Quiet get-away in the center of the historic district of Darien. Park your car and chill on front porch swings or stroll across the street for delicious homemade chocolates! All historic points of interest are in walking distance. Do Not miss sunset at Skippers or at one of the fresh seafood restaurants on the riverfront!

We have stayed at Open Gates many times, and while it has been about four years since we were last here, I'm happy to report that it was just as gracious and beautiful as we remembered. Our room was tasteful and charming, and we love being able to walk to dinner and enjoy the downtown area. Zach really went out of his way to accommodate our needs, and the whole experience was so relaxing that we absolutely cannot wait to return! A special place in a special town. :)

Wow!! Zach & Carrie May have created an experience that goes way above and beyond a typical B&B. The home itself is an amazing piece of history, and it's location right on Vernon Square is Hallmark Movie magical. If you get the opportunity, have Zach show you around their special piece of southern Georgia; the cast of characters in this town come straight out of an old Truman Capote novel. I fell in love with this place, and this little town!

We enjoyed our stay at the Open Gates B&B very much. The common areas are beautifully designed, open and inviting. The bedroom, with bathroom, comfortable and elegant. Best of all were Zach and Carrie's hospitality and welcome. The breakfast will remain in our memories, not only because it was very delicious and rich, but also because we sat together with other guests at the big round table, sharing stories and discussing life. What a memory.

The host was kind and breakfast was served with care. Comfortable beds and nice historical home. Although pricey, the atmosphere was peaceful and memorable. Hot and cold beverages was available continually along with fresh cookies every evening.
