The Claremont is one of those places in a small town that has engendered admiration, jealousy, legend and stability. The owners lovingly care for the home and made Pook and me feel right at home. The rooms are spacious and furnished with period antiques. This historic home is a beautiful example of Victorian gothic architecture- the burgled walnut casements, doors... More

This is a great little bed and breakfast Tucked away in Rome, Georgia. The innkeeper is amazingly helpful, cordial, and the breakfast is absolutely incredible. We stayed for a few days and it was a new breakfast every day – – scrambled eggs and bacon, stuffed French toast, fresh fruit, and delicious coffee. The breakfast alone was work the stay,... More

It just "felt right" to stay at The Claremont House on Thanksgiving night. We were visiting our daughter's family, but there was "no room for us in THEIR inn," so we made reservations at Claremont. What a beautiful property! Our room was on the top floor. Big, canopied, king-size bed with lots of floor space. Such high ceilings and crown... More

We had the choice of several really large and well-appointed guest rooms inside the huge main house or the detached cottage and opted for the increased privacy of the cottage. One large bedroom downstairs with a comfy king sized bed, a small functional kitchen, and a living room (as well as a large bathroom) took up the first floor. On... More

While this establishment looks great on its website, in reality it is falling apart, full of mold, dirty and served horrible breakfasts. Cobwebs and filthy furniture prevented us from using either of the outdoor areas. The breakfast was an unidentifiable solid blob of overlooked egg with white toast. Coffee and bacon were good. Paint, inside and out, is peeling. The... More

Absolutely loved this place. It looks like something from the colonial era, the decor is amazing with loads of old features and a massive comfy king size bed. Breakfast was delicious and the owners were really nice. It's about a mile walk from the main restaurant/bar area which took about 30 minutes.

When it comes to experiencing history up close and personal, there are not many things that can match a stay in a home preserved for that very reason. My wife and i enjoyed a pleasant and truly magical experience at the Claremont House in Rome, GA. From start to finish we were engulfed in a truly nostalgic, imagination run free,... More

I chose this type of lodging for the experience of staying in a 130 year old 8,000 sq ft mansion. The architectural features are exquisite and the wood floor is original. Its also full of lovely antique furniture and glassware which I really appreciate. The owners have thoughtfully placed informative placards throughout the house. Its a very enjoyable place to... This house is gorgeous and full of history. The owners were very friendly and hospitable. Our room was very cozy, with high ceilings and beautiful word work. The bathroom had a claw foot tub that was perfect for taking a hot bath after a long day of traveling. Breakfast the next morning was very yummy - pancakes, fruit and bacon... More

This is a beautiful old Victorian house, perched up a steep driveway above a main thoroughfare in Rome, Ga. My room had an elegant four-poster bed that was not only architecturally pleasing but very comfortable with super soft sheets. However, I have nits. My room was quite chilly/cold, with no heat on a 45 degree night and a comforter that... More
