WE JUST GOT BACK FROM FLAT CREEK LODGE TODAY 6/4/2017 IF YOU WANT A QUITE AND RELAXING PLACE TO STAY ..THIS IS IT.This ad is a little misleading. the dairy is closed.the peacock and ginny pens are closed..carts are not workingThe only recreation was fishing in the several ponds... they have bikes for riding around the property. The staff is very friendly....rooms are clean and the food from the restaurant was excellent.the rib eye and hamburger steaks were cooked to perfection. The rooms each has a theme and are very rustic...no tv...poor cell phone reception in the rooms. They do have wifi and you can make calls if you are using it.They will provide you breakfast each morning and also provide free ice and fish bait.we would go back again just to get away from it all. We enjoyed feeding the ducks and swans. We also enjoyed the sound of the one working water fountain in the evenings when it was on.All in all we enjoyed our stay/The owners need to improve the curb appeal and get some much needed maintenance done on the fountains and lodge exterior. ONCE YOU TURN OFF THE MAIN ROAD YOU WILL TRAVEL DOWN A DIRT ROAD APPROX 5 MILES THAT IS IN NEED OF SCRAPING....TAKE YOUR TRUCK IF YOU HAVE ONE INSTEAD OF A CAR. The picture of the lodge is several years old.A little maintanence and repair and I would give them 5 stars.

I took my boyfriend for his 22nd, it was a blast! We stayed in the Swan Cottage, 2 bedrooms with a beautiful patio for fishing and sitting. There was a 2 seater golf cart available to get around the resort, so we didn't have to walk. The fishing was fun, there were over 3 ponds available to fish in, however I do believe we found more. On our last day we went clay shooting which was amazing because I never shot a gun before. The most important part was that my boyfriend had an awesome birthday celebration, fishing and shooting. The staff made our experience so much more enjoyable. We will definitely be back to go hunting!

We just stayed for the 2nd time at the Redbreast cabin at FCL. The last time was Oct 2016. We went again for the fishing, with my husband and 14 year old son. The cabin was great, Two bedrooms with 2 double beds, very spacious. Both bedrooms have their own bathroom. There is a nice sitting area. The cabins are on a big pond and all have nice porches you can fish off of. Our porch was the only thing in the cabin that really needs repair. The boys had fun fishing off of the porch catching sunfish. They gave us one of the property golf carts that are still running. If I was giving advice to the lodge I would say that the golf carts are part of the whole experience staying there. It is fun to load your fishing poles and bait and moving from place to place to fish on the property. I really hope they fix them as I would not enjoy my stay 1/2 as much without one. The fishing at the catfish pond was wonderful as we caught a lot of catfish and it was so much fun. We ate at the restaurant twice for dinner. I think the menu is overpriced for the food that is fine but nothing special. Though the alligator tail appetizer was Excellent! The best thing about this place are the people that work there. From the check-in to the waitstaff to the cleaning staff everyone is so nice and friendly and really attend to your needs. They are the best. I would definitely go again and stay at Flat Creek for the fishing and to relax.

This hotel is beautiful and on nice land. If you plan to go though, I would discuss the amenities with the company in advance. Many things were closed when we came. Very few staff present. I asked about fishing poles and nobody knew where they were. There was no map or guide to any of it. Main suggestion is to accept online booking to get it more busy. I'd love to have this as an option as I come to the town once a year.

Hurricane Matthew forced us to change our girls getaway from HHI, so we chose The Flat Creek Lodge & we are so thankful for that! It's such a beautiful, peaceful place & a perfect get away to truly relax! We had a great weekend relaxing on the porch overlooking water, riding golf carts around the property, & eating lots of wonderful food at the restaurant. All of the staff members went above & beyond. We can't wait to come back with our husbands!!
