We stayed at Sylvan Valley Lodge for one night to celebrate our 20th anniversary. It is located right outside of Helen in a quiet, wooded location. The lodge has a wine tasting room/eating-lounging area downstairs. Ted, the wine guy, was great. He was extremely knowledgable about all of the wines. He also recommended a great restaurant to celebrate our special... More

The pictures online represented a nicer lodge. Although our room was "renovated" the hall rugs were filthy and old. Our server at breakfast was unfriendly and wouldn't smile. More importantly, I was VERY disturbed after realizing the culprit of the overwhelming stench of urine in our bathroom was the shower curtain. When I informed the front desk. NOTHING! They still... Although this is a lodge it also has a tasting room attached. We were in Helen GA for the day and happened upon the unicoi wine trail. This was our first stop and I am so glad it was. They offered a wide range of wine and even a few beers and ciders. We ended up leaving with 4 bottles.... More

I was disappointed on this place. I paid for 2 nights. We bought a "appetizer". It turned out that the item I bought for 5 dollars was skewers. 3 baby tomatoes on each stick, maybe 3 squares of cheese on each stick about an inch by a inch along with a few small pieces of lettuce. Cabin 23 was nice.... More

Came as a getaway with my boyfriend. We came from NY in need of a secluded getaway. Well we got to Sylvan; beautiful on the outside and dining room has great views of outside while you are tasting wine or sitting down for a bite! However, I was very discouraged to find out this winery did not make their own... More

The Lodge itself has a very inviting, warm and peaceful feel to it. The staff is without a doubt committed to ensuring that you have the best visit possible. Exceptional quality: customer service, location, wines, knowledge, amenities, entertainment and a pure relaxing experience. An awesome sabbatical! I took my husband here for a special Father's Day weekend and The Sylvan... More

It has been 3 years since our last visit, and the owners have made some really nice improvements. The rooms are being upgraded, and the new furnishings are extremely attractive. The linens are wonderful. They are having an events building constructed, which will be a nice for small weddings, etc. The breakfast is as good as ever. The weather was... More

So glad Ted and Louisa are back home to White County! One of the best places to visit, stay or have a party! Incredible view of Mt Yonah from the patio which is also pet friendly. Nice array of local wines and some from outside the area too. Why drive all over when you can enjoy assorted wines under one... More
