The Inn at 500 Capitol is celebrated for its unique charm and cozy atmosphere, with each themed room adding a touch of elegance. The staff's professionalism and the complimentary perks, like shuttles and valet services, are frequently commended by guests. While the rooms are generally admired for their comfort and cleanliness, there are occasional remarks about noise and housekeeping. Although the hotel's cleanliness and central location earn high marks, with easy access to downtown hotspots, some guests feel the value is lessened by unexpected fees and pricey amenities.

We had a lovely stay here while in Boise. The location is perfect, walking distance to the Capitol, eighth Street pedestrian area, and art museum. The staff is welcoming and very helpful. And it’s wonderful to be able to grab free soft drinks and snacks by the front desk. Dinner at Richard’s was yummy!

From the minute you arrive the Inn at 500 you know you’ve made a great choice where to stay. Staff is incredibly friendly, you are offered a complimentary glass of wine, beer or non-alcoholic options. The room was well appointed, the bathroom had ample counter space and shower was a good size with very good water pressure.

I travel a lot with my dogs, and have traveled across the U.S. with them many times. There has never been a place more pet or human friendly than Inn at 500 Capitol. When you arrive, there is a refrigerator with various drinks and water for your enjoyment. Dogs of all sizes are welcome, and you can walk them right through the lobby with no issues. The rooms are nice and large, and mine was decorated with dog artwork throughout, and even had a large statue of a dog laying down behind my bed. I believe all the rooms had fireplaces, and the bed was very comfortable. The best part of staying at this hotel is the fact that it's right next door to a huge beautiful park with trails and a river that your dog can romp around in on a hot day. It is within walking distance of many pet-friendly restaurants with outside dining, and my only regret is that I didn't stay longer than 3 days.

This hotel is nice, but not at all the elegance that we were expecting. For the price, we expected lush towels, views from the window, even just a mint on the pillow or something to make it feel special.

The lobby is being renovated and the floors were torn out. Josh was working the front desk upon arrival and was very helpful. He did a great job.

Valet parking is the only option and costs $22 a day.

The room was small and there was no tub as the pictures had shown. There is also no pool or hot tub, which is all I really wanted...somewhere to soak.

I did love that the rooms had been cleaned pretty well and housekeeping did a great job of putting sanitized items in a bag. The phones in the room did not work when I tried to call the front desk, but I was able to get ahold of them and order waters. :-) They delivered them through a cabinet in the wall, which was a lot of fun!

All in all, it was nice. The sheets were beautiful and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was set up with care and housekeeping had done a great job. The front desk service was friendly as was the valet check in/out.

I do not think I would return simply because across the street, for quite a bit less money, we can have a larger room, a hot tub, a smart tv, and a complimentary breakfast.

We had originally asked for double beds but had to settle for a suite with a roll up sofa so my wife and I could sleep in separate beds. We had to pay an extra $200 or so for the suite because there were no rooms with double queens. Unfortunately, the roll out sofa was not only unmade but there was no bedding either. Try to reach housekeeping but phone was inoperative (mentioned earlier). We next called the front desk and the person advised us that house keeping had left for the day (3:30 pm) but that the person at the desk or the valet would bring bedding to our room. We were asked if we were going to make the bed. Our alternative was to have the desk receptionist, valet driver, or who knows, come to our room to make the bed.
I said for them to just bring the bedding and I would make the bed.
In retrospect, I had reason to be upset over this issue. Seems as though if a customer should expect to have all the beds made up; especially after we paid $450 for the room.
The sad part is that I had booked this room on New Year's Eve as a gift to my wife. We had stayed at Inn at 500 Capitol once before a couple of years ago and had a wonderful experience.
Part of our intent was to help the hotel by giving them some business is this terrible Covid-19 experience. Although the room was clean, our experience was less than favorable and we will most likely avoid the Inn at 500 Capitol in the future.
Disappointed.

We booked the Residence Penthouse for 3 nights but checked out after the first night after zero sleep. The windows are not soundproofed and the traffic was extremely loud. The thermostat in the room kept shutting itself off after a few hours. At 2:30am it was 77 degrees in our room despite being set at 70 and the a/c running when we went to bed. After realizing the unit had turned off I turned it back on and the a/c thankfully starting running again. At 7am the room was back up to 72 degrees and the thermostat on/off light was once again unlit. The front desk offered to have maintenance look at the thermostat for us but we opted to pay the $100 early checkout fee as the traffic noise was too much for us. We've stayed at the hotels (Hampton Inn and Residence Inn) across the street and do not recall hearing any traffic noise. Disappointing. I hope Boise gets an actual nice hotel sometime soon. We visit 5-6 times per year to see family and the lack of a good hotel is my biggest complaint about Boise.

I have always wanted to stay here because of its quaint European appearance with the lovely flowers hanging from the balconies. Not only is the exterior lovely but the interior exceeded my expectations!! Our room was beautifully appointed with a great view of the Capitol! The gym was sufficiently equipped and the 2nd floor outside bar was a great place to unwind. For some, the valet parking price might be steep but we loved the location, walking distance to cute shopping, restaurants, and a must-see museum next door!!

After a very long road trip, it was a pleasure to rest at the Inn at 500. The staff was welcoming and friendly. The rooms are very spacious and have great views. The linens are luxurious and beds very comfortable. The dumb waiter for room service is a fun and unique addition to the room. The large windows at the end of the hallways allow for great views and give an open feeling. And you get to pick up a bag of ice in the hallway 'fridge without making lots of noise getting ice from a machine!

The hotel is beautiful and filled with staff who are very attentive. If only the hotel operations could keep up with the front desk staff. Had it not been for the Front Desk staff, the rating would have dropped to a 1 or 2. None of the failures can be attributed to COVID-19, as safety measures were strictly adhered to and the cleanliness of the hotel was fantastic.

Operations Failures (preventable):
1. NO HOT WATER AT 6 AM. Thought I was having an issue with the shower function, so tried to strike hot water in the sink...…...nothing. Not even warmish.
2. Local TV Stations and a few typical stations were not available, as the subscriptions had expired. The note on the screen said the hotel was working on the problem.

Hotel Issue (not preventable):
1. My fourth floor room was infiltrated with quite a bit of street noise, and this during the COVID-19 shutdown.

I like the hotel concept and the people can make a big difference, but hot water shouldn't be considered a luxury item.

We have now stayed at this hotel 4 times as we "pass thru" Idaho while traveling. The only real problem with this hotel is the lack of vehicle parking. They DO NOT actually have any. So it is a game of "musical cars" where they continually move them around in the hotel driveway, the restaurant parking lot, the street, or a parking lot in back of the building down an ally. A real pain because I like to park my car and lock it myself. A good point is that I have never seen any "emotional support animals" in the hotel so the rooms do not smell like someone's stinky dog like so many other rooms in hotels where they cater to the "emotionally insecure people" that must drag around a dog the size of a small pony with them when they travel.
