Normally when I we visit our daughter in Moultrie we stay at Holiday Inn. We decided to stay at Barber Tucker House. We had to leave early Saturday morning so missed breakfast . Our wonderful host provided a great breakfast for our daughter and her family as well as my wife and I. The house is very nicely decorated with beautiful furnishings. Our room was everything we expected from such a nice place. Melanie was very kind, gracious and the most excellent host. I highly recommend a stay, True a charming abode warmed by great southern hospitality that accommodate our needs.
What a wonderful stay in a beautiful room with a delicious breakfast! Melanie was the perfect southern belle hostess! We had a good dinner in a small Moultrie restaurant which Melanie recommended. Coffee available by our room when we requested it. Why stay at a highway chain when you can experience the best of Georgia!! Worth the extra few miles to be treated like VIPs!!
My husband and I had a most wonderful stay with Michael and Melanie at this beautiful gem. The rooms are beautifully decorated with every attention to detail. We had breakfast two mornings and both were some of the most delicious we have ever had. If you ever need a special event in the Moultrie area the Barber-Tucker house is the place to have it hands down! Melanie is an expert when it comes to event planning and the property is perfect for any small or large from weddings to showers. We have stayed in numerous bed and breakfasts and being made to feel like family is one gesture that we sincerely appreciate. Melanie and Michael did just that!
We were so happy to find this wonderful B&B, in a beautiful historic mansion in the quaint south Georgia town of Moultrie. The host was so gracious, and she made the most delicious breakfast we have ever had at a B&B. She had special touches throughout the home, and it was so clean and the bed was so comfortable!
We rented the entire place for almost a week for a large gathering of family at Thanksgiving. For that purpose, it turned out quite well. So, I am not knocking the property. During the stay we cooked for ourselves and did the clean-up, leaving the place looking just as good or better than it looked when we checked in. I felt so exuberant about the experience and how well it had gone that I left a generous tip on the counter. However, when my credit card was run, the charge was over twice what we were quoted. My wife and I were floored as we were both present during the discussions regarding cost (the website contains no information about pricing). I had scribbled some pricing notes on a piece of paper and, unfortunately, it subsequently was misplaced or trashed. My bad because they already had my credit card number and it came down to their word against ours. Very unfortunate this happened because it left a bad taste in our mouths and sullied what otherwise would have been a great gathering. Please note that I am not complaining about the facility and I am not really complaining about the actual cost, but had we known what the ultimate price would be and had we known a seemingly random price would be charged, we would have considered other options.…
Southern elegance, pampering, FANTASTIC breakfast, incredible accommodating innkeeper in Tammy, what more can I say. This is an experience not to be believed. Perfect for a good wine whilst in the sitting room or porch on a nice evening. Tammy actually was waiting for us when we arrived.
My son got married in September 2014 in Moultrie, GA, and our family both stayed in the Barber Tucker Inn and celebrated the rehearsal dinner and bridal breakfast there. Fran was the most gracious, most attentive hostess we have ever met. Every detail of our stay was picture perfect. My extended family is from the Northeast and is very particular about accommodations and service. To be able to host the rehearsal dinner in this beautiful venue and sit late into the night talking and laughing on the front porch was a memory I will always treasure. One of my younger sisters remarked afterwards that we had "set the highest standard" for gracious entertainment of out of town guests at a wedding. If you want to experience the finest of Southern hospitality in a beautiful and memorable setting, I offer my highest recommendation for the Barber Tucker Inn and Miss Fran. - Rosie…
I was traveling with a group and we rented 6 of the rooms from Fran for 5 nights. The rooms were very comfortable and the breakfasts were amazing. Fran is a great hostess and an excellent cook. She and Tammy made sure that we had everything we needed there. She didn't even blink when we asked if we could have our breakfasts at 6:15 every morning--she just said "Of course" with a big smile! Her hospitality is the best!
I reserved a room at the Barbara Tucker Bed and Breakfast in Moultrie, GA for the Sunbelt Ag Expo a year in advance. Almost a month before the event, I discovered that Ms. Fran had lost my reservation and denied ever making a reservation for my party. There are no other rooms available in Moultrie, GA during this event. I am dismayed with the quality of customer service offered by this establishment.
Moultrie is a charming Southern town. One of the most beautiful homes in town is the Barber-Tucker House. The home is close enough to walk to the town square and the nicer restaurants there. The B&B’s rooms are very nicely decorated and outfitted and all the public rooms are charming. Breakfast was a delicious, large cooked meal of a banana/granola parfait, eggs, French toast, sausage and more. Behind the house is a small pool for cooling off on the hotter summer days. There is a small sitting porch on the second level and a large wrap-around porch on the main level, both great places to sit with a happy-hour cocktail in the evening or with a cup of coffee in the morning. I look forward to returning.
