Detailed Reviews
What a fantastic quiet place to spend time with family and friends. Tons of privacy and a very nice pool. Breakfast was fantastic everyday with a very nice variety over the 5 days we were there. Only a very short walk to the beach less than a block to private entrance, not rocky like a lot of other beaches on Tybee. Owners were super nice and addressed all our needs in a very timely fashion and were very open about the places to eat and the places to avoid which is just as important.
Great Coffee!!!
Will definitely visit again

We stayed two nights at the tail end of our vacation to Savannah and I'm so glad we did! The historic home is full of period details and beautifully decorated in a light and airy coastal style. It's meticulously clean and well maintained. We stayed in the sand dollar room, which bay be the smallest room, but it was absolutely charming, and for just a couple night stay, we didn't mind the small size. The room was light and bright with many windows, a four-poster bed and a large soaking tub in the bathroom. Megan, our host, was friendly and helpful, but not intrusive. We felt welcomed and well cared for. We only got to experience on breakfast due to an early departure, but it was amazing! Plenty of fresh food, delicious and beautifully presented. We live on the west coast, but I'd make another long trip here just to stay at this lovely inn.

We saw this B&B as a prize on The Price is Right last year and my wife started to investigate the B&B and she was very impressed with what she found so we made a reservation for May this year.
We reserved the Tropical Garden room. It is on the ground floor with a private entrance. It is a very cozy room with a queen bed. The bed was very comfortable.
There is a large wrap around porch with extremely comfortable cushions on the outdoor furniture.
The breakfasts were delicious! Megan is a fantastic chef. She is very outgoing and happy. She asks if there are any special dietary restrictions and if you have any preferences for fruits or other things for breakfast. Jeremy is also very friendly and can tell you about the history of the home. They are a terrific family.
If you are planning to go to the south end of the island for food or entertainment be aware that you have to pay to park anywhere down there. Do not despair. You don't have to carry a large bag of quarters with you. Download the Park TYB app on your phone and put in your tag number and state of registration along with your phone number. After you submit that, they will send you a confirmation number that you type in and you will have an account. When we get ready to park just pull up the app and put in how long you will be there and your credit card number and viola you are good to go. If you need to add time you can do that as well.
The home is located on Officers Row on Tybee Island.
We enjoyed a nice evening walk on the beach.
We love it here and plan to return.

Leaving a positive review even though this place just wasn’t for us. We typically travel and stay and B&B’s across the US, Europe, and Latin America, so for what it’s worth here’s our review:
The pros: the beach is just a short walk down the boardwalk and Megan provides chairs, umbrellas, and beach towels. There is also a private pool overlooking the bay. The savory breakfast was great.
The cons: We felt very confined by the owner’s schedule and think Megan is more hands on than we are used to or comfortable with. For example, breakfast is right at 8:30am, and check in is from 3-6. When we travel, we like to sleep in, or have more of a casual schedule. We felt somewhat rushed out on our check out day - cleaning supplies waiting outside our door and owner reminding us several times of the check out time of 11. We do not believe the host was trying to be rude, rather the opposite, but you could tell she runs a tight ship, and expects everyone to be at breakfast on time and eat what is served (the Owner made a comment to another guest we were sitting with for not finishing her meal, and then praised her partner kudos finishing his breakfast - for a moment it felt like we were kids again? They were clearly embarrassed). I truly do not mean to throw the owner under the bus, but it’s important she understand how her behavior can make guests feel uncomfortable. Lastly, The sand dollar room was adorable and would be cute for one person, perhaps a teenager traveling with their parents. For 2 adults it was terribly small. No where to our suitcases or clothing. My husband fell in the bathtub bruising his back and elbow. We recommend the hosts put a handle bar to step in or a grippy may for standing.
For $300 a night we will rent a vacation home next time where we can go on our own schedule, eat what we wish, and have more space.

We stayed in the suite, and it was glorious. The bed was one of the most comfortable I've ever slept in. The view was breathtaking. Breakfast every morning was delicious, and the staff was so very accommodating. There are signs all over the house that read "Come as guest, leave as friends", and we absolutely feel that way. We 100% will be back for another visit ASAP. Stay here, it will not disappoint.

Tybee island definitely is a place where I would return and I would definitely stay again at Surf and Song. It is located within an easy block from “the quiet area” of the beach. We loved the third floor suite where we stayed and could view the ocean from the windows. Great hosts, delicious breakfast along with a lovely wrap around porch and area outside to relax.

+1
I was really expecting more I guess based on prior reviews. Unfortunately our experience fell short. We had the room on the first floor. It’s decent sized , but you have absolutely no privacy. In addition there was no where to put clothing. There was no dresser and only 4 hangers in the closet. So you end up stacking your clothes on the chair or where ever you find a flat surface. Meals were good and are served at precisely 8:30 each day. On the first day I requested that my portion size be cut back as I am I light eater. Each day there after when my meal was served by Megan she would say and here’s yours “kids portion “ which really was embarrassing. There was no need to point that out in front of other guests. As for the grounds themself I found they were in need of some tlc. Basic maintenance goes a long way in my book. We looked at the same cigarette butt for a week , steps were always dirty there were several dead or nearly dead plants as well as no daily cleaning of the pool. I really did not fall for the fake southern charm by Megan. And lastly we were overcharged upon arrival, they claim it was a computer error. I just felt very uncomfortable overall and would not return.

This B&B is an A+ experience! My mom and I traveled here to celebrate our 40th and 70th birthdays and we would definitely go back. We stayed in the sunrise suite and it was absolutely the best room in the house! The view is spectacular and the king bed is the comfiest bed I've ever slept in. It's worth the money to splurge and spoil yourself in this room but I will also say that every room in this place is spacious and beautiful. One morning everyone else checked out so my mom and I snooped in every room as they were cleaning :)
The location is great - we walked everywhere including restaurants (take all the recommendations they give you) and the lighthouse and museum. The beach is right across the street and they provide towels and chairs.
Breakfast every morning was delicious and they were happy to accommodate any dietary needs/preferences. It was a really nice touch to have cold drinks and a plate of snacks available all day. Everything is homemade!
The only suggestions I have for travelers is to make sure you have a water bottle and travel cup for the beach, and bring body lotion (they provide shampoo, conditioner, and body wash.)

The place was nice with a superb location. The grounds and landscape need attention for a more welcoming environment. The Sand Dollar room was very small, but the real problem is the lack of efficient use of the small space. It would be worthwhile to invest in smart space furniture that would help the room feel less cramped and provide places for luggage and belongings. Otherwise we had a positive experience. We did enjoy the homemade treats and hearty breakfasts. The location is awesome because the lighthouse, the museum and beach are all within walking distance. Can't forget to mention the soft and comfortable linens and towels - super nice. Definitely a very enjoyable stay.
