Overall, this is a great hotel. It was very clean and the mattress was comfortable. There were a few issues, though. It was confusing finding the hotel parking area and checkin area isn’t clearly marked. It’s hidden within a shopping center within the castle building. Also, there isn’t housekeeping on the weekends. They leave a bag of extra linens and TP outside the door, which is fine, but the trash cans were overflowing by the time we left.
Great hotel within walking distance of most of the shops and eateries. Cute rooms with charm. Has everything I need for a room. A couple things to keep in mind: there is no breakfast with this hotel. However, everything is within walking distance so it is not a big deal for us. The staff is is not at the desk 24 hours. There is no elevator and you will walk up a fairly narrow staircase. Last, even though the website has an online request form for booking, you definitely have to call. Overall, I'm enjoying my stay and would recommend this hotel.
The Castle Inn is the perfect way to enjoy Helen. Not only are you in the center of town and within walking distance of anything you might want to see or do but the Inn itself is part of the experience with it's old world charm and distinctive character. The chain hotels might be newer but they are dull and lifeless with their cookie cutter rooms and repetitive, tasteless decorating.
This place is definitely in need of some updating but we were able to look past that because of the location. It’s right in the middle of everything. Everything you want to see or do in Helen is within a couple minutes walk. Our room was clean when we checked in, just outdated. The hallway outside our room smelled like something was burning but I think that might’ve been the ice machine (maybe). This is a mom and pop place so don’t expect to get somebody on the phone 24 hours a day. They’ll really only answer the phone when they come in from around 11am to 6pm. After that, if you need something, oh well. Either way, you can’t beat the location and I’d love to stay there again.
Wonderful staff, beautiful view, nice rooms, & perfect location. We prefer to stay in room 200. It costs a little more but you get a large furnished living room and a kitchen area that has a full size fridge, stove, coffee pot, dishwasher, & microwave. There is one small bedroom with a door to separate it from the rest of the room. In my opinion the bed could be a little more comfortable but other members of my family say it's great. Along with a nice size couch and two chairs in the living room, there is an area with a small dining table & a sleeper sofa. Great views from the balcony, dining area, & bedroom. There are a few "cosmetic" issues that need attention but nothing that negatively affected the overall comfort of our stay. We also rented room 212 for our son and his wife and it was great too. Just as described on their website. Both rooms are highly recommended and we'll be back next year, if not sooner!…
