What a great visit we had at the resort. From the time we entered the gate until our departure 4 days later our experience was nothing short of spectacular. The staff is amazing. The amenities are incredible. And worth every single dollar someone would spend to stay here. Will definitely be back and tell lots of friends about it.

Sea Island will never dissapoint you. We hosted 70 of our closest friends and family to celebrate our recent nuptials. They had the chance to golf, go to the spa, workout, lay by the pool, dine, walk the beach, bowl, the list goes on. We knew when we booked that this was the right decision but the overwhelming feedback from our guests solidified this decision. Thank you Sea Island!

The hotel itself is magnificent. The physical property is gorgeous. Very relaxing with amazing views. The layout takes full advantage of the natural surroundings. The staff is excellent with outstanding service. What stood out the most was how the staff spoke of how well they are treated as employees. I will definitely return.

The entire resort is beautifully maintained and designed for a restful stay. The service is top-notch and the staff attentive. There are many activities, or you can relax by the pools or on the beach. You will enjoy it either way!

The nicest, most amazing resort I’ve ever been to. The staff was very professional and courteous. Just an outstanding trip. Blew my expectations out of the water! Only thing I regret is not staying longer!

This is a beautiful resort unlike anything I have ever experienced before. My wife was attending a medical conference at the resort and her hospital paid for the stay, otherwise I could not have afforded the experience. The rooms are really like personal cottages with every possible amenity you can imagine. Queen Elizabeth, several US Presidents and other dignitaries have stayed at the resort. I’m a former history teacher and the history of the island and resort made this trip amazing for me. We were able to witness sea turtles laying eggs and that was a special experience as well. If you can afford the stay it’s an amazing place to visit. I’m thankful I was able to experience this uniquely special place.

The Cloister is on Sea Island GA. It is a private island with The Cloister, private homes and a private beach. No commercial anything. Their website and other reviews tell about the accommodations and activities better than I can. My story. One evening my wife and I were sitting in the grand lobby of The Cloister. A trio of two guitars and a base were playing music. They asked for requests. Our request was a song by a favorite artist of ours. It was great. One song led to others by this artist. It was like a private concert. The music, the ambiance, and the grandeur of the Cloister lobby was the best.

Our very first, and certainly not our last visit to The Cloister exceeded every possible expectation. From the first impression of pulling through the gates onto the property, to the welcome at the entrance to the hotel, we felt like we had come home. Valet staff and check in desk were extremely efficient. The property itself is immaculately landscaped. The massive trees, the meticulously maintained lawn edging, the urns and planters and fountains are absolutely breathtaking. Every inch is meticulously maintained and cared for. The Cloister building itself is gorgeous from the detailed wood moldings, period correct furniture, and decor in the solarium. Every inch was cleaned on the regular including the cob webs off the outdoor lanterns. Our room was in the wing not the main hotel. However we enjoyed the walk through the gardens to get to our room especially in the evenings thanks for the beautiful garden lighting. It was always quiet and peaceful with no sounds of slamming doors or flushing toilets through the walls. Every room is sound proff. Our room was impressive in size with comfortable beds, oriental carpeting and especially noted a large bathroom and closet area. Our outdoor balcony was equipped with comfortable top of the line chaise lounges as well as table and chairs. Most hotels are outfitted with run down cushions on the outdoor furniture, however at The Cloister they looked brand new. Compliments to housekeeping who did an OUTSTANDING job keeping the room clean and providing us with fresh linens and towels. We cannot say enough about the cleanliness and attentiveness of the housekeeping staff. Also to be noted is the concierge who was easy to communicate and very responsive. They went above and beyond to arrange activities and dining and were knowledgeable about the property and all it had to offer. The Cloister is best for couples or adults traveling without children as the pool is only for 21 and older. I get it, because The Cloister is a luxury resort trying to provide a sophisticated experience. However, This presents a problem for those traveling with older teens . The pool across at the beach club is for all ages but tends to be over run by families with young children. This isn’t the most relaxing for families with older children who wish to just sit and relax. Chairs were “ reserved” with magazines and sunscreen bottles by 8 or 9 AM with nobody sitting at them. The last thing anyone staying at The Cloister wants to do is wake up early and rush around trying to secure chairs. Because of this, we were limited to using only the beach during our stay. The beach was clean and offered ample chairs to relax . Beach service for food and drinks was attentive and enjoyable. We took part in several beach activities during our stay including Turtles at Dawn, shooting School and Horseback Riding. We had a ball and thought they were all well worth the cost of the experience. We enjoyed breakfast and dinner on property at several of the restaurants and were not disappointed. However, take note you need to make reservations weeks in advance of your stay as they fill up quickly. Another note which may sound silly to some but really left an impression: the products used throughout the Cloister were name brand and high quality. To clarify; Angel soft toilet paper and Kleenex tissues along with plush disposable hand towels in the public bathrooms. Small details make such a difference! Our stay at The Cloister can best be summed up by saying, we felt like we were living in a dream. Staff makes every detail important and executes things perfectly without being intrusive. In short, The Cloister has mastered the art of the luxury experience and cannot be compared to any other five star hotel experience. Many, many compliments to management, concierge, reception, housekeeping and restaurant staff for all of the work you have done in creating the ultimate experience. We truly cannot wait to return to The Cloister again in the near future. Every second of our stay was spectacular!
