The service is first rate with every possible need considered and taken care of. Staff are very friendly and helpful. With this said a 20% gratuity is charged for almost every activity, even for the breakfast buffet which you serve yourself. My wife and I stayed at the Ocean Residences which offered extreme privacy. With it's own infinity pool and... More

My husband and I just got back today from a four day weekend at Sea Island. We stayed at the Lodge, which is the sister property of the Cloister. However, my husband had a meeting at the Cloister. They had a shuttle that takes you from each of their properties that runs every 30 minutes from each hotel. Just let... More

I went here in July for a family vacation and we had a great time. The only thing I would change is the time of year we went.. It was about 110 degrees after the heat index. Despite being very hot there were a lot of activities to do. The guys went golfing a few times, there's a gun range... More

I have no words to describe this amazing place! Stay there for 4 days (3 nights) and the all time I felt like I was dreaming. The rooms are very pretty, clean and luxurious. The staff is absolutely beyond nice and polite. All the amenities (gym, stores, restaurants, etc) are extremely pretty and special. They even have a church and... More

I waited to review this property, hoping that The Cloister would address all the problems we had and try and make it up to us in some way. They sent me a survey and I couldn't have been more critical of a number of things that happened during our stay. I never heard from them. I guess they think that... More

Spent a few days here with friends. The property is loaded with old world charm. The service was spot on. The restaurants catered to every kind of fare desired. The Sporting Clays range was so much fun- with a knowledgeable and well trained staff to suit beginners as well as expert shooters.

We have been going to Sea Island for 6 plus years. Usually 2-3 times a year without kids and 1-2 times a year with our kids. The transition since 2013 has been remarkable. Additions of more and more capacity in the hotels and through increasing relationships with exclusive resorts, local residents and inspirato while ignoring the capacity of the gym,... More

A most magnificent & special place that delighted my son, daughter and wife from the moment we stepped into the spectacular lobby. The hospitality? Impeccable. Food? Unbelievably delicious. I'm not normally blown away by a hotel or resort but the Cloister at Sea Island managed to do so. A 10 star property IMHO!

We decided to stay at the main building of the Cloister, the "Garden Wing", this is the cheapest and newest wing of the property. I like to structure my reviews with "good" and "not so good" points, so here it goes: Good: I awarded this hotel 3 stars. First star was awarded for the jaw-droppingly beautiful room we received in... More

We very much enjoyed our stay. The food in the Italian restaurant was fantastic and likewise our breakfast. We enjoyed the gym and the beach and the staff was perfect. We were in town for business but extended our stay.
