We arrived after hours, so we parked far away from the other guests as to not disturb them. We later found they had posted our check-in info on one of the doors. They were very friendly in the short period of time we were there, and had no problem helping us cancel one of our night stays there. Showers were great and convenient.

We thought this would be closer to come and go from Yellowstone. It was just too far for us. Subsequently, we moved into Yellowstone's Mammoth Campground the last two nights...and did not get a refund...which we are totally fine with! We had somewhat nice experiences with the office staff; yet there was a bit of confusion about the tent at our site and how long it could be there. We had reserved a site for our adult kids to tent camp. At check-in, we were asked it they wanted to tent in our space vs the tent area. We said YES please. Then they said, "Oh - no they can't , you will be here more than three nights. We went to set-up and discovered the tent area had very strong winds. The adult kids would be better shielded by our motorcoach. Then I read the campgrounds r own written rules that said they could tent in our site if they moved it after three nights to help save their lawn. I walked back to the office to discuss that. They were very nice and agreed with me...but said they still had to pay for a tent site also? Why was that not offered as an option in the first place? And why did we have to pay as if they were in a tent site? Our adult kids used the laundry and were somewhat frustrated with the passive/aggressive commentary and attitude of the staff when our kids wanted to leave the laundry area to make a quick grocery run, then come back to finish the laundry. The directives from the office were NOTHING on the grass...no outdoor rugs, etc....yet several of the more long-term people around us had rugs. Maybe it's okay if you move it every three days. Would have liked to use ours, but I'm a rule follower...if you make a rule, enforce it fro everyone.

We stayed here the day they opened for the season of 2019. The restrooms/shower were unavailable, they were still repairing and cleaning. Once they were available they were run down, a truckstop restroom/shower would have been cleaner and nicer. The owner(s) were unfriendly and don't like dogs. The seasonal workers were very nice though and helpful. Although WIFI is listed as an Amenity Provided, they asked us not to use it. They don't provide a waste disposal site for dog waste at the dog area, you have to carry it to the other end of the campground to the dumpster. I wouldn't recommend this place or stay here ever again. The pictures of this place are obviously from previous years, it is so run down.

We had a car problem shortly after leaving West Yellowstone for the Grand Tetons. Because the park in the Tetons had no internet or cell service & no services for getting the car taken care of, we decided to return to West Yellowstone. Of course, being summer, every RV park was totally booked, so we had to go out a little farther. We found this park, which really isn't that far. I think our GPS said 18 miles. It's directly across from Henry Lake & not much else around. The park itself is decent. We were at the back, which is a little dustier than the front spots. I know they were trying to keep the grass watered, but ours was barely alive. However, as the others have mentioned, the sites are spacious & that was a nice feature. They aren't particularly level, so make sure you have things for that. The prices are about half what you'd pay in West Yellowstone, but I wouldn't call them inexpensive. However, for the location, they were decent. There is a huge laundry on the site & reasonably prices. If you want to go to Yellowstone & don't want to pay the high campground prices in West Yellowstone, then I would say this is a good alternative. As to the no refunds policy, the lady at the desk was very explicit about that when I called & when we checked in. However, there should be some exceptions.

You will not get your money back after you pay, no matter what. The front desk staff is nice, but the owners are dishonest and difficult to work with. My toddler had a stick stabbed in his eye because he tripped in one of the thousands of rodent holes in the ground that cover the campground. I will never return to this park and would tell everyone to STAY AWAY. There are plenty of better options in the area!
