This review is being written more in sorrow than anger. We have been going to Le Portetta with another couple for a week's skiing in March for a number of years. The ambience and location at the foot of the slopes in Courchevel 1650 are excellent, and the french restaurant very good- very important when you are on half board. Bedrooms...

We booked this as a ski trip during Christmas period and I fell in love with this place! Right on the ski slopes, you can ski in and out, they have a lovely terrace right outside in front on the slopes, it was fantastic. The restaurant served great food, and the service was impecable! I was trying to book this...

Lovely hotel, as per our stay the year before, very nice friendly staff, who can not do enough for you. Rooms are kept very clean and are to a high standard. Unfortunately the restaurant let this hotel down this year, the food was not to the same standard as the year before, nor the choices of food. The service in...

The Portetta has taken a new direction which some will like but I'm not one of them. What was undoubtedly one of the best ski hotels in the Alps now seems to have become Britain on the snow. The French restaurant which offered fantastic service and food has been replaced with a new menu and serving staff typical both typical...

A great, small, cute hotel right on the ski slope - what more could you ask for? The staff were wonderful and attentive. The hotel was comfy and warm. The food delicious and plenty of it. Our rooms had tiny bathrooms, that didn't feel very 'luxury'. That would be my only criticism.

What a great hotel but really spoils by the terrible and hugely expensive ski shop downstairs. Under no circumstances should you hire any gear from them. THEY ARE CALLED GILBERT SPORTS They will charge more than double than they do on line. When challenged their response is "If the price is not alright for you you can rent in a...

Great location at bottom of 1650 slopes. Recently refurbished with impressive and very comfortable decor. Staff are very, very pleasant and helpful. Rooms and en suites excellent. Apart from the kitchen/ food experience (and ski shop experience) everything else was of the highest quality. I had to chase up my breakfast every day for the first 4 days because the...

This was our first stay at this hotel. The hotel is in a fantastic location right at the bottom of the nursery slopes in Courchevel 1650. All of the staff went to great efforts to make our stay exceptional. The Fire and Ice bar is a great place to relax in the sun after a day on the slopes. The...
