When we got into the room it smelled so awfully musty. It was very late and we were so tired we decided not to ask to move rooms. I sprayed perfume to try to mask it. When I closed the curtains this is what I saw!!!! In the morning I showed the front desk and they said they'd have a manager call me. No one ever did.
Hotel is close to GSU, shopping, and restaurants. This hotel needs to be updated, BAD!!! Our room really showed wear and tear....stains on carpet, tile and carpet had a gap, bathtub had some weird patch or missing part of its finish. Would I stay here again? No, there are nicer places in the area, and they are newer. I should have done my research.
The room was an average room, nothing special, with a fairly comfortable bed. That’s where the positives end. Problems started at check-in. I had booked a two night stay through Priceline. The reservation was paid for in advance on 1/25. The girl at check in had the reservation but had problems getting authorization from the Priceline folks. I explained the prepayment and she stated that she would figure it out. We went to our room and received two different calls from the desk about the Issue. She then said I had to call the 3rd party billing people to sort it out. This was 10:30pm. I called and was told it would get straightened out. The next morning I checked by the desk only to find out that nothing was straightedges out. The morning desk clerk said she would do whatever was needed to fix it and that it was between the hotel and the Priceline people and I was not in the loop. So, this morning, as I was checking out I asked the same morning clerk if everything was all ok and she told me that she would make it ok and not to worry. When people tell me not to worry, I worry. A few hours later, as I was traveling home, I received notification that my credit card, which I had given for incidentals, had been charged 3 times for a total of over $135.00. I called the hotel to talk to the clerk and she denied charging my card but said she would “fiddle” with it to fix it. She also said she would call me back. I also explained that I would need to file a fraud report if she didn’t fix it and call me back. She responded that I should do what I needed to do. So, as I type this, I have had to file a fraud report with my credit card company. This was an obvious attempt to defraud me when their efforts to settle with Priceline failed. Do not do business with these folks because there is a lot of incompetence within the organization.…
Nice hotel but with some age. Cons-it feels older, needs some remodeling, only service rooms every 3 days unless you call down to the desk, pros - comfortable room- spacious- nice folks work there- adequate breakfast
Visited this hotel for parents weekend at Georgia Southern and had some extra guests that came with the room. Minding my own business about to shower when out of nowhere the grand puba of ROACHES crawls out. #goodbye
My one night stay was awful. I Checked in late. Room was cold so turned off air and woke up to irritated eyes and runny nose. My grand and I had a restless night because we were itchy. Room 118 was moldy smell. Carpet was stained as well as walls. Towel seemed washed but was stained. Shower rusted and tub peeling. Unbelievable that Comfort Inn and Suites would be horrible. We just had our Green family reunion and stayed at Comfort Inn and Suites in Sylva,NC. We had about 10 rooms reserved and it was an excellent 4days stay. This is why my choice is Comfort Inn and Suites. I'm so upset and will let staff know and want a refund. Pics included.
For $200/night price range I would expect much better. Front desk staff seemed annoyed we were checking in-did not greet/stand up. She looked like she had PJs on. Room smelled musty. Bathroom had hair in it, rest of room was clean. Bed was nice. Did not use sofa bed but it appeared old and saggy. Could hear traffic from room. Hotel air unit was noisy cycling on and off-it would ramp up and down instead of a constant even fan noise. Stairwell carpet was dirty with trash/leaves in stairwell. The workout room was so neglected. Could have written my name in the dust. It was overheated with the heater lid off/on the ground as if a worker HAD been there a while ago. Outside of building was moldy. Food area was very clean. Hostess there was very nice. Selection was pretty good and coffee tasted great-not weak. Holiday Inn in Statesboro was much nicer. I will go back there mext time. They were booked up when I tried to get a room there.…
Visited for parents weekend at my daughter’s GSU sorority. Have stayed at this hotel probably 10 times since my daughter enrolled and now that she’s graduating, this will be one of the last times Hotel has two parts. Main building where the front desk is located has “suites” which aren’t really suites - just a small divider in between the bed and a couch. Second building which usually has rates about $10-$15 higher has more traditional suites with a pocket door separating the bedroom and the living room which has a full sized couch Ok, this place is not the Taj. You’re not paying for the Taj so don’t go there expecting a luxury hotel experience What this is would be your normal, slightly dated, hotel experience - one step above the budget hotels and one step below say a Marriott or Hilton and two to three steps lower than a Westin Resort Has small outdoor pool - about the size of a home pool, not really what you’d expect for a hotel - but it’s never been crowded when we’ve been there I’m just giving it a 4 star because: 1) The fire alarm went off three times on Sunday morning beginning about 8:30 making us fly out of bed - extremely loud. No explanation - no nothing. It inexplicably stopped after about 20 seconds and quietly waited for us to go back to sleep before going off again. And again 2) If you’re thinking you’ll get late checkout for being a Choice Privileges Gold member - think again. We needed to stay until 1 but they told us if we wanted anything after 12, we had to pay $10 per hour. Would have thought they could suck that up after the triple fire alarm scare and also because the hotel was extremely uncrowded. Overall, it’s a hotel. It’s fairly clean - a few stray hairs around - I hate to have to clean my own room before I can even set my stuff in it - but nowadays, especially with older places - it’s gonna happen Safe travels!…
I have stayed at this hotel on two different trips and it has maintained cleanliness, extremely helpful and friendly front desk and very good location. Only minor suggestion is the breakfast is a standard hotel breakfast and could be improved. Otherwise, highly recommended.
I had to come to Statesboro for my son's college orientation. We had bit of a hectic start to our trip with my son having car problems. After a very long and stressful day, it was so nice to walk into such a friendly environment. And my room was so clean and spacious. I will definitely stay here again.
