First off, I rarely EVER EVER write a poor review BUT I seriously recommend this “resort” needs to update not only its rooms but it’s housekeeping and cleanliness in the “resort” rooms. I’m absolutely convinced without a doubt that our room had bedbugs as well as two rather large spiders and a mouse (though cute) on the floor at our room door in the hallway. The towels smelled weird as well. I did call and update them of the bed bug complaint and they comped me one night stay but that will not even come close to the hassle of washing absolutely everything when we get home, not to mention the “bites” this has caused! Gross! Over all, I highly doubt I will EVER stay again unless I’m desperate for accommodations. Though other than that, the resort itself is very pretty. I’d love to write a very different review, however I honestly cannot. I hope your experience is better than ours. Thank heavens for hydrocortisone and tea tree oil!

Response from Brasstown Staff, General Manager at Brasstown Valley Resort & Spa

I apologize for the poor lodging experience you had as our guest this past week. I will be inspecting the room with my Housekeeping and Engineering Manager this morning regarding your concern that the room has bedbugs. I have also contacted Orkin to assist in addressing your concern and the mouse you saw in the guest room corridor. I will ensure that the room attendant responsible for servicing your room is made aware of the cleaning concerns and retrained. We will address each short coming with a focus on immediate improvement. It is my hope you will consider allowing us the opportunity to regain your confidence in the future. Brasstown Resort and Equani Spa are places to don't want to miss. The beauty of the mountains as you walk around the perfectly groomed property are a complete treasure. Fine dinning at the resort is excellent. Complete your stay with a facial, sugar scrub or a massage. Enjoy all three and leave with a feeling of complete relaxtion and refreshed by the cool mountain air. This is one place that I will definately visit again and again.

My wife and I recently visited. Lots of amenities to choose from including golf, swimming (both indoor/outdoor pool), hot tub, hiking, horse back riding, tennis, spa, game room, fitness center and tennis. We enjoyed meals at both the on-site restaurant as well as Brassies grill. All the employees were very friendly and accommodating. Our room in the lodge was clean and comfortable. The resort provides a peaceful stress free environment. We enjoyed hiking but our favorite activity was watching the sunset from our rocking chairs on the back deck. The Mountain View’s are spectacular. We had a fantastic time and look forward to our next visit to this family friendly resort.

We stayed for a weekend and the property more than met our expectations. It was beautiful and very well kept. The lodge is rustic and I imagine in cooler months must be a welcome place with the giant fireplace roaring. We stayed in a cottage which was roomy and felt like we were out privately in the woods. Nice accommodations, although needed a bit of an update. Clean and well appointed - refrigerator, microwave, plenty of towels, shampoo, conditioner, etc. We ate at both restaurants and I swear, it was some of the best food I have ever had! The prime rib buffet on Saturday night was so good, and the foods on the buffet were excellent choices. The Brassie grill was excellent as well, and we really enjoyed sitting outside on the patio. The service was also excellent. You can watch the sunset off the patio and many people gathered for it and it was wonderful. We also enjoyed the pool area. The hotel is located around many hiking trails and waterfall areas. There are also trails on the property to hike.
