Let me start by saying the resort was clean. And it’s in close proximity to the west entrance of Yellowstone. That’s the only positives I can think of. The resort is immediately off of a very busy highway (of course not pictured). No trees. No fire pits. And God forbid you have a dog (which must be leashed at all times), or need to use the lobby’s toilet or sink at any point. I asked to use the restroom to wash my hands upon our departure as we had just dumped the black tank and was prepping to leave. When I requested the key to the bathroom to clean up I was given the stink eye and directed to a sink in the open laundry area. Apparently bathroom use isn’t included in the huge resort fee. The office lady was annoyed to be bothered. Showers were closed due to covid. No resort amenities really to offer other than there is a dumpster for your garbage. Praise be! There are some spectacular campgrounds in Island Park nearby where I’ve stayed and where you can actually use a flush toilet, park in trees, have a campfire, pay a small sum and feel like you’re actually in the mountains. This trip was with friends who unfortunately selected where we would stay. All said and done, this area is too majestic to stay in your camper or at the resort, so if you need a place to sleep and don’t mind an expensive stay for not much in return then this place may do for you.

There’s a reason they say no refunds when you check in. Absolutely no amenities. WiFi doesn’t work. Water sketchy. Not dog friendly. No pool, Playground, TV, DOG PARK, absolutely unfriendly ownership. We have two toy poodles and park management is 100% unfriendly to dogs. Big open fields that belong to the owner. Dog not allowed to play. Kids are though. We got stuck here but we’re very unhappy.

We arrived after hours, so we parked far away from the other guests as to not disturb them. We later found they had posted our check-in info on one of the doors. They were very friendly in the short period of time we were there, and had no problem helping us cancel one of our night stays there. Showers were great and convenient.

We thought this would be closer to come and go from Yellowstone. It was just too far for us. Subsequently, we moved into Yellowstone's Mammoth Campground the last two nights...and did not get a refund...which we are totally fine with! We had somewhat nice experiences with the office staff; yet there was a bit of confusion about the tent at our site and how long it could be there. We had reserved a site for our adult kids to tent camp. At check-in, we were asked it they wanted to tent in our space vs the tent area. We said YES please. Then they said, "Oh - no they can't , you will be here more than three nights. We went to set-up and discovered the tent area had very strong winds. The adult kids would be better shielded by our motorcoach. Then I read the campgrounds r own written rules that said they could tent in our site if they moved it after three nights to help save their lawn. I walked back to the office to discuss that. They were very nice and agreed with me...but said they still had to pay for a tent site also? Why was that not offered as an option in the first place? And why did we have to pay as if they were in a tent site? Our adult kids used the laundry and were somewhat frustrated with the passive/aggressive commentary and attitude of the staff when our kids wanted to leave the laundry area to make a quick grocery run, then come back to finish the laundry. The directives from the office were NOTHING on the grass...no outdoor rugs, etc....yet several of the more long-term people around us had rugs. Maybe it's okay if you move it every three days. Would have liked to use ours, but I'm a rule follower...if you make a rule, enforce it fro everyone.

We stayed here the day they opened for the season of 2019. The restrooms/shower were unavailable, they were still repairing and cleaning. Once they were available they were run down, a truckstop restroom/shower would have been cleaner and nicer. The owner(s) were unfriendly and don't like dogs. The seasonal workers were very nice though and helpful. Although WIFI is listed as an Amenity Provided, they asked us not to use it. They don't provide a waste disposal site for dog waste at the dog area, you have to carry it to the other end of the campground to the dumpster. I wouldn't recommend this place or stay here ever again. The pictures of this place are obviously from previous years, it is so run down.
