Located a comfortable distance from the hustle and bustle of the city, The Westin Atlanta Perimeter North is often celebrated for its serene setting and elegant atmosphere. While the hotel's amenities, including its exceptional staff service and cleanliness, receive high marks, guests have noted some dining limitations and dated aspects. Accommodations at the hotel are generally well-maintained, though issues with room availability and key cards have been called out. The dedicated service provided by the staff is a highlight for many visitors, although some have experienced unexpected charges, slightly marring the overall value of their stay.

In early April of this year , our Dunwoody, Ga home suffered a devastating fire while we were out of town.
Tasked with finding a “ temporary “ ( we stayed 6 mos) place to stay that would be secure, have a restaurant on premises, as well as be dog friendly and near our burned out house, we chose this Westin.
Located on a lake in an office park in Sandy Springs , this 30 year old establishment has a seasoned staff run by professionals. From the maids that cleaned our room to the ladies who waited on us at the coffee shop plus the front office staff, we were always greeted by name with a smile and asked what they could do for us. The hotel manager Mr . Dedo Dixon charged us very fair rates which were readily accepted by our insurance company for our lengthy stay.
We found the property very clean and any requests for service were handled quickly and professionally. If I could critique anything, I would note that at least some redecorating might be advised once the pandemic subsides and business returns to normal.
Like any 30 plus old hotel property , redos are always a fact of life but rest assured this property is well maintained , comfortable, secure and inviting in the meantime!

My stay is always great at the Westin Atlanta Perimeter. Although I am away from home it feels like home. The front desk staff is amazing and very helpful. The Direct of Operations Dedo pays attention to detail and remembers his guest and their preference in choice of floor and room. Merdie in the restaurant is a true gem. If you want southern hospitality this is the hotel of choice.

We chose the Westin Perimeter North because we had stayed here for friends and family weddings in the past. This time we got to experience first hand why it is an excellent hotel for ALL your needs.

The hotel was chosen before the pandemic, and many changes had to be made because of the pandemic. My go-to girl was Caitlin Grace, Executive Meeting Manager, and she was phenomenal! We had many conversations via email and phone, and she was so easy to work with. I could not wait to meet this woman in person. Caitlin was excellent about returning phone calls and emails, and I never had had to worry that it would be days before hearing from her. When the weekend was finally here, we had to change the location of the rehearsal dinner from outside overlooking the lake to indoors, and Caitlin jumped into action. The space she selected was wonderful, just perfect. The executive chef personally came by the table to check on things; his food was outstanding.

Brooks Ore, Director of Revenue Management, was extremely helpful with our rooms. He also went up to the Presidential Suite to check on the size of the refrigerator for me. He offered to bring in another mini fridge, and it was waiting for us upon arrival.

Finally, who could forget Dedo Dixon, Direction of Operations. He recognized me every time I walked past the Front Desk (even with a mask on!) and always asked how I was doing. He IS the one you want meeting guests. His friendly, sincere personality is infectious.

In addition to all these people above, the rest of the hotel staff was courteous and helpful. I will recommend the Westin Atlanta Perimeter North to all my friends and family, and I would not hesitate to stay here again in the future.

I do think it was an overall decent stay , however , I felt like I was “nickel and dimed” for amenities that I was under the impression of being included with the stay. An example of this is parking . I was told at the desk that I’d be proactively charged for 15 dollars a night , just for parking . Then I was told internet was an additional 10 dollars a night. Breakfast is also not included in the hotel stay. The pool (which the website says is open) is NOT open . They do provide the alternative of going next door to an athletic club and using their pool at no charge . What I noticed between the hotel environment and the location, is that crowds are mainly “business travel” . I was here on a family vacation and feel like I was the only person here with children . Now - do not get me wrong , the hotel room itself is AMAZING . Very updated , modernized , beds SUPER comfortable (although one of my blanket covers had a broken zipper , exposing the actual blanket insert). Very nice bathroom/shower. I did specify in my reservation that my room would have 2 adults and 2 kids , but was only provided 2 towels and 2 water bottles for the stay. When i asked for more , the staff were hesitant to provide and made it seem like I was overusing supplies . Not to mention, the mobile app that is utilized to “manage my stay” including ordering more supplies like towels , did not function for me. For a person that is probably here for an overnight stay on business or something , I’m sure the place would be great. For me on a family vacation with kids …. Just not the vibe/service I was expecting , and, if I knew in advance about all the additional fees that would’ve been tagged to me , to enjoy what I perceived as simple amenities for a high class hotel like this , I would’ve not booked to begin with.

This hotel was not a bad place to stay, but there were some issues. The room was a standard hotel room that you would find in a Marriott. The bathroom was small with chipped tile in the tub and peeling paint. There were only two drawers for clothing, so one of us had to pile clothes on the desk and chair. I paid extra to have a room facing the "lake." The lake was a murky brown retention pond with a non-working fountain surrounded by office buildings. Despite those characteristics, I guess it was better than facing the parking lot. The higher floor was nice to overlook the buildings and fireworks in the distance on July 4th.

The staff is helpful and courteous, but at this time housekeeping comes only every fourth night of your stay.

There is a restaurant and big bar on the bottom floor and a nice patio overlooking the lake.

The population in and around the hotel is diverse, and if you have a family and want to use the pool, you may want to reconsider staying here. There were people at the pool participating in lewd acts and wearing extremely skimpy bathing suits in the presence of 12 year old boys staying at the hotel for a baseball tournament. It was not the appropriate place for the types of behaviors being displayed. Also, most of the time when I would walk through the parking lot, I would smell marijuana-even at 5:45am.

The walls are paper thin. The first night I had a neighbor with the TV on extremely loud. Even after he left and another couple moved in, I could hear their conversations through the wall. You cannot hear noise from outside the hotel though.

At this time, the gym and club level services are closed.

It is not a walkable location, but there are many restaurants, stores and grocery stores a short drive away. The hotel is directly off the highway.

I’m not sure why this hotel is considered a luxury hotel. It is more on the lines of a Hampton Inn or Courtyard when it comes to the actual quality of the rooms. There is nothing fancy, upscale or unusually nice about the room we stayed in. 10th floor room 1003. It had a moldy, old smell when we first entered the room. The bathroom is as small as a closet and you cannot close the door without hitting yourself in the head. Yes, it’s that small. The sink faucet leaked out onto the counter, the shower wand also was leaking so we could not use that. The dressing mirror has a weird shelf cutting into half of your view in the mirror which made no sense whatsoever. We followed the suggestions here to request lake view which we got, but know that the “lake” is more like a low -lying mud pond and really was not worth looking at. The hotel lobby is nice, although the 2 nights we were there it was super busy and loud with tons of guests hanging out down there, eating and basically using the space as a party unit. Not welcoming or cool to have to wade through tons of drunk folks just to get to the elevators. Parking is $14 per night and is not close. Also parking spaces are very tiny, so we found it better to park away from other cars so as not to risk getting our car damaged by neighboring cars. The bed mattress was hard and uncomfortable. There was dust on the coffee maker and the facial tissue holder so I could tell the room had not been cleaned recently to tidy up since the last guests. Overall, we have stayed in much nice accommodations at 3 star properties like Cambria, Hampton Inn and even Courtyard by Marriott. But if you just want a basic, small, room with few upgrades in the Perimeter area, then this is the place for you. But for the cost, just don’t.

I’ve stayed at a few different Westin locations and have never seen one this run down. When I arrived they couldn’t locate my reservation and had to wait nearly an hour for the room. The manager did however accommodate me with free parking and a lake view room. So for that I was extremely thankful and showed great customer service.

Appearance wise, on the outside and lobby you would assume this is an really nice and modernized hotel but once you get to the rooms it’s the complete opposite. The hallways are dimly lit with dark grey dirty carpet, room doors are old and poorly painted with scratches, ceiling leaks, old out dated eaten up furniture and decor. The pool was dirty and has rust spots all over it. That turned me off so I didn’t bother getting in. I selected this hotel thinking “hey, can’t go wrong with a Westin” their locations are usually pretty much upscale and classy. Totally wrong, this location would put you in mind of a Ramada or Holiday Inn. They have invested more money into the entry appearance versus the actual rooms and comfort of their guests. It’s certainly not up to my standards for a hotel. Definitely would NOT stay here again!

Normally my fiance and I would take a quick getaway trip to Georgia every year to escape the Holiday madness. We always stayed at The Westin Perimeter area due to the shops, malls and local eateries. This particular trip wasn't a "not so relaxing" trip due to what we had encountered on our stay. We had a reservation for 3 nights that was booked through a third party online booking company.Upon checking in there was a gentleman associate who worked at the front desk who seemed very rushed and was not friendly upon checking in guest. Upon our previous stays, the front desk associates would always ask if we needed help with anything. This particular associate gave my room keys and didn't say anything.I returned back to my car to go and park inside of the parking deck in which we had discovered that your room keys have to properly work in order to have access to the parking deck. Well in this case the room keys didn't work and the bellman explained that we would have to go back inside at the Front Desk to actually get room keys that work in which it sucked because there were a group of people waiting to check in. I had my fiance unload the car while I stood in line. Finally, we were able to get inside of the parking deck. The room we had requested was on one of the top floors. The room was nice and had several amenities the only problem was the next morning the bathroom water was "BROWN"😮.I called down stairs and the brilliant gentleman that had checked us in the day before had answered the phone.( I could tell by the accent). He had instructed us to run the water for 15 minutes and that it should go away. Well we ran the water for 20 minutes and it was still"BROWN". My fiance called back down and refused to keep playing these games after the amount of money we spent for a 3 night stay. We were then moved to a room that was on a lower floor overlooking nasty brown pond water in which we were told that we would be switched to a room with a beautiful view. I was very upset and wanted to check out but my fiance insisted that we make the best of it and try and have a great time. But you can best believe we will be looking into other surrounding hotels on our next getaway!!!

Not a luxury hotel and don’t care if you’re an Elite member - terrible experience

It didn’t start when I was allocated a handicapped room and they changed it to another but didn’t upgrade me even though I booked months ago and am an Ambassador Elite. It seems to matter not a jot.

The hotel and room is basically falling to pieces, very run down, needs to be completely refurbished, nothing works.

The Club Lounge was closed “because of the pandemic” even though that made no sense given no one was taking any other precautions about covid, no one had masks on and there was no social distancing going on which I agree you don’t need but then why was the lounge closed?

When this happens the hotel is supposed to compensate you.

So I asked reception what are you doing to replace the club lounge’s free flow drinks and food and cocktails and evening canapes and free breakfast that I'm supposed to get as an Ambassador Elite member?

She said nothing. She said I could use the restaurant but I would have to buy my drinks and only later did I realise that it’s not open from 10am to 5pm! So how to do this?

A joke.

I said where can I work if the lounge is closed?

She said “your room”. I said what again, giving her another chance to catch on, what about the free flow drinks and Club lounge benefits? She said I could work in the reception area but there were no drinks or food.

Not only is the restaurant closed during the day but there is no room service!

So basically no food and drinks for the day!

Uber Eats must be doing roaring trade here.

Bizarre way to lose money.

The breakfast was horrible anyway. Very one dimensional and if you don’t like bacon and scrambled eggs you have no choice but toast.

In the room itself it was a joke.

The shower doesn’t work unless you know the secret code to twiddling the buttons, I kid you not it took me 15 minutes to figure it out! It’s not just push and it works oh no.

The safe also is so temperamental that I stopped using it.

There’s no kettle to make tea, when I rang to complain I was told to use the coffee machine!

The fridge is empty! So no mini bar, no drinks, no food, they really don’t want you to eat or drink in this hotel.

The walls are also paper thin, I could hear everything that the person in the next room said!

There was also no glass and no cups, just Starbucks paper cups!

The decor and rooms are all very old and crumbling.

The only thing that worked was the gym which I could use 24/7, that’s it. That’s the only thing that they got right.

This is supposed to be a luxury hotel, who says? Marriott Bonvoy says! But it’s as far away from luxury as you can possibly get and the customer service is appalling, they just don’t care.

And I’m an Ambassador Elite, imagine what they do to everyone else if this is how they treat their supposedly top tier loyalty members.

Not a luxury hotel in any shape or form. Appalling.

Just terrible. Stay away.

We stayed at the Westin Atlanta Perimeter North last week and we had a great time.

What stands out the most is the exceptional customer service of everyone there. From the moment we pulled up, the valet attendants were extremely professional and courteous. (To a person, they spoke EVERY time we left and returned!!)

At check in, I had a wonderful conversation with Victoria. She is pleasant and kind and helpful – and none of it felt forced or insincere. It is obvious she enjoys working there, and she has a sweet spirit.

When my husband and I had to go to the front desk about a small issue – nothing in the room but something on our floor – I was going to wait to speak with Victoria because she’d been so kind at check in. But, Nikki was available first. I began apologizing for the incident, and immediately – she stopped me! She apologized for the inconvenience and worked to move us to a different floor. She was congenial and professional but she seemed genuinely concerned about making sure we were comfortable.

The hotel was busy and there were several large groups staying the same weekend, to include a family reunion with people from all over the country. Every time we passed the front desk, the associates there were engaged in pleasant conversations while assisting their guests. They were smiling and laughing, and it set the tone for a pleasant environment throughout the hotel.

We had breakfast in the hotel dining area, Savor Bar and Kitchen. Although it was a buffet, we had excellent service from Verdi (?) both days. She made sure our coffee was refilled and she checked on us without being overbearing. Once again, the attention felt authentic.  The food was fantastic – I was not expecting it to be good, let alone great!! And the area stayed clean. I didn’t get the name of the gentleman over the food area but he was consistent in his cleaning and checking the food to make sure the containers were replaced and the serving utensils were clean and placed correctly.

It’s been a while since I’ve experienced this level of customer service in a hotel in the States. It’s truly on par with what one would expect at a resort!

To top off the stay, we had checked out and left the hotel – which by the way is in a perfect location, convenient to mall but not on a main thoroughfare – when I received an email from Dedo Dixon, Director of Operations, wanting to make my stay was to my satisfaction. The email was a very nice touch and it was just one more reason I recommend this hotel.

They have both valet and self-park options. I used the self-park that I believe was bout $12 daily (unlimited in/out) and then valet would have been about $17 daily. I suggest you call the hotel to be certain and get any updates.

I stayed 2 nights and they held 500.00.. i felt that was extreme and spoke with them. I am a life time member with Marriott and have never seen charges held like this. They assured me it would be returned within 5 days counting the weekend and it was. The staff was great as well as the location. Great exercisec club next door and courtesy hotel van service to redtaurants and mall. Enjoy!
