This pub is very popular with boaters from the Oxford Canal, and the local marina, so you need to book for dinner in the evening. We booked and got the very last table: the place was really packed. Service was fast, friendly and efficient despite having so many diners. Food arrived after about 30 minutes, but was hot and clearly... More

Could do with a refurb and rooms are tired looking throughout. Staff are friendly are helpful. Food in restaurant rather expensive and meals average quality. Drinks also rather expensive eg glass of wine plus Diet Coke £6.70....prices in my opinionhigh. Breakfast was average but ok. Bedroom floor could have been cleaner as dust and grit on carpet on arrival. I... More

Have eaten here a couple of times & never been disappointed. Food is always great standard & good portions. Their Moroccan fish is an especially different & delicious dish - succulent fish with just enough spice. Only thing I change is serve it with a yoghurt dip. Good wine list & the staff are friendly & very efficient. Will definitely... More

We stayed at the Brasenose Arms last night. We arrived in time for an evening meal and really enjoyed it. The room was lovely and we had a good nights sleep in the comfy bed. Breakfast was included in price and there were several options available. We both had cereals and cooked breakfast served by the very friendly staff. There... More

Lovely food in here. I had rack of ribs which were lovely but luke warm, they were heated to piping hot in the microwave I presume as were returned very quickly. Everyone else's food was very good and plentiful. We were on a narrow boat and moored a few hundred yards away. The pub allows dogs in the bar and... More

Short walk from the canal, friendly attentive staff and good food in a proper pub. The menu has something for everyone and there is a good selection of beers. Hard to fault overall and would recommend to anyone passing on a narrow boat, with a dog.

I arrived late and stayed for only one night. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was very comfortable and the breakfast was excellent. I would recommend this inn to anyone and will use again when next in the area.

Beautiful building in absolutely gorgeous settings, dog friendly and with great and friendly and accommodating staff. I had a rack of ribs followed by the vanilla and chocolate brownie with ice cream, both of which are worth returning for on their own. Good selection of real ales and wines. The room was lovely, really well equipped with the usual teas,... More

Arrived late from London and they held the kitchen open for us and made us feel very relaxed and welcome. Great food and atmosphere and lovely accommodation. The food was fresh and tasty with large portions and the service was excellent. They even allowed us a cheeky lay in as we over slept and missed the check out time! Thank... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Brasenose Arms is a 17th century Country Inn, situated in the heart of Cropredy, a rural village just 4 miles north of Banbury, Oxfordshire. Originally three cottages, it was converted into a Public House in the late 17th century.Today, it hosts Britain's (if not Europe's) 'friendliest' music festival - Fairport's Cropredy Convention - staged every year in August by members of the great British folk band - Fairport Convention. Here they are, sitting outside the pub, for the photo on the back of their 1973 album 'Nine'. Contemporary en-suite accommodation is available in a recently converted barn. Six rooms are available - 2 Doubles, 2 Twins (1 family) and 2 Singles all with en suite showers, TV and hospitality trays. Ground floor rooms have disabled access. All rooms are strictly non-smoking. ... more   less
