Red Horse Mountain Ranch is an amazing place for everyone. The staff is welcoming, helpful, great with kids, flexible with requests and friendly. The horse back riding is first rate, all the activities were well organized and fun. We all loved the archery, horses, mega zip, challenge corse basically everything! The wine dinner was a huge surprise for parents to spend a romantic time without children.

My family and I just stayed for a week at The Red Horse Mountain Dude Ranch, it was by far one of the best family experiences I have ever had with my family. The staff was beyond accommodating from the moment we showed up until the last minutes of our stay. We were immediately greeted by Rob and Ashley when we arrived. We traveled by RV which we were nervous about but Rob directed us to a nice place to park it for the week. We were then asked if we would like anything before seeing our accommodations. We never felt rushed or hurried. The whole week they work around your schedule and make sure you are perfectly content. If you want to ride a horse you can if you want to just sit, relax, and drink cocktails you can. A big shout out to JD the bartender who was always around to make sure your drink glass did not go empty.

When it came to horseback riding you could grab a horse pretty much whenever your heart desired. John, Ariel, and their wranglers kept the horses and stables in immaculate shape. They made sure that everything was to your liking and they had a riding program for about any level of rider you could need. They even managed to make my 75 year old mother in law and father in law comfortable on a horse. If you are into riding and have little ones then this is the place for you!

While riding, the other wranglers, like Emma and Allison, kept our little ones entertained and happy. They went above and beyond to help out my family to make sure we got to ride and that our kids were safely taken care of, which now adays is a rare thing.

If horseback riding is not your thing then they have all the amenities to keep you happy. You can partake in trap shooting, bike riding, swimming, challenge courses and of course the Megazip! I was helped at almost every station by a great young man named Dawson. He was always there to help out and provide laughter, no matter what station you happened to be attending. He seemed very knowledgeable about everything on the ranch.

There was not one person on the ranch that did not go above and beyond from hospitality to wranglers. I am sure I could sit here and try and name all the helpful people but that would be a much longer write up. I almost forgot to mention the food!!!! Oh my goodness the meals were amazing and everything was customized to your diet or likings. I thought it would be meat and potatoes every night but they blew me away with the diverse menu that it seemed everyone loved. DO NOT MISS the wine dinner, 5 courses of amazing food is all I can say!

To sum it all up I give the ranch 5 stars and 6 if I could. Thank you to the staff and we will be back. If you have a large family and have dreamed of staying in a huge log house then check out the Hilltop House. Thank you again!

The staff at this resort are top notch. They really made an extra effort to make sure our week went smoothly. We had a special family situation and they worked hard to help us out in many different ways. We had an absolutely amazing time and there was something for everyone to do. The food was delicious and I appreciated the variety - they made it easy to eat healthy so I could save up for wine in the evenings! The beds were comfortable and it was easy to walk everywhere. They offered shuttles for those that were a little unsteady or needed some extra assistance. I was thrilled that you could take a riding test and had the ability to go on advanced horseback rides where you could do more than just walking. The kids took some lessons in the arena (in addition to trail rides) and the staff was so much fun. My daughter giggled as she rode backwards in the saddle, stood up, did a backwards flip off the saddle, and even slid off the back of the horse. I loved mountain biking, ropes course, morning hikes, yoga, advanced horseback rides, and relaxing while the kids swam in the pool. Everyone had a wonderful time and we would all do it again!

We were on a family girl's trip during a fall adults only week. It was a blast!!! I spent my 70th birthday with them and couldn't have asked for a better birthday...on top of a horse, on a mountain with a gorgeous view. Wow! Everyone there, from staff to other guests made it a special day. I can't say enough about how great the staff was, from wranglers to kitchen to hospitality (including the bar tender of course) to those we didn't really see. It takes them all to make that great little world go around. Rob, you and Ashley have assembled a fantastic team. I was really impressed by the way they all were friends, not just co-workers, and how they all seem to pitch in and do whatever needed to be done. Everyone went out of their way to make our stay wonderful, and y'all succeeded.
I went riding every chance I had and loved it. I also really did enjoy kayaking and the zip line was awesome. I had never done it before, but the coach at the top make it easy to "just step off". Some of the rest of our group did some clay shooting and archery and got a massage and they all enjoyed those also. The food was so good, we couldn't help eating too much, and three times a day at that. The only reason we did not gain weight was the fact we stayed so active, and that was our choice and we enjoyed every bit of it. You don't have to stay so active, you can R&R it too.
Oh, the cell service and internet may have been a little problem, but I knew my family could reach me if they needed to and I could get in touch with them if I needed, so I was good without it; besides, I was on vacation! Also, I did not find Covid fear a problem either.
It was really hard to leave. You can find other ranches or other mountains, but I don't think you can find a better group of people or atmosphere. I hope to come back and bring even more family with me. I'm glad we found you. Thank you guys for a wonderful memory.

Our family (14) just spent 7 days at a place the family rated one of the top all time vacations. Unbelievable staff that is super helpful and every time they saw you they would ask what they could get or do for you. From the horses to shotguns to archery to ? You always had something to choose to do or not. I’ve eaten at many top restaurants around the country and believe it or not this food rates right up there! Our family is still talking about it. Nice lodging with comfortable beds. Everything was above expectations!

The Red Horse is one of the best managed ranches we have been to. It was like a well oiled machine! LOL The cabins were fantastic with very comfortable beds, and provided with a fridge, coffee pot, microwave. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming! They offer many activities besides horse riding, such as zip line, archery, clay shooting, moutain bikes, obstacle course, kayaking on Lake Thompson, yoga, morning hike, pottery. The horses were very well taken care of, they have a horse for every type of rider from beginner to advanced riders and offer variety of rides! The wranglers were all great and there are plenty of them to take you on a safe ride! The barn is very neat and organized with all the tack, like I haven't seen in many ranches we been too! The food was plentiful and delicious! They cater to special dietary needs! AND the desserts were outstanding! The lodge is very very nice with a deck to overlook the horses with a cup of coffee and/or a cocktail! They provide great entertainment in the evenings in the saloon, we danced our butts off on the night with a band that comes and plays on one of the nights! They play trivia and karoake on another night! Fun Fun! I highly recommend this ranch! You will not regret it! Just book it!

We just returned from a week at RHMR with me, my wife, my twin 22-year-old sons and their girlfriends. I researched 30 different guest ranches before choosing RHMR ... and I'm exceptionally pleased with my choice. We chose RHMR for the diversity of activities and the great guest reviews. We took advantage of every activity offered (horseback riding, mountain biking, archery, challenge course, clay shooting, etc) and had an absolute blast. Each activity was very well organized and fun. Across the board, the staff was excellent. Special shout-outs to Matt, Dawson, John, Allyson, Jonah, and JD. Rob and Ashley, the managers, obviously do a great job running a wonderful ranch with a theme of "we try not to say no to anything a guest wants." We all came away with the sentiment that it was one of our best vacations ever.

Amazing! I am not a horse person and went due to a family trip, but this has changed my whole perspective. The best family trip with the most incredible staff! Absolutely wonderful! We felt like family the entire time, everyone was so friendly, caring and professional. The food was also amazing and it was SO obvious that the staff cared about you, the horses, and each other and were very proud of their work. The cabins were spotless, the horses loved and well cared for, and the staff always courteous and going above and beyond to make your experience incredible. The other guests were also fantastic. This was the most life changing experience. We can’t wait to go back.

This dude ranch resort was well worth the travel distance and expense. Even with all of the barriers with Covid 19, the team at the ranch made sure each person’s experience was super. Hope to go back in the near future with friends.

I took my 10 year old granddaughter to the ranch. Every aspect of the vacation far exceeded my expectations. The pre-trip contact was excellent. I can’t say enough about each and every staff member.
We participated in activities we never thought we would. The horseback riding was extraordinary. The patience and expertise of the wranglers was wonderful. There is such a variety of activities: archery, skeet shooting, zip line, etc.
A special thanks to the kitchen staff. The food was plentiful, delicious and they accommodated my granddaughter’s allergies.
The room was quite comfortable and well appointed. The view from our room was spectacular.
Thank you to everyone at Red Horse Mountain Ranch for the vacation of a lifetime.

Do you have fly fishing
Answer from cmk_353
Manchester, Washington2 contributions1 helpful vote
RHMR offered lessons on using a fly rod. They did offer arranging fishing (catch and release) and guide at an added cost. I don't know what the extra cost would be as I didn't go fishing. I would contact The Ranch directly. I encourage you to go! We had a wonderful week! Everything was 5-star and I plan to go again this year,

Thanks to our answers above and yes, they are both correct. The ranch operates on the assumption of only a certain number of guests each season and gives us the ability to offer the Pre-Season rate. That is without question, the best group rate we offer. A family of your size has everything they need, everything they'll want, and essentially the ranch at it's fingertips. This same thing we promise to a family of three and everyone in between. I sure hope you'll consider us. Thank you for the question and the responses!
