Our room was at the very top of residence. We had our own bathroom. It only had a tub no shower. The room temperature was very good. The location is great. You can walk downtown to many shops and restaurants. You can also walk down to the lake. Breakfast every day was tasty. They also had a fridge in the kitchen where you could help yourself to water or an apple. Both nights we were there we sat outside on the porch with a drink and watched people walking by. Very peaceful. There were a lot of steps to our room but that was not a big deal for us. Car parking is only on the street but we never had a problem finding a spot nearby. Would highly recommend.
Normally, I avoid negative reviews. For the price, Blackwell is overrated. Breakfast really mediocre. Room was ok, nothing special. That said, location is primo and CDA certain worth visiting. A good upgrade for this price point would be bikes for guests, as biking opportunities are excellent in the area.
Our stay at the Blackwell Boutique Hotel was outstanding. The staff was warm and welcoming, and our accommodations were so comfortable. Breakfast is very well presented and simply delicious. We love the sophicated decor and upscale ambience. General Manager Molly and Events Manager Marissa were so gracious and helpful with our requests. Hotel owners Bill and Shannon have created an impressive culture of hospitality and are hands on in operations. We loved meeting them. We enjoyed a most memorable experience during our stay. Recommended.
Great remodeled hotel but with some modern furnishings. Two family couples traveling through but wanted to see Coeur d'Alene. The hotel is within walking distance of downtown restaurants & shopping. The bed was comfortable & room nice. The staff were courteous & helpful. Breakfast was wonderful with a good selection.
The Blackwell is a charming little hotel. Lots of character with a very hospitable atmosphere. Molly was delightful and very welcoming. Breakfast was a nice treat. We had a lovely stay! Thanks again :)
We had the best room in the house, the master suite. Gorgeous! And breakfast certificate for a restaurant in town that was excellent. Easy street parking. Comfy king bed and huge bathroom. Snacks available for guests in the kitchen. One small note - there was construction down the street, and I heard hammering at 6 a.m., but my husband slept through it!
Beautiful area of Coeur d'Alene! Lovely home. Location is everything! We have stayed here before. The carriage house room we stayed in twice now and it is starting to get a little "tired" but small maintenance items if taken care of will keep the property looking exceptional, ie burned out lights, hair dryer in room sparked when used, bathroom sinks looking discolored and chipped. However these are minor. Breakfast is horribly disappointing. Yogurt and store bough bagels with grey scrambled eggs and nasty sausage is not the level of breakfast that i have had a other boutique bed and breakfast. I feel this is a missed opportunity. They should be supporting local and getting fresh pastries and farm house fresh breakfast ideas, team up with a local bakery and chef and showcase what Coeur d'Alene has to offer. For the price you pay for the night you would think it would be better. However again, we were close to many fabulous coffee and breakfast options up the street and were able to support those restaurants. Love the city and will stay here again.…
We stayed in the King Suite (room 1). The room and furnishings are beautiful, clearly maintained and were very clean. Soft robes were provided, and the bed was comfortable. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was delicious. It was buffet style, and the offerings appeared to be of a higher quality than your average hotel buffet. We will stay there again.
We have been coming to CDA to visit for the past 10 years and this was absolutely my favorite location to stay! We stayed in the carriage house and it was just so perfect. The rooms are spacious, easily accessible, location is perfect to walk right into downtown and the staff was so friendly! I absolutely cannot wait to come back.
The location is great, the decor is fantastic. Our room was comfortable and gorgeous. I loved the game room downstairs, the pool table on the first floor, the semi-open kitchen, and the two couch-and-fireplace areas. Very comfortable. However, the pre-check in agreement I had to sign was a bit much, and combined with the signs all over everything made me feel a little bit like they expected me to act like a naughty child in the china shop, so to speak. Check in was difficult, and the keypad to the door caused myself and every other patron WAY too much difficulty. And sadly, breakfast was not awesome. Not horrible, but for the price, I really expected more than greasy eggs, frozen waffles, and pre-packaged baked goods. My stay was ok, but I'll probably go somewhere else next time. Wouldn't recommend. Not worth the price tag.…
