My wife and I and 3 children ages 18 (girl), 16(girl) and a boy 11 took a 3 hour tour of the Sawtooth mountains and Red Fish Lake. It was AMAZING! The scenery was pristine and Tom Jones, the owner was our tour guide. He was so good! My 16 year old daughter was very apprehensive but she took the...

Our family went snowmobiling today and it was wonderful. Our guide, Alan, was top notch and made the experience very enjoyable. Afterwards we had lunch at the lodge and everything was delicious - the fish and chips, cheeseburger, chicken fingers and a turkey & apple sandwich. Not to mention the wait staff was very friendly and made us feel welcomed....

Do not rent snow mobiles from here! We did, with a 9 year old child. We went super slow, stayed on the trail due to the child being nervous. We just had a nice, un-eventful cruise to enjoy the scenery. When we returned, they claimed one of the skis was bent, and there was damage to the under belly of...

Management response:

Rob V., we have a very established and thorough system to prevent pre-existing damage from being charged to snowmobile renters, much like any car rental company. We are a company in a very close-knit community. We work very hard to provide quality services and snowmobile rentals. I am sorry that the snowmobile you rented became damaged. I would be happy...

Just got home after a two night stay in a tent at Smiley Creek Lodge. All of the staff who work there are super friendly and nice! The food in the restaurant was delicious, and the bathroom and shower facilities were super clean. We plan to go back next year and stay in one of the Yurts.

As one of the few businesses still existing within in the Sawtooth National Recreation Area (SNRA), Smiley Creek has somewhat of monopoly for anyone wanting a hamburger, other meals and retail services if traveling between Ketchum and Stanley Idaho. in this recreation area. But they do not exploit this; they are gracious and laid back. They are right off Highway...

If I were to review our stay just on the cabin alone, i would say that it was great...clean, neat, cute, quaint. For the price, and knowing that it was not going to have a bathroom of its own, but a shower house, I was good with that. But we got up in the morning, and the water pump was...

If you are looking to "get away" into the peacefulness of the Sawtooth mountains, this is not the place to stay. They yurts are very neat, but we had tent campers and trailers stacked all around us in a parking lot setting. High density, and very noisy. The images of the yurt on their website show it in a lovely...

This is a darling lodge, restaurant, mini-mart! We flew into the Smiley Creek airport just to check it out. The airport is darling with a beautiful grass runway, airplane campers, and clean restrooms/showers. Across from the airport is Smiley Creek Lodge. We actually had lunch here on our last visit in January (excellent food and service), but this time, we...

“Cabins cheaper but shared bathrooms; loft rooms spendy but fun; watch your head! Yurts and teepees with heating and AC also available!”

“Honestly can say any of the RV spots are level and full hookups. Just beware of parking your RV too close to the cabins West of the RV park - you don't get to choose your neighbors & their party habits!”
