Detailed Reviews
This resort is a very nice property to visit. Our room was beautiful with a gas fireplace, sitting area, 2 televisions, king sized bed, balcony with a beautiful view, double sinks, walk in shower and private water closet Because we visited in the "off season" the dining room was closed for dinner. However, the Sky Bar did have nice offerings for the evening meal. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his filet mignon and my special pasta of the day was very tasty. We enjoyed breakfast on the dining room balcony. My husband's omelet was well stuffed and my poached eggs were PERFECT! The gift shop had unique offerings including art from local artists. Every employee welcomed us and treated us as if we were guests in their own home. This was a wonderfully beautiful and quiet respite from the real world.

From the time I checked in and was greeted with a glass of champagne, until I checked out, I had an amazing experience. The chocolates in the room were especially good since I did not visit the local candy store in town (where they came from). The shower area was the best I've ever had anywhere and wish I could duplicate the exact design at my own home! The clerks at the desks were helpful in suggesting rainy day activities, since, unfortunately, it rained the entire time I was there. However, I was content to stay in the room most of the time and enjoy doing nothing but read and watch television. Knowing I could get the same spa services for almost half the price where I live, I did not visit the spa, but would consider if I ever return. Also, there was a nice, short hiking trail on the property. I love this place.

This is a lovely resort hotel. We found the staff to be incredible (Steve in the SkyBar) among others. The room was spotless with two TVs, a fireplace, a refrigerator, an oversized bathroom, and a seating area. We ordered room service for breakfast and it was yummy (biscuit love). The grounds have a pool, a small gym with a steam room, several restaurants, and a bar. One thing to note, while most rooms have a freestanding balcony with a nice view, Rooms 201 and 202 look out onto an HVAC unit covered with privacy fencing with Rooms 203 and 204 also on top of the roof of the smaller building in the photo above. Request the top two floors or a free-standing balcony if possible.

Everything about valhalla was first class. A gated community that offers the security and safety of a nice stay. The hotel is gorgeous and the staff are all super nice and make sure that you are definetly catered to. We stayed in the penthouse suite and WOW, the best view of the mountains in Helen. The rooms are clean and well maintained, the added bonus of adding Lindor chocolate to our freshly made bed everyday was awesome. The food at the restaraunts was, we ate breakfast everyday, and the grilled biscuits, are the best ever. I wish I could remember everyone's name to thank them personally, but I can't and don't want to leave anyone out. We could have spent our whole trip there at the hotel and it would have been perfect. The sky Bar was just a few doors down from our room , so a great place to relax and enjoy the view.. From beginning to end our stay was one of the best. It may seem pricey, but it is worth every penny to stay somewhere that is Adults only, with magnificent views, awesome food , great service in a gated community and a great place to relax. The Golf course was so beautiful too. We will definetly be staying there again in the future. Join Stash reward and earn point towards a free stay in alot of privately owned hotels and resorts. We are well on our way toward that free night!

I decided to book the Comfort & Joy Package for my birthday weekend. The whole experience starting with booking to the spa, the dining, the accommodations through to the check out was absolutely TOP NOTCH! I was treated like royalty by Alex at the front desk as soon as I checked in. The Solasta Spa treatments included (massage & facial) by Cynthia had me so relaxed that it was hard to leave the table! All of the Spa Staff were very professional & accommodating. Those chocolate dipped strawberries were to die for! Lunch in the Caledonia Dining Room was a wonderful treat. The menu had lots of good choices. I would recommend the Chicken Salad Wrap & coleslaw. The attractively decorated room included a panoramic view of the mountains along with a roaring fireplace. Our room was the Penthouse King Suite. Very tasteful & comfortable with a beautiful view on the balcony. We had dinner on the enclosed balcony of The Caledonia Dining Room and were lucky to have Avery as our server. My compliments to the chef also! As an added bonus, Jerry Murdock came over to our table and introduced himself. He and his wife Gayle sure do know what it takes to make you feel welcome and special. Very genuinely nice people who enjoy making you feel special. Breakfast in bed the next day was just the topping on the cake. I would highly recommend this gem in the North Georgia Mountains, you wont regret it!

The resort itself is very nice. The valet, bellstaff, concierge are wonderful. We did not visit the spa, so I cannot speak to the staff in the spa.
The restaurant staff however could use some upgrades. We had 7:30 dinner reservations for 2 on Friday evening. We were one of a total of 3 tables of 2 people in the dining room throughout our dinner experience in what is stated as a fine dining experience.
I ordered the filet mignon, my husband ordered the ribeye steak. The food was fine, though the steaks weren't cooked properly. I am not taking that into account in the review.
I never addressed the poorly cooked steaks with the waiter, William as he never approached our table after delivering our meals for us to mention it. They weren't "horrible" so we went ahead and just ate them.
William has the personality of a wet mop. For a waiter in a fine dine establishment, to have zero conversation or "check back in" with your only table in the restaurant seems a bit lacking. It was disappointing. I certainly didn't look to have deep conversation, but the chance to possibly ask about local attractions, etc. might have been a nice touch.
Saturday evening we visited the Sky Bar in the hotel and were surprised to find we could order from the dinner menu we'd ordered from the night before in the restaurant. I highly recommend this, as it's a much better atmosphere and the staff is much friendlier. I ordered the pasta of the day (which happened to be the same as the day before) and I'd been sorry I hadn't ordered it. It was delicious.
The rooms themselves are comfortable, but nothing very special. Don't expect any streaming services on the tv, the Wi-Fi is good.
Housekeeping is not currently doing daily turn down due to covid as of this review 4/12/21. They are however VERY noisy in the mornings when doing their regular room cleanings slamming adjacent room doors.
The resort is dog friendly.
No kids at the resort under 12, which I appreciated. I don't dislike kids, but I enjoyed relaxing without any :)

We were treated like royalty at this beautiful resort tucked away in Helen’s hills. Our room was spacious and comfortable with every amenity The restaurants on site were well staffed and the food was delicious, with a nice variety for every palate.
I honestly cannot commend this entire staff enough. We hope to return often to this welcome retreat!

Valhalla is a hidden gem just outside of Helen, GA. From the moment we arrived we were treated with exceptional hospitality, including a welcome glass of champagne. The restaurant menu is simple and offers scrumptious, well-prepared dishes. The spa is quant and our services (facial and massages) were top notch. I highly recommend the skin brightening facial…it was wonderful! The sky bar and our bungalow had beautiful views of the Appalachian mountains. If you looking for a place to relax and recharge this place has everything you need.
A special mention of the two, lovely gentlemen who welcomed us at the door every day (they were the sweetest), our waiter at dinner, my esthetician, the spa manager and the delightful owner who came and sat by us pool side to visit and make certain our stay was nothing less than perfect.
We are disappointed we did stay longer for a round of golf and another day by the pool. We’ll be back!!

We spent three nights here for our 30th wedding anniversary, and it was an excellent experience. We stayed in one of the bungalows overlooking the golf course, it was roomy, wine cooler/fright, fireplace, and a beautiful view of the mountains. The food in the restaurant was fantastic, and reasonably priced. Wine selection was very good with a number of wines available by the glass. Matt, Lisa, Jennifer, Vicky, Mike and the rest of the staff treated us like royalty.
We highly recommend Valhalla for special occasions, or for just an annual visit to Helen. You will be glad you stayed.

We choose a deluxe king suite to celebrate our anniversary. For the cost of this room, we had high hopes. Highlights were champagne at check in, anniversary card from the staff, and a very comfortable bed. The room was disappointing with spots on the carpet, multiple ladybugs in the bathroom, a flickering light in the bathroom and furniture that did not represent what we paid for the room. Staff walked in on us without knocking an hour before checkout saying that they thought we checked out already. The view from our balcony was disappointing with construction debris. There were good moments but not enough for a room over $400. Unfortunately, we won’t be returning.

Hello! We did not have a mini fridge in our suite.
No, there was no dress code when we were there, but it is a very nice hotel, so everyone was dressed comfortably, but nice.
Just a few minutes but you have to drive, you can’t walk from Valhalla.
Yes there is.
Not sure what exact amenities you are asking about, but I would call the property and ask them to make sure. With spas and gyms closed, not sure if those specific amenities will be available at this time.
