Absolutely loved our trip. Ranch is amazing, spectacular views and lots of wildlife. From the moment we arrived their entire staff was friendly and welcoming. Lodge, restaurant and cabins are modern, clean and beautiful. Food was delicious and lots to choose from. The have something for everyone, vegan, gluten-free, vegetarian or any you need. Horses are happy and extremely well cared for. The riding is incredible. Lots of options to choose from. So many activities that you can be bus day and night if you’d like or just relax. Evening campfires, music, Dj, dancing, etc. We mer so many nice people. A group quickly formed and friends were made. We already booked for next year.
My sister and I had the pleasure of spending an adult-only week at RHMR in September 2021. This vacation totally exceeded our expectations on so many levels. The staff is absolutely amazing and caters to each individual's needs/desires as best they possibly can. If you have a special request - just ask. If they can make it happen - they will. You can also literally make the experience as relaxed as you want to as busy as you want - we opted for BUSY and we were not disappointed! They literally have activities all day and into each evening and there's so much more than just horseback riding at RHMR, but if you want to just kickback and relax, there are plenty of opportunities for that as well. The food is excellent and PLENTIFUL and they were able to meet several special requests (no seafood for me; vegetarian options for others in our group, etc.). You will never go hungry at RHMR! In addition to the 3 standard meals per day they have hot and cold beverages, snacks, fruits, pastries, etc. always available in the main lodge. They also have a full bar with a fun list of RHMR signature drinks - I think we tried them all! The wranglers wear many hats at the ranch, so in addition to the daily rides, you will also see some of them working other activities such as the challenge course, the morning hikes, kayaking, etc. We even saw a few in the wee hours of the morning helping the kitchen staff out. As for the riding, there are a ton of options. RHMR offers mountain rides twice daily, a 6-hour lunch ride on Wednesday's, daily lessons, advanced rides for those looking for the faster gaits, etc. They also offer demos a couple nights during the week. The wranglers match you to a horse for the week but if for any reason you aren't happy, they will work with you to find another mount that will work. For us, we loved the horses that were chosen for us, and we enjoyed trail rides, the lunch ride, a couple of lessons, and even a really nice low key ride around the valley floor on Friday morning (special request they were able to accommodate). The property itself is also gorgeous and we saw plenty of wildlife during the week we were there including lots of deer, turkeys, grouse, herons, a few moose down the road at Blue Lake, and while we didn't see any bears, there was plenty of "evidence" they are around. ;) In a nutshell, it was an amazing week - so much so that we are already booked again for September 2022 and are counting the days until we return to RHMR. While all the staff was amazing - special shout outs to Mandy, Alyson, Anna M, Arielle, Jonah and Nick for making our week so special.…
We enjoyed our week at the ranch more than we expected! We had never been to a "dude" ranch, but loved the entire experience. They really went out of their way to make us feel safe and comfortable during a peak in Covid numbers. Hand washing stations, social distancing, etc. The horses were great, riding trails were amazing and all activities fun. We like to meet new people when we travel and everyone was friendly and welcoming. The food was amazing. The best part was being "off the grid" and spending quality time together, but we especially enjoyed seeing all the stars at night - we could even see the Milky Way! We would definitely do this again.
The staff at this resort are top notch. They really made an extra effort to make sure our week went smoothly. We had a special family situation and they worked hard to help us out in many different ways. We had an absolutely amazing time and there was something for everyone to do. The food was delicious and I appreciated the variety - they made it easy to eat healthy so I could save up for wine in the evenings! The beds were comfortable and it was easy to walk everywhere. They offered shuttles for those that were a little unsteady or needed some extra assistance. I was thrilled that you could take a riding test and had the ability to go on advanced horseback rides where you could do more than just walking. The kids took some lessons in the arena (in addition to trail rides) and the staff was so much fun. My daughter giggled as she rode backwards in the saddle, stood up, did a backwards flip off the saddle, and even slid off the back of the horse. I loved mountain biking, ropes course, morning hikes, yoga, advanced horseback rides, and relaxing while the kids swam in the pool. Everyone had a wonderful time and we would all do it again!…
We had an amazing week at Red Horse. The biggest highlight, of course, is the riding- our family of 4 enjoyed every single ride during the week and our horses- Moe, Holiday, Dolly, and Silver- were great. The trails are interesting and provide outstanding views and scenery, and the advanced riding test allows riders seeking more speed to qualify for cantoring/loping if able. The wranglers (and all the staff) are incredibly friendly. We loved the other activities as well- the 3D archery, sporting clays, kayaking, megazip and more. The food was great- the bakers are especially good (thanks Donovan!), the hospitality team (shoutout to Jenna, and Nick at the bar!) is really friendly... just a great experience all around. The rooms we had were very comfortable. The other guests were very friendly- the setup makes it very easy to bond. Highly, highly recommend for anyone looking for a ranch riding experience.…
This trip was a dream come true - everything I expected and more. The horses are incredible, the staff amazing, food and drinks to die for, rooms so comfortable, and the activities - riding, riding lessons, archery, challenge course, skeet shooting, mega zip line - were so much fun. This was truly summer camp for adults (although they have family weeks, we went during an adult week), and we loved every minute of it. The people who come here are by and large interesting, friendly and fun to meet. We really enjoyed chatting with everyone and made connections with people whose company we truly enjoyed. The evening activities are a great cap to every wonderful day. I'd wanted to experience a dude ranch for years, and although I own my own horse, I had a lot of fun riding the horse they assigned to me. He was a perfect match. The advanced rides were fun with loping sections, and I took a couple lessons in the arena which I enjoyed immensely. The young people who work here are just wonderful, and will make you feel at home. Highly recommend!!…
Wow, what can I say... Scenic vistas and starry nights. I came for the activities and was delighted to find so much more. From trail rides to lessons, a whole new world was opened up to me. I discovered from the first meal their food was a hidden gem. The maple scones and vanilla rooibos tea bread were heavenly! Kudos to the exceptional staff, you were the real star of the show. Every single staff member I interacted with were so charming and warm. My experience was magical!!
This dude ranch resort was well worth the travel distance and expense. Even with all of the barriers with Covid 19, the team at the ranch made sure each person’s experience was super. Hope to go back in the near future with friends.
I didn't think I could top last year's stay at this magnificent slice of heaven, but I did. I had to bring my husband this time because words or photos don't do it justice. It was the only 2020 vacation that we didn't have to cancel. Luckily we live close enough to drive. Accommodations were first rate. A lovely cabin overlooking the horses grazing. I would come just for the food, it's that delicious, especially the baked goods. JD took care of all of our liquid libation needs. Dawson was awesome! He and I share a love for Calvin. The rides were gorgeous and fun. Emma helped us rediscover archery and kayaking and both were great! Everything is taken care of and if you need anything, just ask and it's taken care of. The entire staff is top notch! I hope I can return one day and experience this magical place filled with horses.…
We can't say enough good things about our week at Red Horse Mountain Ranch! The staff, the food and the horse backing riding were all FABULOUS. The ranch offers so many other activities, clay shooting, kayaking, archery and mountain bike trails. We've already book a week for next year.
