We had our daughters wedding this past week. There is not enough I can say about how wonderful it was. Billy and his staff kept up with every detail - the grounds are spectacular - every detail of the wedding went off without a hitch - however it was Chef Tammy that made the event shine. I am a very picky eater - I have never had such incredible food - there was no need for salt and pepper - perfect seasonings - three meals knocked it out of the ball park - our guests all complimented the food. Great Job !
Attended a seefriend's wedding in April 2021. Everything about this property is amazing. Miss Kim (the owner) and Gabby her daughter made this week for our whole wedding party nothing short of utopia. Thank you for everything.
My husband and I stayed in the Honeymoon Cottage for a quick getaway. We ordered 3-course room service. Everything was so nice! The food was delicious. The service was quick and helpful. Everything was clean and comfortable. We will definitely return!
For $323 (total) a night, I think this is a bomb. Our room was very clean, bathroom updated and clean, with an abundance of supplies. The bed was amazing and the pillows were also great. The staff was friendly and helpful. That's everything nice I can say, and it does sound great, right? Well, if the people upstairs are awake, you're awake. We were awake at 3:30 am both nights we were there. If anyone walked in their room next door, we heard it (pretty, hardwood floors). Once, a door slammed and I watched my drink on the table almost spill itself. I am not exaggerating here. If anyone talked outside, we heard heard it clearly through the old walls and single-pane windows. The room was lit by two 40-watt bulbs. There was a bedside lamp, but we had to unplug it since only one of the two plug-in spots worked. The sink was slow to drain. The towel holder fell off the wall. The cabinetry is painted plywood. Watching a movie all the way through is not possible with their internet lags interrupting it. Turn up the TV volume if the heater comes on. It's loud. There is no restaurant or bar on premises, so we had to go into town for each meal (ten minutes and there are some great restaurants in Thomasville) and bring our own drinks from home or the restaurants. There is room service if you let them know what you want to eat at least a week in advance. It rained while we were there and the quaint, unpaved roads became a mud bath. Walking to and from the car to our room through the muck was not fun. We went straight to the car wash after checking out. The old oak trees with moss hanging and twinkle lights hung are charming and beautiful. They surround the individual buildings that hold the hotel rooms. It reminds me of church camps when I was growing up. That kind of grouping of buildings. (see photos I uploaded) Make your own decision after my honest review.…
I was curious about this place so I contacted them. The lady I talked to was incredibly rude. If you do a basic Google search you can learn more about the owner and place. It's 2021...let's stop romanticizing plantation weddings. It's disgusting. It's nice many bridal website are starting to raise the concern. I don't see this place lasting very long.
Such a beautiful property & beautiful setting! The staff were so helpful and nice. They were always asking if we needed anything. The rooms are comfortable and the food was delicious! Highly recommend!!
Daughter found her dream location, scheduled to view the location but the only person who showed up was the cook, do not get me wrong she was wonderful and the location was exactly what we wanted. Told our date was available but within an hour of leaving our date was no longer available but that was okay as we were flexible, asked for a break down of prices and was told they were busy and it would take 2 weeks to get that to us, I do not understand why they don't have a basic price list on a pdf file, almost 4 weeks later still waiting.... thankfully we found another venue that was more cooperative
I surprised my husband with a trip to South Eden this weekend and it was one of the best times we have ever had together! The staff were so helpful and kind with my last minute booking and everyone was so nice while we were there. The taste of Eden experience was so much fun and the food was so good. The grounds are gorgeous and the stateside suite was so relaxing and inviting. We will be returning again on a regular basis. Thank you for a wonderful weekend!
Everything was amazing! The property, the room, the staff..A++++ Chf Tammy took us on a tour of the kitchen...and we had the best waitress at the Cream of the Crop Cafe! Took a walk around the grounds in the morning..stunning! Highly recommend!
My family and I have been staying at South Eden Plantation for three years now! The staff has been nothing but helpful each stay and we love it even more each time. South Eden is a beautiful setting with lovely rooms and decor. The cafe on site is charming with delicious food made by the chef and yummy homemade ice cream. South Eden plantation is a perfect destination!
