I had called to see if we could have a early check in. It was the day after Labor Day so we could not. We barley got checked in at 4. We booked a premium ocean view room. The room I saw on line was very nice. That’s not what we got. Instead we got a dark room with no view but landscape. Garbage was outside of deck. No ice bucket they were out. Instead we were offered a garbage can with a liner in it. Next day we asked for a different room the did upgrade us to a suite which was nice and had a ocean view. Bath tub had rust on bottom and they didn’t have enough towels ect. The pool didn’t look clean someone said it’s the water they use that’s not filtered. It just didn’t look good and there were no pool towels. We were told there was 120 rooms with 5 house keepers. The grounds are beautiful. The Hotel itself needs work. We will go back to Jekyll Island. But we will stay at a different Hotel. It was very disappointing to say the least.

AMAZING STAY! My husband and I and our 90-year-old mom were so fortunate to enjoy an extended stay at this amazing resort, and we were so well cared for by the entire staff. We honestly felt like it was our home, and they were our family. We really would not want to stay anywhere else on the island other than the Holiday Inn Resort. Everything about it was perfect. If I could give it more than 5 stars, I would! It was also a priceless gift for our 90-year-old mom. After 2 years of being shut-in due to the pandemic, She was very apprehensive about taking the long trip. But 15 minutes after she arrived in her room she reported she had arrived in paradise! She got outside each day and walked along the resort paths, and enjoyed sitting on the Adirondack chairs and watching the people and bikers go by. It was like she was 10 years younger when she left. As for the staff, we can't thank them all enough and let them know that their very hard work makes a big difference in the lives of others! I was in the hotel business for many years, and I understand firsthand that is’ grueling hard work, and sometimes (many times) guests remember to complain, but do not remember to say THANK YOU!!!! So please know that you are indeed very appreciated!!!!!

Can I just say Jonesy was the GREATEST employee I've ever encountered anywhere! He was BEYOND helpful. And so sweet. He went above and beyond to help us with our stay. Made this hotel stay the best experience I've had at any hotel. Jonesy was just a genuine person. He made us feel like family/friends versus just anther guest. Would visit again just to stay at this hotel because of him. 10/10!! The hotel itself was very clean and updated. The view was stunning and the amenities were just as great! Would HIGHLY recommended staying here! Thank you Jonesy for the amazing customer service!!!

This hotel was below average. The beach is OK, not what I expected but OK. Unfortunately, we could not go in the water as it was full of red algae. The toilet ran all night long and kept waking me up. You also have to pay to enter Jekyll Island $8 a day! I was a little surprised by that charge. Coming from Ma where you enter Cape Cod for free! I was dying to swim so went to the pool. You could not even see the bottom of the pool, it was so dirty. There could have been a body in it and no one would have known. The hotel restaurant was so bad. The food was absolutely gross. We ordered calamari which tasted like uncooked rubber bands and a very unedible frozen pizza. The waitress took the calamari off and didn't charge us. The tap water tasted like chemicals. Glad I saw GA coast but most likely won't return here.

We chose this resort because they were dog friendly but my they surpassed all expectations! They treated my pup like family (as they should). Beautiful place with everything you could ask for. Plenty for kids and teens to do as well. I wish I could give 100 stars.

Quite disappointing. Pros: -large beach in front of hotel with outdoor showers to wash off the sand. Beach was very nice. -Pool was fabulous, clean, open long hours, plenty of seating and umbrellas -There is a washer and dryer for guests to utilize which was nice. Cons: clearly not enough staff for the amount of visitors (I consider this poor management, not the staff’s fault). Room cleanliness was 2/5 on arrival. We asked for a room refresh 3 times and was not completed (we spent 7 days 6 nights there). We had to go to front desk to get more towels. -no kids activity club; this was a major reason I chose this hotel and particularly why I paid the higher weekend prices to span a weekend as I thought my son would enjoy this. Apparently it no longer exists since new ownership recently took over. -advertise complimentary coffee at the coffee bar but it was not free. -the pool bar randomly closed at 5pm instead of 9pm one night without any notice. -pool towels were available 1 day out of 7, we had to go to front desk and get them (we were at pool for hours per day) -the beach house is the restaurant next door at which kids eat free. It was not worth the price paid for adult meals. For breakfast there was only a Buffett option for adults-Most free breakfasts at hotels are better than this. In summary, I was extremely disappointed in the cleanliness, service and amenities available here. Particularly for the very high, busy season prices. I’ve stayed in numerous holiday inn’s previously and this did not meet the standards I’ve experienced in others.

Room Tip: Would recommend a different hotel. Avoid ‘the beach house’ restaurant. It is not worthwhile.

Beautiful location and great for a family vacation, including pups. We are return guests, however this time the Holiday Inn fell short for us. Perhaps it is we spend more money on a suite to be comfortable and therefore the short comings sting more. Pros: 1. Beautiful expansive grounds and beach (I do not remember the amount of weeds in the grass last time). 2. The property is on the beach with a relaxing setting 3. Love the two story buildings without having to walk through a lobby with kids and dogs 4. Nice quality pillows and the beds are clean Cons: 1. We paid more for a suite (2nd floor) with nice ocean views. For almost $500 a night it should be updated. The floors are not something I would want to walk on without slippers. Dirty carpets and dirty old tile on the floor. Bathroom shower has fresh tiles on the wall, but black marks all around the tub and that dirty old tile on the floor. 2. The sofa has lots of stains on the area one would lean against. Lamps are rusty. Understood its exposed to beach elements, but how expensive could it be to swap out some lamps? 3. We love the kitchenette in the room. Comes with utensils, some pots, toaster, full size fridge, a two burner stove top that sits on top of the fridge as there is hardly any counter space to put it anywhere to cook. There is certainly space in the room to expand that kitchenette a bit to be clean and functional. The silver wear was on an open shelf next to the floor. 4. No USB outlets to charge things 5. Only wall unit A/C- clammy in the room 6. After being up all night with the baby we tried to go to the coffee shop for a cappuccino in the morning. To be open 7-10am. The front desk told they closed already (9:30am). She did not know why. 7. I phoned ahead and had to ask three times for a pack and play to be placed into out room So I think this place could be exceptional for a nice family vacation and getaway. I do not remember the staff being so nonchalant prior times with I don’t care disposition. We are just a bit sad that we upgraded and where underwhelmed by all the short comings paying premium prices. If you just want a low key place to stay on the beach and don’t care about decor or anything else you will have no issue and love it. Would love to see this place get its luster back.

We had a fantastic stay in Jekyll at Holiday Inn Resort. We stopped on a whim and stayed 2 nights. Big shout out to Jonesy for excellent customer service! Very accommodating, helpful, and kind. We would definitely stay here again. So close to the water, easy access to the room, pet friendly, comfortable beds and room, and most of all a beautiful view of the ocean.

Have never stayed here before and wasn’t sure what to expect. Great vacation spot with our grandchildren…right on the beach, the pool, the fire pits, but most of all the staff. Everyone I encountered was so pleasant and helpful. Especially in this day and age of short staffing and bad service. Jonesy at the front desk and Sara and Nate at the pool cabana were so nice and helpful. The coffee service lady whos name I forgot to get. Thank you all for a great vacation!

This was our first trip to Jekyll Island, and our first stay at this place. The property is absolutely huge! They have to have at least 3,000 to 4,000 feet of beachfront property. It's an older property, but it is well maintained and was clean. The pool is huge. There are lots of things to do including a playground for kids, two fire rings that you can sit around before and after dark, concrete bike paths, an adjacent restaurant (Beach House Restaurant and Bar), plenty of Adirondack chairs to sit in and very easy beach access with steps or a ramp option to the beach. The beach sand is similar to Daytona Beach in that it’s hard sand that’s extremely easy to walk on or pull a beach wagon on. The staff was friendly. They allow pets. Pets can go to the beach. There's plenty of free parking. Many really good restaurants are within 3 miles of the place. There's shopping about 1.5 miles away with a unique grocery store. I'd strongly suggest this place for a vacation to Jekyll. We will be going back here in the future. Fantastic place to stay! Very impressive!
