My room was spacious, clean, & comfortable. The basic amenities of refrig, microwave & in room coffee maker were included. The free WiFi worked well. There was a good selection on the TV menu. The location was great - slightly over a mile from the Sun Valley Lodge, where I attended the 5-day Jazz & Music Fest. The price was very reasonable. I would not hesitate to stay there again.

Hotel's Favorite
We had a wonderful stay here. We were traveling with our dog and so we had the 1st floor room. These. rooms open out to an enclosed grass courtyard with poop bags and waste bins. I have never stayed in a hotel that was so convenient for our dog. We also used the indoor pool and jacuzzi which our daughter loved. The front desk staff was very polite and helpful. The location is in downtown at the beginning of the road to Stanley and so was very convenient.

Room was a hodge podge of junk furniture. Very noisy re anyone in room above. Small sink area. Uncomfortable bed. Stairs are inconvenient at best. No desk clerk on site after 10pm. This is a $75 room tops anywhere else on the planet. It is a decent location in town, hence the 2 stars.

We are so sorry you feel so strongly about your stay with us! The property has been remodeled several times over the years. The most recent being two years ago. At that time we updated with new beds, sofa sleeper couches, carpeting / lvt, paint, and lamps. Unfortunately, due to Covid we were not able to finish. However, this year we plan to begin working on artwork, end tables, light fixtures, countertops, etc. Also, there is staff available 24 hours a day. They are just phone call away after our front desk closes. We work hard to make this a welcoming and comfortable stay at the best prices in town. We understand it may not be the best fit for you and hope you still enjoyed your time in our great mountain town, as our location can't be beat!

If you are in town to party and get up early to ski without a care for anyone around you then this place is for you. There is nothing wrong with that at all, just saying this is a good match for you. We were not there to party and we did need to sleep past 8am but that wasn't going to happen. It was like a heard of elephants any time someone went up or down the stairs to their rooms. The whole building would sound like an earthquake. The beds were super comfy and the room was clean, but the improvements that were made were very "paint level". I'll just give one example. The bathroom fan. The old bathroom fans are basically installed in the ceiling and they are plugged in up in the ceiling, so that the one switch controls the light and the fan. When the fan is running about 80 db, you can't hear anything outside the bathroom. So you can't have the light on and listen to your kids in the other room for example. Unlikely we will be back for the above reasons. I think we are just not the target customer. Staff were very nice, it was just really, really noisy.…

So sorry to hear that was your experience! We did only make it half way through our remodel before covid happened and we had to delay. However, this Spring we will be starting back up. Right now we have new bedding, couches, flooring, paint, and lamps. In Spring we will begin working on artwork, end tables, light fixtures, countertops, etc. We know it can be noisy with snow boots on the stairwells in the winter. We try to minimize it but winter is a loud sport season. Please, come back again and allow us a second chance to bring you a great stay!

This has a great location with walking distance to restaurants and shopping. The spacious room had a modern decor and was comfortable. An extra sink and counter (in addition to the one in the bathroom) was a nice touch. Free bike rentals were available. The staff was very accommodating. On the downside bringing luggage to the room was not too fun due to the stairs and distance from the parking. No elevator was available. The washing machine in the hotel was broken and it appeared that it would be a long time before it was repaired.

We are so glad you enjoyed your stay in our spacious and updated rooms! I know for some not having an elevator can be difficult. You would be welcome to request a first floor room next time you come to visit. Our first floor rooms open up to the beautiful back courtyard area. So sorry to hear you had a hard time with our guest laundry washing machine. However, we have inspected the machine and it is working great. The place is dated, many things need to be refurbished. Can’t help but notice all the reviews mentioning an abundance of hot water because that’s what we didn’t have. It is centrally located in downtown Ketchum.

We are so sorry you felt the property was dated. We have recently remodeled. New beds, sofa sleepers, lamps, carpets/lvt, and painted interiors. We are still working on getting new light fixtures, end tables, and art work but it is to come. In general we have plenty of hot water for all guests. I wish you had informed us that you were struggling with it. We would have sent someone to check that out immediately! We want you to enjoy your experience and feel comfortable during your stay. Had a great stay. The family suite was perfect for a family of four and allowing us to have our own space. Todd was very helpful when I called to ask several questions and make our reservation. We did have one minor issue with the heater not working properly in one of the rooms but maintenance fixed it the next day. In the interim, they offered us another room, but when we declined, they brought us a space heater and extra blankets which sufficed. The hot tub was great after a day of skiing - just that we had to walk to the back in the cooler weather. Local bus is easy to use; restaurants are within walking distance.

I’ve stayed here two times now, and I’m officially hooked. We live in Boise and love to get away for the weekends with our dog in Ketchum. Tamarack Lodge is very clean, location is literally the best, and they allow pets for a very minimal fee. No issues or questions. I definitely recommend this hotel if you’re looking for quality and location in town.
