didn’t mind that.

The drawbacks are the hotel is very loud with thin walls (the in-room sound machine helped). One bed was right against the A/C so that side was too cold. Luckily one of my children could stay with her cousins instead because no one wanted that side. The pillows were very thick and fluffy - while others loved that, I could not sleep as a stomach sleeper. After a night of almost no sleep, I borrowed a pillow from my relatives (the hotel didn’t have any other pillows). When I checked in they asked how many would be sleeping in the room. I said 3-4 of us and they gave us vouchers for 3 breakfasts a day and told us to come ask for more if our other child was with us. They showed us where the cookies were put out daily (a nice touch!) but twice when I picked up 4 cookies (1 per person) in the afternoon the person at the front desk made a comment. There were also only 2 towels in our room when we checked in. All of this was easily remedied, but I think maybe they’re not used to parties of 4. The only thing that really did not meet expectations was breakfast. The first day (a Friday) there were no pastries at 8:45. I was told to be there by 7 or they tend to sell out. For 4 days there was no yogurt (so also couldn’t buy smoothies) and the only fruit available were apples. The breakfast location is affiliated with a larger shop in town, but our vouchers could only be used at the hotel location.

I’d give them negative stars if I could…we didn’t actual get to stay at this place, but we won’t ever, ever, ever recommend this hotel to any of our family in Idaho OR our friends in LA and I suggest you do the same if you’re in the sun valley area. Last Sunday my husbands father died rather unexpectedly. We had planned a stay at this hotel next week, but like I said, with a death in the family, we had to cancel due to our obligations and services.

We booked through Expedia- we contacted them and the nice folks at Expedia told us to contact the hotel and provide an obituary. We did that. Hotel Ketchum said “too bad”. Expedia tried to help… said there’s a chance, so clearly this is a possible ask with hotels…not with hotel Ketchum. Not even with proof of death.

I’m cannot for the life of me understand how heartless the people at Hotel Ketchum are. At Christmas. When they are not fully booked per their availability page, so they’re getting our money for nothing.

We just lost a family member at Christmas and now to add to it, this place is taking our $1200. Not even a partial refund. Nothing.

I suggest you don’t give your money to a place that just doesn’t care and one can only reasonably think that this kind of poor customer service extends to when you stay with them.

I understand policies, but they could’ve done the right thing, here, especially when they’re not fully booked.

Go anywhere else.

First let me start with condolences to you and your family - loosing a loved one is never easy. Secondly, there seems to be something wrong here - Expedia would not grant an exception without checking with us - we would have granted the exception with an obituary. I have checked our email for the past two weeks and don't see where we have received this information from any guests or any notes of Expedia forwarding us this information. We are happy to grant a refund once we receive an obituary - the death of a family member is one of the very few exceptions that we grant refunds through third parties for. Please contact the manager directly at the hotel to get this resolved and a refund issued for your stay as it seems that there has been a miscommunication somewhere along the line - which can easily happen when dealing with a third party.

My wife and I are retired, and are well travelled. The property is beat up on most of the surfaces, and has a worn feel. The bathroom is really tiny and lacks much storage. The thermostat would not allow us to turn down the air past 71 without switching to heat mode. When neighboring units turn on their water the noise is very loud. The website makes it seem like there is a restaurant attached, there is not. The mattresses that we had were very soft. Would not stay here again.

Hey worldcruiser222, Thanks so much for the great feedback. Appreciate you taking the time to let us know about your stay! While the hotel went through a $9 million complete renovation less than two years ago, unfortunately we were not able to reconfigure the hotel rooms as much as we would have liked, the size of the bathrooms was unfortunately one of those areas that we could not change. However the full interior and exterior of the property were completely redone, and we purposely used exterior finishes such as architectural steel with a natural patina to reflect a modern contemporary feel. Appreciate your comments on it being worn, but this was purposely done and many of our guests find it exceptionally attractive along with the fully renovated guestrooms and unique public areas. We use the highest quality air conditioning and heating systems available, and they simply respond to whatever temperature you set them at. If you want the room warmer even by a few degrees it will use whatever heating or cooling it deems necessary to bring the room to that temperature. We also feature Simmons Beautyrest plush double pillow top mattress is in all of our guest rooms. Mattresses are very subjective, many folks like a firm mattress, and some like it soft, we tried to choose a great high quality mattress somewhere in the middle, but we take your feedback seriously and will look at all options if the opportunity comes to replace these in the future. You mentioned not seeing our restaurant, but we actually have three restaurants that are part of the hotel facility, and all were open and operating during your stay. We feature Barrio 75, our full service Taco and Tequila bar with a great outdoor patio and online ordering options from every guest room. Jersey Girl, featuring incredible handmade soups, salads, and wonderful sandwiches, and Hailey Coffee Company at the Hangout, featuring fresh roasted coffee and made to order breakfast items that are included with every guest stay. All of these restaurants are located in our hotel buildings and information on each of them is available in the digital guest room directory provided in each room. I feel badly you were not able to experience these wonderful restaurants and really hope you have the opportunity to come back and join us again to try them out. We hope you had an amazing stay in Ketchum, and we would love the opportunity to have you back again in the future and help you experience every aspect of our hotel! Cheers! Jeff Bay Managing Director

We love so many things about Hotel Ketchum. To begin with the rooms are spacious with large windows, great views and plenty of closet space. The in-room refrigerator is great. The Lobby/gathering space is a cool “extra”, along with the breakfast room which offers nice breakfasts which are included. The location, which is close to a bus stop, convenience store & everything downtown is perfect. Last, but not least, the staff was very accommodating to every need & request we had. We’ve stayed here a few times & will definitely return again!

I stayed there with three old friends for a ski trip. The location is perfect and walkable to everything. We took the town shuttle to ski everyday with several stops close to the hotel. Breakfast included eggs, sausage and hash browns. The rooms are clean, modern and spacious. It was the perfect base for our trip. We all agreed that we would stay there again on our next visit to Sun Valley.

we were quoted a good rate online, but when we requested a one day extension, they charged us twice as much. When confronted they claimed it was a "holiday rate". However online the rate was what we were originally quoted & there was no mention of a holiday rate. We filed a dispute with Amex.
