Hiding behind the famed Sea Island name, this former office suite complex converted to a hotel is roughly equivalent to a chain motel one might find at any expressway exit. We were in town for one day on business. It was my wife's birthday--I told her to reserve a hotel of her choice. For slightly less than $400/night, we got a decent room, but little else. Located far from the amenities that make St. Simons/Sea Island a worthwhile visit, I'm at a loss to say almost anything positive about the place--though the desk clerk (Anne) was quite polite. There was no luggage assistance--I was told the most convenient way to our room was to park our car a fifty yards away and enter the hotel through a fire exit, and climb two-and-a-half flights of stairs. The small bar with a very limited selection of liquors was filled with a rowdy wedding party, with the experience not improved by watery drinks. The "breakfast" (included) was rudimentary. I ordered a sausage/egg/cheese bagel only to discover it was prepackaged and frozen. After a few minutes in the microwave it was served to me still cold on the inside. I asked for water and orange juice and was handed an 8 oz. plastic bottle of water and a similar bottle of orange juice--no glasses, just swig from the bottle as you eat. The utensils, by the way, were plastic. I could go on and on, but perhaps you get picture. For this hotel's pretense and price, guests deserve better. New management, perhaps? Oh, and even though the name implies a connection with Sea Island and the Cloister, that's not included in the standard price.

Thank you for being our guest at The Inn. You are correct that, as a select service hotel, The Inn does not offer valet parking, room service, restaurant dining, and bell service. The Inn does offer a number of amenities, including an onsite pool, bar, TopGolf Swing Suite, and laundry. The breakfast you experienced was limited, due to pandemic-related guidelines, which call for the type of utensils, pre-packaged food and drink that you mention. This September, guests at The Inn will again be offered the ability to purchase access to most Sea Island amenities and we will hopefully be able to return to our pre-COVID breakfast experience. So, while I am sorry to see that you were not pleased with your first stay at The Inn, we do hope you’ll consider a return visit, on business again or for pleasure. Sea Island does offer other lodging options, The Cloister and The Lodge, which do include the full-service amenities you mentioned. Thank you for taking the time to share your comments.

Hotel's Favorite
Easy to find but hard to leave, Wonderful property with first class staff and accommodations. World class golf and spa. Great local restaurants (very casual) and eclectic boutiques. Nothing crowded--no lines. Huge live Oak Trees and tons of Spanish moss everywhere you look.

Don't bother staying at the Inn at Sea Island, they don't give you access to Sea Island so you are paying a lot for basically a road side motel with no amenities. No restuarant, small pool and a terrible continental breakfast. No beach access, nothing. Would only make sense if you could use hotel.

I am sorry to see that you did not enjoy your recent stay with us. You are correct that, in order to observe social distancing guidelines and help ensure the safety of our guests and team members, we are only allowing Inn guests to purchase Sea Island Golf Access at this time. After September 6, the Resort Access rate will be reinstated, which will allow guests to purchase a day-pass to enjoy most of the Sea Island amenities (including restaurants, spa and activities). In the meantime you are invited to enjoy beverages and bar bites at the on-site bar and to take advantage of the TopGolf Swing Suite at The Inn. Additionally, several popular restaurants are just a short walk away from The Inn. We hope you’ll consider a return visit when the effects of the pandemic are but a memory. Thank you for taking the time to post your comments.

We were pleased with our stay at the Inn. It was an excellent value. The room was very spacious with comfortable seating and the bathroom had a nice walk in shower which I prefer. I look forward to returning. The staff were all pleasant. As with most hotels at this time some services are still limited but staff are eager and willing to make your stay comfortable and pleasant.

How nice to see such great comments about your recent stay as a guest at The Inn, despite concessions we needed to make to observe social distancing and help ensure the health and safety of guests and team members. Thank you for recognizing those. We are of course happy to know you plan to return and look forward to welcoming you back.

Unsatisfactory experience this trip. Couldn't access any of the amenities at the Lodge or Cloister other than golf. Bathroom was small and outdated. There was limited room cleanup supposedly because of covid. Not sure I'll go again.

Thank you for being our guest at The Inn. You are correct that while you were with us in May, in order to comply with pandemic guidelines for social distancing, we were not able to provide access to Sea Island activities aside from golf. We also temporarily revised our housekeeping service, which has now been fully restored. I do hope you will come see us again, when those situations are only memories and you’re able to enjoy Sea Island’s many offerings. I appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts.
