Enjoyed our 2 night stay here!! The Lodge may be older but everything was very satisfactory. Clean room, clean lobby, great breakfast and friendly staff. And we slept well! We would return to this location . We were able to walk to the Anderson Music Hall next door for a concert at Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds!!
If not for the view of the lake the score would be 2. Where to start? Rooms are old and the beds extremely uncomfortable. Bathroom tiles cracked, moldy, and terrible lighting Breakfast terrible, most places offer better quality food. Staff non-existent or disinterested This place could be so much more if someone just updated and implemented a better breakfast and maybe an evening wine/snack time in evening in lounge.
We stayed here before and that is why we chose it again. The view is worth the extra cost for a lake view room. Everyone is friendly and the first floor is especially nice. The breakfast selections leave a lot to be desired. In general the room and bathroom are clean but the bathroom floor could really use some updating. Grout needs cleaning and in some areas replacement where it has broken out. Could also use some caulk in cracks.that don't call for grout.
My wife & I have stayed here numerous times (1 night stays) for several years, when driving up from metro Atlanta for events at the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds. The lodge is an older facility in great condition. The rates are reasonable, and the staff has always been friendly and helpful.
We drove from FL only to find out that they were undergoing construction and reroofing. They did not alert us. Extremely noisy and trashy. The GM lied to us about not knowing in advance when she then admitted they cleared the 3rd foor with no reservations made there. The grounds were unkept and disheveled. The front desk clerk was hostile, yelling, accusatory, demeaning and downright bitchy. Felt like we drove straight into a living nightmare. BEWARE!
This mountain lake view out our balcony was spectacular! Very friendly helpful , accommodating staff. Even got a phone call to let us know our early check in request was ready! Lovey Lodge decor. Nice , clean room, no issues!
Nice location but the property is in need of maintenance. Our balcony had mildew and a piece of old bread laying on the floor. A black widow spider ran us off the balcony early in the evening. Great location and views but desparately needs some attention.
The hotel was easy to find and is very convenient to a restaurant and the Hamilton gardens next door. Make sure to get a room with a view, definitely essential for this hotel. Breakfast was also good. However, this hotel is quite dated and in need of some renovations. Tons of cosmetic issues, carpet stains, yellowing etc. Our patio furniture overlooking the lake and mountain view was the cheapest plastic kind you can get from walmart/dollar general. Also, had several issues with the hotel staff messing up our room key, had to have it reset at least once a day. First night there was also a father/son fishing tournament and the hotel was quite noisy. Overall, pricey for what you get, it's a bare bones no frills lodge, but good location and fantastic view.
My husband and I stayed Labor Day Weekend Sunday-Wednesday. Staff were very nice and helpful. Great view. Enjoyed the stay. Not mentioned (that I could find) on their website is a continental breakfast for all guests. Also, bedroom had a microwave and refrigerator that I wasn't aware of prior to arriving. Building is old you can tell but very clean. Would love to stay again!!!
We stayed 3 nights here as we were visiting wineries in North Georgia. The Lodge is an older Hotel but is very clean and quiet. We had a Lake View room and the view was beautiful. Certainly worth the few extra dollars. Our room was large with a comfortable King bed, a couch and coffee table sitting area. Also a small balcony. We enjoyed our stay.
