Great location Dave was an amazing host the staff were more than happy to help with anything problems getting good food Western-style in Lombok but Dave has the best food great breakfast great steak reasonable price. The room was good very clean amazing bed. even though this is a surf resort we were travelling through Indonesia on a motorbike they recommended a snorkelling trip reasonable price so amazing wildlife great value

I travelled to Lombok with a friend primarily for a surf holiday and stayed at Ekas Surf Resort run by Dave and Melissa. We had a wonderfull time at the resort and in the waters of the remarkably large Ekas Bay located to the south east of the island which has wonderfull views of Mount Rinjani rising to 3700 metres located to the north of the island usually visible in the morning and evening.
Our stay at Ekas Surf Resort was for seven days and the accomodation and food were excellent and all our transfers were well organised by the resort. The resort is located a short walk from Ekas Bay and our breakfast all our unlimited boat transfers out to surf Inside Ekas twice on a daily basis were included in our very reasonable package. The lunch and dinner menu and food and drinks were great value and included Indonesian and western style food and the locally caught Jack fish and Giant Trevally were delicious. This resort is small and intimate in scale and run with great efficiency by Dave and Melissa.

Prepare for an amazing stay with the crew at Ekas Surf Resort.
A family friendly, clean environment that caters for everyone whether travelling solo or with a group.
Activities include: Surfing, snorkelling and visiting secret waterfalls under the supervision and guidance of a well trained and experienced professional team. There is also a beautiful swimming pool in the complex with tanning beds to spend down time relaxing with friends and family should you wish.
The food is certainly the best in the area and is prepared in a kitchen with high cleanliness and sanitation standards! A big plus towards curating the perfect surf trip!
The facilities and staff service are A-grade. Air conditioning in every room with clean, comfortable beds and own bathrooms that ensure a well rested surfer in the morning!
Simply put - Ekas Surf Resort is the best option in the area for a surf trip out here.

We came for 4 days & stayed for 10! We didn’t want to leave. Fabulous little hotel that has the intimacy of a BnB but the privacy of a hotel. The hosts are always around to help in any way needed: from advice on best surf location each day to organising snorkelling tours, scooters, drivers, airport transfers etc. The staff are super friendly & helpful. The food is excellent & the rooms are sparkling clean. Set in the middle of a quiet rural village with the beach just a short walk down the hill & several other beaches within 5 minutes ride/drive. Can’t wait to come back!

The Ekas Surf Resort is highly recommended for all looking to surf, snorkel, visit the sites on Lombok or just chill. The location is great for surfing given that its only a 5 minute walk to Ekas beach followed by a short ride out to the Inside- or Outside Ekas reef breaks on the resort boat or a 5 minute drive to Kura-Kura beach.
The family room was spacious and very comfortable. The food served at the resort restaurant is great quality, scrumptious and well plated. Melissa, Dave and all of the Ekas Surf Resort staff went above and beyond expectations to ensure our 5 day stay over Xmas was truly enjoyable– many thanks!

This is what I dreamt of: best surf holiday ever. Amazing waves 5-6ft every day and virtually no one out but me.
Amazing food was absolutely fresh, delicious and impeccably presented.
Such Wonderful friendly hosts & staff, plus super comfortable & clean accommodation, with AC, wi fi, surf movies and a pool table. Great surfers massages kept me relaxed & amped for the next session.
Best surf holiday ever!!!!It is a must and should be added onto everyone’s bucket list👌

If you’re looking for a surf resort in Lombok (or even Indonesia) look no further. Run by a lovely and personable South African couple (Melissa and Dave), Eka’s Surf Resort offers an amazing location, wonderful food, local staff, hospitality, and fantastic surf coaching. I booked the all-inclusive Surf Camp package which was worth every dollar.
Location: The resort is located in a very small village, within 5 minutes of multiple surf breaks (Dagong’s, Kura Kura, outside Eka’s, inside Eka’s, Eka’s beach break). Accordingly, the surfing suits all levels, beginners, intermediates and advanced. Although it may seem daunting to be away from the main town of Kuta Lombok, Eka’s location is far superior and allows surfing at all times of the day.
Surfing: The resort offers a week long surf camp which includes meals, surf coach lessons, surf guiding, videography, excursions and theory sessions. I was travelling solo and this was the perfect option for me, it felt like I was surfing with old friends. The resort provides a boat service which will take you to some of the breaks at any time of the day. The other breaks are a short scooter ride (Eka’s Resort rents scooters).
Huge shout out to the surf guides Amir and Ahir, who were extremely helpful and friendly to surf with for my whole stay. Also to Ewan, the surf coach, and Dave who levelled my surfing up in such a short period through a mix of in-water coaching and on land coaching (surf skate and video playback).
Resort: Most importantly, the staff here are exceptional. They make you feel at home, and treat you like an old friend, whilst catering to your every need. Thank you to, Iskanda, Effie, Mousea and Pashere (apologies for incorrectly spelt names and to those I missed).
The rooms are clean, functional, comfortable and perfect for relaxing after a huge day in the water (air conditioned of course).
The restaurant/cafe space is awesome, with a great pool and chill out area.
The food is exceptional and so is the chef. Locally sourced organic foods with a mix of Indonesian and western options are available, I loved every meal especially the Beef Rendang and Nasi Goreng.

This is my 2nd time back at Ekas Surf Resort and I'm having an awesome time. The rooms are luxurious, clean & comfortable with AC, hot water & a bar fridge.
Dave is super knowledgeable about the various waves and had ensured that I've had the best waves of my life with very few people in the water.
The wi fi is not bad but the food is unbelievably good with a great selection of western & Indonesian food. Seriously got to be the tastiest and best presented food on Lombok.
It was my birthday and they surprised me with a birthday Yummy cake.
Thanks to all the friendly staff who made me feel like Ekas resort is my home. See you all again soon!

I don't really write reviews but this place deserves it. We stayed here for only 4 nights, I so wish it was a lot more! We booked it as a place to stay for the 2023 Indonesian MotoGP which is about an hours drive away from the hotel to the circuit. It was only our last day on the island that we managed to explore further the surrounding area. The room was great, spacious, clean, tidy and just worked very well for us. The staff where very good and eager to please with our many requests. They where excellent for keeping tabs on our requests for Bingtang (Lots) and food which was of excellent quality. We asked for assistance with a daily taxi service to and from the hotel which we shared with our new friends also going to the MotoGP. This was organised by the hotel and it just happened every day without issue. On our last day the hotel organised a driver for us to see as many places we could cram into before our dash for the airport and it was all for a great price. I would definitely stay here again without question, loved it.

Highly recommend staying here. Melissa, Dave and all of the staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a good stay. We booked 2 weeks but ended up staying a month. Ekas is a perfect spot for surfing of all levels and kiting. It was only a 5 min walk to the beach where you can surf the beach break if it’s big enough or get the Ekas Surf Resort boat out to the reef break.
It’s a good place to stay if you’re travelling alone too. We loved the barbecues they regularly put on for the guests to socialise too. The food was awesome, plenty to choose from on the Menu, comfy bed, good air con and very clean. We’ll be back!
