This is an amazing hotel. Simple elegance. Rooms are very comfortable. Staff is awesome and friendly to help. Excellent breakfast buffet included with the room. Evening bar and pizza really great. I can't say enough good things about this place. But it's pricey...and worth it.

Okay, so I am being picky. We liked the hotel's location relative to the town with pretty much everything within easy walking distance. They gave us a corner room with a lovely view of the mountain. The room was very clean and the bed was comfy. A working microwave, refrigerator and actual flatware that was very nice and felt upscale compared to many hotels.

This was our 22nd wedding anniversary and we are glad we chose the Limelight. The only thing we did not like was the fact that there is no fan in the bathroom and there is not a window that can be opened to help "clear the air" after using the bathroom. Otherwise the room was lovely with a great view of the ski slopes. The staff was very friendly and helpful when we needed something or had a question. The bar downstairs was well stocked and was fairly busy on Saturday night.

You better like dogs. (We love dogs). The hotel is very dog friendly and at times it seemed like there may have been as many dogs as guests. There was no barking, just well mannered pups and their owners. While we do not have a dog at this time (Ours just passed away) it was wonderful to see the hotel welcome four legged friends.

We will definitely stay at the Limelight for future stays in Sun Valley.

When booking, you should be aware that there is a per day "Resort Fee" in addition to the listed room costs and underground parking is $16 a day. You could try and park on the street but it is limited to "2 hour parking" during the day.

Stayed here for four nights on our Idaho trip. The hotel is located right in the main part of Ketchum. Easy walking to shopping and restaurants. Paid the $18/ night to park underground, was worth it because street parking is spotty.
The Terrace Queen room we stayed in had a nice big balcony overlooking the outdoor restaurant and pool with views of the mountains. Nice wet bar sink in the room and plenty of storage for gear including hooks which you don’t find often in hotel rooms. Clean and comfortable.
The lobby was nice and the included breakfast was pretty good with some hot and cold foods. Ate at the restaurant on the first night we arrived because it was easy, Hit or miss. Pizza was good but chicken and beef on salads was poorly cooked, hard and rubbery.
Lots of dogs, some barking when left alone in hotel room. Some smaller dogs would move between adjoining balconies.

We stayed at the Limelight hotel for 4 nights in March with our two children. The hotel is modern, and it is situated in a prime location in Ketchum, very close to both ski mountains and within walking distance of several restaurants and shops. The hotel itself was lovely. We especially enjoyed our oversized room (we stayed in a corner suite #206, which was big enough for a family of 4 and all of our ski gear), the heated pool/hot tub overlooking Bald mountain, and the outdoor lounge area. However, I feel compelled to write a review to address the inconsistencies in service that we experienced. To start with the good - all of the drivers were wonderful. We never had any problem getting a car or shuttle to take us to either of the ski mountains, and all of the drivers were extremely helpful and friendly. We also had a positive experience with the concierge. The same cannot be said for the front desk staff or the lounge servers. My husband's experience with the initial check in process was lackluster. We called the front desk to ask for two robes for our kids to wear down to the pool, and they never came until we called back the next day and asked for them again. We ate dinner in the lounge twice. The first night, our food came out before our drinks did. Although the food was good, the server was inattentive and slow. The second night, the service was downright awful, as the waitress acted like she would rather be walking on nails than dealing with our table. They brought out each family member's meal separately, so that two people were done eating before I even got my food. In contrast, we ate at Gretchen's at the Sun Valley Lodge one night and experienced amazing food and service. Overall, we loved the hotel's location and really enjoyed our time in Sun Valley, but we left a little disappointed with the service and would hesitate to stay here again.

Stayed for 8 nights but had sleep interrupted for many of them. My room was directly above the trash/delivery area. At roughly 6 AM a truck would come and slam the dumpsters. This happened twice. I noted one other day where the truck began slamming at a more reasonable time. It's really disappointing that there is another review that mentions this and that management acknowledged it, yet it's still happening so early in the morning.

On two other nights, there was unexplained nighttime heavy equipment operation, probably snow removal, which, to be fair, I wouldn't expect the hotel to have control over. Also, on the weekends when there were actually other people in the hotel, other guests had bad hallway etiquette, not to mention dogs left alone in nearby rooms that barked for hours on end.

There are many plusses to the hotel, however. First, the shuttle service was available on-demand and was flawless the 16 or so times that I took it (aside from not getting a response to the 2 emails I sent trying to reserve airport transport). Ketchum has mediocre restaurants and the lounge restaurant here is easily one of the best in town. I returned multiple times. The breakfast options were quite basic for a 4-star ski hotel, to be honest, but breakfast was free, and since I was one of the only people there they were probably having to throw a lot of it away anyway.

The room itself was spacious and functional with a great view of the mountains. Fireplace was great for drying boots. Only complaint was that the cooling component of the HVAC didn't seem to function at all. I'd regularly find my room 80 degrees or higher right around bedtime (fireplace being used or not) and the system never seemed to work even when on "high cool," I actually had to open the window a few nights, which feels ridiculous in a new 4-star hotel.

Other stuff such as the hot tubs and ski lockers and the general vibe of the hotel was great, even impressive. I'm left in a weird place where I feel fortunate to be able to afford accommodations like this but I also felt like I could have lodged one legitimate complaint during each day I stayed here, so it's hard to objectively say it was worth "paying up" to stay at the premier hotel in Sun Valley.

Hi Tim, thank you for sharing your feedback regarding your recent stay. You are certainly a prolific reviewer! Unfortunately, we don't have too much control on timing of deliveries or trash removal. As any business in any city/town, you are in line for these services as they have many business and residences to attend to. I wish we had that power. Same for snow removal in a ski town. Generally happens at night when traffic is lightest and am happy you enjoyed some fresh snow during your visit. I do wish you would have reached out to us during your stay and we would have been happy to relocate you to another room. Your total relaxation and enjoyment of your stay is of upmost importance to us all. Outside of that, it sounds like you really enjoyed your time here and we do hope you will return. Again, thanks for sharing. john

Lovely modern hotel with amazing staff.
We were pleased to discover how well appointed the rooms are. During covid times and mostly take-a-way dining, it was nice to have a full set of dishes, silverware and cups. The large table in the room was perfect for dining and work.
Of course the outdoor pool and hot tubs are always a hit with the kids. Definitely our favorite place to stay in Sun Valley.

I dislike the “hidden fees” that were tacked on: resort fee (really? Such a cheep sleazy trendy gimmick) parking (does my car, parked underground really cost you anything?) and the 11% tax (which I understand you have no control over). Okay rant over.

Hotel and employees were great, The location is prime for walking anywhere in Ketchum, and shuttles will take you if it’s too far to walk. Shuttles were timely and drivers were capable and very friendly.
I would highly recommend this hotel.

We stayed for two nights in late June and really enjoyed this hotel. The staff was very cautious about COVID-19. Signage, masks and sanitizer were everywhere. Regarding our room, we loved the deck, the bathroom amenities, many hooks on the wall, and comfortable bed. We also enjoyed access to a washer/dryer on our floor, swimming in the pool in the evening, and a meal on the deck with live music. Also, parking a block away was super easy. For activities, the location is perfect to walk/ride the paved trail near the river (we saw a baby moose!); visit Sun Valley Lodge for a drink on the patio; shop and eat downtown (also with masks and distancing everywhere); and drive to Redfish Lake where we easily rented a boat and got away on the gorgeous lake.

First, the food is great. If there service was decent, we might go back again. The service was so bad, at least we got a good laugh. Either the waiter was having a bad day or he was on drugs or just completely inept. We asked what the soup of the day was and he mumbled something as he was walking away. So we asked him to come back and he said he didn’t know and he would find out. That took about 15 minutes. We asked for kids menus (we had a party of 15 with 7 kids at the table). He tossed 3 kids menus to the adults sitting on the opposite end of the kids table (kids were ages 6-15 and can all read). He took the kids orders and then came back 10 minutes later to take the adults orders. The kids food came out so fast that the kids were done eating before the adults got our food. We got one pizza after everyone was done eating so one adult (me!) had dinner after everyone else was already done. The waiter didn’t say he was sorry, could have cared less about anything. But because we were a party of 15 people, he made sure his $53 gratuity was on our check. We spoke to the manager who took the forgotten pizza off the bill - we should have requested the gratuity be taken off as well but we had been there for far too long already.

Thank you for taking time to relate your experience in our lounge. I and we are disappointed that your service experience at the Limelight Lounge were less than satisfactory. We strive for a high standard of attentive and personalized service and we missed the mark. We do enjoy hosting large parties, although it would be beneficial all the way around to contact us prior to bringing in a group as large as 15, and making all of our family guests feel at home and welcome at all times. I would love to try and make this right with you and please email me your address at jcurnow@limelighthotels.com so I can personally reach out. I hope that you will accept our sincerest apologies and might consider us again in the future. john

I loved the contemporary style of this hotel! The location is prime in downtown Ketchum which allows you to walk anywhere, however the hotel’s chauffeurs will take you and pick you up anywhere in the area on-demand, so you don’t have to deal with parking (which is a huge plus in a resort town). My room was very spacious and had a fully stocked kitchenette and a lovely balcony overlooking the pool and hot tubs. The gym was great with a ton of equipment and the food was excellent. This hotel has a fun après ski scene with live music and great drinks, this is definitely the liveliest place in town and I honestly had perfect stay!

How is parking?
Answer from jcurnowllk
The hotel does have underground parking for guests. It is self-parking for $15/day. there is plenty of street parking surrounding the hotel but you cannot park on the street in Ketchum after 1am for snow-plowing.
