First time at the Lodge at Palisades Creek, it for sure won’t be our last! We had set out with more people than came COVID put a bit of a damper on that but the lodge was very COVID ready an prepared that gave the rest of us peace of mind. From Shayde at the flyshop to Charles and team at the restaurant/ bar these folks took great care of us! I had a blown out tire on our truck on our drive in from Colorado shayde called the tire shop and helped us arrange in Idaho falls new tires and we didn’t miss a skip of fishing! Fishing- it was fantastic you won’t be disappointed on your days on the river! Even an ok day of fishing maybe 15 fish... you still come back to your cabin smiling. The guides tend to drive you back to your cabins and help you unload whatever you happens to take. Justin the GM checked in on us every night just to make sure we had a good day. The entire staff is so pleasant and personable. We had some food allergies and the chef and team jumped into action to make sure they had it covered. The first night we were spoiled with delicious scallops and kept getting better from their. Lunches on the river were very good especially salad days! And breakfast was made to order on whatever you desired. I honestly couldn’t find a flaw! Till next year! Sincerely Wendy A

We used the Lodge at Palisades to book a fishing outing, the booking was easy and the email with directions was clear. We arrived first thing in the morning at the fly shop, met our guide and were off for the day. I don't think there could be a more perfect day. The weather was gorgeous, the boat was perfectly situated, and the fish were biting like crazy. Chase was our guide and he went above and beyond to help us learn and have a great day on the water. My 11 year old (and myself) had quite a few tangles and snags, and he never frustrated with us. Answered every possible question the kid asked. Lunch was very good, we stopped for a lunch break in beautiful surroundings with bald eagles flying overhead. We were so sad when the day was over, looking forward to booking again in the future and make sure you request Chase when booking your fishing guides!

We spent a glorious several days at the Lodge at Palisades Creek over the 4th of July this year- our accommodations were new and perfect for a family. . . a common living room and deck overlooking some spectacular scenery. No wonder it was Orvis Lodge of the Year in 2014 - Justin, the GM leads a team of hospitality professionals that look after each detail. We felt very much spoiled by each and every one of them ! Only to be outdone by our guide, Tanner, who knew exactly where the fish were :) Three of us were new to fly-fishing and now feel like seasoned fishermen/women. He does such a great job, we'll request him again on our next visit. Thanks all for a great visit, we'll be back. The Guthries

After my wife Kelli suggested we find a new lodge to fly fish we researched many and focused on The Lodge at Palisades Creek. My initial contact was with Shade and Tim in the fly shop. Both were helpful, very friendly and answered all our questions so I made our reservation and we were looking forward to our new adventure. When we arrived we found the lodge and the grounds picturesque and as we walked up the stairs to the fly shop we were greeted by a very friendly and beautiful dog named, Ashley. Soon after we were checked into cabin “Palisades” and we were offered a much needed cocktail. Our cabin was rustic, cozy and decorated just like a cabin should be. We sat on our front porch with a view of a hammock and just beyond the Snake River and enjoyed our drinks. The Lodge had a full house that evening. Upon are arrival we were immediately offered another cocktail of our choice and once served; we mingled with the other guests and found them to be inviting, friendly and warm. We found interactions with the other guests a wonderful addition to our stay. As with every night, the menu offered appetizers, salads and we had a choice of three main courses including an excellent wine list. Another nice touch: on the menu all the guest’s names were listed helping guests a reference to remember names. Our conversations and interactions was a major highlight of our trip. The dinner was excellent as well as the wine. My steak was cooked perfectly and thus far, we were enjoying ourselves on every level. Not only was my steak cooked perfectly we must say that the servers were excellent; warm, friendly and responsive to all our needs. With every request, we received genuine smiles and warmth. Because of the excellent service we felt that was one of the reasons why the dining room was full of laughter. After saying our goodnights and thanks to all friends we returned to our cabin and sat on the front porch. We listened to the relaxing sound of the Snake River just outside our door. As we sipped a glass of the complementary red wine in our room we thought what a perfect day and a perfect choice we made selecting The Lodge at Palisades Creek. We slept well even with anticipation of catching many big trout on the famous Snake River. We got up the next morning, dressed and made our way to the dining room for breakfast. As the other guests entered the dining room for breakfast we were greeted like old friends and we were happy to see all. We ordered and consumed our excellent breakfasts and before we knew it we were off to the fly shop to meet our guide. Our guide was a tall thin young man named Chase. He was very personable and possessed a warm personality including a great smile. Once we arrived at the boat launch we were amazed at the vastness and beauty of the Snake. Kelli took the front boat position and I took the rear…we were off…we caught lots of fish and we were having an excellent time! Our lunch was exceptional: the albacore tuna that was cooked perfectly that included a great salad and all the fixings including a cookie. Over the three days of fishing with Chase, we found him uniquely qualified as a guide and an exceptional individual. Chase was easy going, patient and provided wonderful directions to help catch and land big fish. When we return to the Lodge for another adventure we will definitely request Chase again! After returning each night to the lodge for drinks and dinner everyone described their fishing experience and one of our new friends, Steve Leder, caught the largest rainbow trout of the day, about 21-inches…what a beautiful fish! Unfortunately, our final day of fishing had arrived. Chase suggested we fish the Canyon run. It sounded great and we were ready. Once arrived, we noticed the amazing rock configurations; appearing as if lava flows and other volcanic activity had played a hand in creating this beautiful and unique landscape. It was a great day. Kelli caught many rainbow and a big brown trout. What a fantastic day to end our trip. We had another fantastic day of fishing. After freshening up we made our way to the dining room and as always received a warm welcome but this time from the manager of the lodge, Justin. He greeted us with a big smile and made us both a well-deserved cocktail. While building our drinks Justin inquired about our stay, asked about the staff and how our stay was going. We were impressed with Justin and realized immediately that the Lodge’s staff seemed to mirror his gracious personality. When Justin asked about the fishing we were happy to express our pleasure with the fishing and our guide, Chase. The next day was another beautiful morning at the Lodge on the Snake River. We both slept well in our cabin but before making our way to the dining room for our finial breakfast we sat on our front porch and recollected our fishing adventure. What a beautiful experience it was. Checking out was sort of sad because we saw the guides pulling out for another fly fishing adventure with many guests. We had an excellent time and we look forward to returning someday soon. If you’re looking for an extraordinary fly fishing experience we highly recommend The Lodge at Palisades Creek: great fishing, fabulous service and staff, accommodations, food and wine. You won’t be disappointed.
