We needed a place to stay while visiting family for Thanksgiving. We stayed here for the location. We loved the rooms and they all overlook the river! It was such a cozy, beautiful place! We can’t wait to go back!

Again we are very sorry your stay did not meet expectations. We work very hard to please our guests. A response has been published under a different review. I won’t repeat it, just scroll lower. We tried to fix the situation to the best of our ability. It is obvious that we perceive the situation quite differently. Fortunately we have been blessed with many wonderful reviews praising our little lodge. We hope that while reading reviews, our potential customers will take that into consideration. Many of our guests return year after year. They return because we work hard to give them a great experience, cozy clean rooms, well trained staff members, and a at home part of the family kind of feel. While this review is unfortunate we chose to focus on the positive and continue to do our very best work. We hope any reader will also choose to focus on the positive, life’s to darn short not to.

The location of the hotel is beautiful! It is on the river and is very peaceful. The room is also nice with rustic logs.

There are some odd things about a hotel that charges this much for a room.

1. The telephone is a large paperweight. It doesn't work.
2. The TV rarely works

Thank you for your review. We appreciate the suggestions. I will have maintenance check the hot tub right away. It should be full and not making such a noise. I apologize about the TV, the signal here in the mountains is a hard one to get consistantly, and we must have missed a phone when removing them from the rooms. I'll have housekeeping double check. I do apologize for the confusion at check-in, that is on us. The rooms got jumbled, it rarely happens, but we did make ample attempts to try to rectify the situation. Our manager even offered to upgrade you for free to one of our deluxe cabins that would have had no stairs, and ample room for you party, but you did not accept that generous offer. We do not have lodging 40 miles from here, it is 1/2 of a mile down the road. When we went to the room to remove the broken chair later we found out that you had 5 grown adults and 4 very large dogs staying in the room, which you never told us about. That is a fire hazard and many hotels would have asked you to rent 2 rooms to accommodate such a large group. Although we do allow pets in rooms, had you told us, we never would have allowed 4 large dogs in one of our suites. I wish I could sympathize with you on the over crowding, but even the original room you wanted would have been extremely cramped considering the details. So while I can apologize for the room confusion and the temperature of the water, I cannot apologize for how the situation was handled. Management was more than willing to give you a beautiful cabin only 1/2 of a mile away. We do our best to make sure every guest leaves satisfied and impressed, but after all of our attempts to achieve that were turned down, there was not much else we could do. I do believe that a $50 credit was a satisfactory offer considering that the upgrade we offered you was worth much more and the fact that it took housekeeping much longer the next day to clean the room due to pets, which again we would not have allowed had we been informed. So please READER, if you are reading the above review I ask that before you heed the advice and "Buyer Beware" you will take into consideration that there are indeed 2 sides to every story. That being said we value all of our guests and pride ourselves in treating them like family, but many details were left out of this review and we can only hope you will disregard it after we have now had the opportunity for rebuttal.

At what times is the check out hours.
Our check in time is at 3pm, Check out is at 11am. If we are not busy the day of checkout and you need a bit more time we are happy to accommodate it.
