Detailed Reviews
Note: I stayed over the New Year holiday so I was aware and was told ahead of time there would be no staff on-site on January 1st.
I stayed in the Savannah room which was beautiful inside! The welcome cart even included a bottle of wine in addition to a few treats. While I did notice some trash under the bed which fetching a fallen phone charger, the room and bathroom were otherwise very clean. I thought the second floor decor was charming and especially loved the historic photo of the house in the dining room on the main floor. The internet was speedy and the claw foot tub was divine!
The odd thing about this BnB is the main floor (at least when I stayed) was very empty aside from some small tables and a good many stacked up chairs on one side of the room, likely from a wedding or event. There were other rooms on the main floor that were more inviting like the dining room and front sitting room but the large empty event space felt odd.
Overall, it felt more like an event space that a cozy BnB. That said, I’m sure it’s gorgeous when used for weddings!

The Stanley House Inn is a charming Southern B&B in the heart of the Marietta Square. The rooms are comfortable with modern conveniences like king size beds, fine linens, ample connectivity yet have the beautiful antique furnishings and feeling you desire in a B&B. There are plenty of rooms such as the parlor, back porch and the expanse of the lovely wrap around front porch to enjoy. May in the kitchen provides a lovely freshly made breakfast each morning that is delicious and having conversation with her is delightful.

I stayed here for one night while in transit, picked the place mostly at random as it was a convenient drive from the airport. I was pleasantly surprised to find The Stanley House a little oasis of comfort and luxury. Self check-in was fast and uncomplicated, the hot breakfast was delicious and the room offered me great sleep.
I stayed in the Alpharetta room and while there was a notice of it being noisy due to the nearby train tracks, this wasn't something that bothered me at all. Parking was also very conveniently located and free. I would love to stay here again in the future.

I wanted to like the Stanley House, but it just didn't meet expectations. We're vegan and were charged the same for breakfast even though we did not have a "full" breakfast like other guests. I even inquired prior to our stay about skipping breakfast entirely for a reduced rate and was told that wasn't an option. If that's the case, the staff needs to become familiar with vegan cooking. The Westminster room has a private courtyard, which is wonderful. We were traveling with our dog. and the courtyard was so great to have for her to go out. The room itself could be great, but it's very worn and is not as nice as the pictures. It needs more area rugs, and a door mat when you step in. It was very obvious the room hasn't had a deep clean in a really long time. There's dust on surfaces and the bathroom definitely needs a super deep clean. The glass shower door was off the track and the track piece was just sitting loose on the ledge. I hope the owners will focus on updating rooms and then maintaining them, as the Westminster room could be wonderful if it was cleaned between guests. The breakfast issue also needs to be addressed so that all guests are treated equally. I did not see the rest of the inn to know what the experience is like for everyone else. The location is great, but would not be a quiet spot if that's what you're expecting. You can hear trains (did not bother us one bit!) and commuter traffic on the one way streets. But, so much is walkable, so don't let that discourage you. Just don't expect perfection.

Hey Lauren, thank you for staying with us at the Stanley House! To address your concerns,1. Yes you are correct, we don't offer a special rate for people who opt out of breakfast as we don't "charge" for breakfast. It's included with your stay. Some people partake and others do not. Just like we include wine and snacks in your room. If you didn't eat or drink them, it doesn't effect your room rate either way. However, after you reached out ahead of your stay, I specifically had my staff pick up options for you. On Sunday morning we served you plant based meat options with toast and a lovely coconut yogurt blueberry parfait. You liked the parfait so much Lynn made you an extra one to put in your mini fridge in the room. On Monday morning I had them instructed to make my world class avocado toast recipe for you but you were not at breakfast that day. 2. We strive to have extremely high standards for cleanliness. and I'm suprised to hear you say that your room wasn't up to standards. You stayed with us for a couple of days and no one on my staff was notified that you thought your room wasn't anything but exceptional. If a guest ever has an issue we rectify it as soon as we possibly can. 3. In regards to "worn" I'm not sure what that means? The Westminster was redone a few months ago so everything in that room is almost brand new. Also we only have one rug in the Westminster because it is our Dog room and it is a washable rug. If we had alot of rugs, dogs would pee on it and then it would either make the room smell or we'd have to continually replace them. I hope this eases your mind on some of the feedback you gave. Please let me know if I can do anything for you in the future. Meg

The building was exactly what we were looking for in terms of being a historic feel with antique furnishings. The staff was very helpful and accommodating and I have no complaints about them . I will say we stayed over a holiday weekend so we were aware that staff would not be in house one of the days we were there , and we were made aware of that ahead of time , which we appreciated . I will say the hot breakfast we got was somewhat disappointing in what we would normally expect at a bed and breakfast at this price point . They did accommodate the vegetarian in our party with veggie sausage , but the rest of the breakfast was pretty lack luster and unfortunately kind of cold. It sort of felt like something we could have made ourselves at home. We love b&bs and I would say the breakfast is just not up to par with other places we have been . Other than that our stay was nice I just wish breakfast could be taken up a notch .

This place seems to be bed only. I stayed here recently and had some business scheduled before breakfast was served, which starts quite late (8:30 on weekdays). On the one day when my business was scheduled later, I showed up at 8:30, and there was still no breakfast.
I stayed in a room that had a magnificent bathtub in the middle of the room. After a long day of work, I decided to use it. The plug for the bath was too small for the hole, so all the water went down the drain and quickly. The TV did not work (it went on, but you needed to sign into your own accounts for all the apps, and the free TV app would not load at all).
The door to the toilet and shower room was just a slatted door you could see through, hear everything through, and did not close properly. Luckily I was on my own for this trip, but this did not scream romantic in the slightest bit. Also shower curtain was too short and there was water all over the floor. The bed was positioned right under a vent and there was no way to control the temperature in the room so I had cold air blasting on my face the whole night.
Nobody came to make up my room at all during my three-day stay. We had a discounted rate for our business meeting, but I could not see paying full-price for this service.

Hi Paul! This review is very concerning to me. You were part of a big group that stayed with us for several days. Breakfast was served at 8:30am every day, other members of your party were there so I am not sure why you said breakfast wasn't ready? Everything in your room could have been addressed, I wish you had just let us know. You stayed in the Buckhead room which is one of our most popular rooms! The tub drain works perfectly fine, it just a push drain. The thermostat for your room is right outside your door, we could have showed you that if you needed to adjust the temperature. The TV is a smart tv so sometimes we have to show people how to find the channels, but it does work. We leave it on for check ins so we know it works when people arrive. The door to the shower and toilet is an antique frosted glass door but it works perfectly fine I am not sure what issue you had with it. We also reach out to all the guests when you check in and ask that you please reach out to us if you need anything or have any questions! We are always here to help and we work hard to make sure our guests love their time with us!

I stayed in the Marietta room for the weekend of my wedding. The staff was very kind and helpful, the breakfast was really good, and you have everything that you could need available to you in the room. The inn itself is beautiful, you can tell it's an older structure but that is definitely part of the charm. It's also just a few blocks away from Marietta Square, so you can walk to a ton of restaurants, bars, and stores.

We stayed in the Westminster Suite on the basement level - we were coming in from out of town to go to a midnight movie at the Strand (Rocky Horror) and wanted to stay somewhere that we could walk easily to the Square and back. The room was lovely and very convenient - we let ourselves in around 7:00 and changed and headed to eat dinner and wait for the movie. The courtyard was great (even though we didn't have our dog with us this trip). Comfortable bed, and we sleep with a box fan, so the train wasn't noticed at all. We had to head home early, so we didn't stay for breakfast, but we plan to next time!

The Stanley House will always be a special place for my husband and I! We got married here and rented all the rooms out. Everything was fabulous from check in to check out! All the rooms are gorgeous, clean, and well stocked with everything you may need. The breakfast was delicious and the staff was very friendly. It was super special that there was a dog friendly room so our fur baby could join us. Highly recommend if you are looking for somewhere to stay in the area. We will be back for sure :)

Issues for consideration: update the laminated instructions for air, heat and tv. The air conditioner also provides heat but needs to be checked for loud noise coming on every hour or so when the heat comes on. Also the air conditioner vent across from the toilet needs to be completely covered as there is no way to prevent the cold air blowing right at you even though the vent is closed. Lastly, the portable ice maker needs checking as it produces another loud noise when it makes ice during the night. Still, overall I enjoyed the short stay and will stay again if I need a night in Marietta.

Hey there! Yes we are friendly to everyone!
Yes we can!. Please let us know prior to check in. Thanks
While we do have a handicap ramp to enter the Inn, the bed and breakfast guest rooms are all upstairs. The Inn was built as a residence in 1895 so there is no elevator. As an alternative, we do offer ground floor apartments, available with a 4-night minimum. We are sorry for your inconvenience!
