Our stay was really excellent. The cabin has everything you need and is very comfortable. Lots to do in the surrounding area - Shopping in Dahlonega Square, Gold mine tours, short trip to Helen, GA and other falls in the area. The Cane Creek Falls are beautiful and sitting in the Adirondack chairs looking at the falls is very relaxing. Spent a lot of time on the screened porch reading and listening to the falls. All in all a very relaxing stay.

We were in Dahlonega for a wedding and we were so glad to have found this beautiful B&B for our stay. Our room was very spacious and cozy and next to the rare book library. When we arrived, we loved the special touches in the room like the cozy robes, wine, cheese and crackers and yummy, homemade chocolate chip cookies. Our room also included a guidebook of local information, mini fridge, Kuerig coffee maker with plenty of pods and wine glasses for the wine. The bathroom was large and had a nice, big jetted tub along with plenty of towels. The bed was very comfortable and the sheets were wonderfully soft. The breakfasts were delicious and we especially loved the waffles, sausage and homemade muffins. It was only ten minutes to downtown Dahlonega and it was a beautiful drive. The host was super nice and helpful and we enjoyed talking to him and the other guests during breakfast. It was so peaceful having coffee on our patio each morning while enjoying the beautiful views. We would love to stay there again.

Our stay was excellent for soooo many reasons!...The lodge is perfectly kept. Clean, organized and extremely friendly. The room feels like home. Every amenity needed. Fridge, Coffee maker, Wine glasses, Ice bucket, extra towels/toilet paper, Direct TV, comfy bed, fireplace, breakfast table, couch and a huge bathroom. Our room had a terrace overlooking the beautiful mountain views and luscious greenery. Watched the sun set and rise. Stars at night. Peaceful. And....I have to say traveling now during this pandemic has had me a bit nervous. Well let me tell you all my worries were settled the minute we arrived. Contactless check in! We were given written instructions and actually saw absolutely nobody! Distance and safety was a priority here. Put me at ease immediately. We felt we had the entire lodge to ourselves. But let me add, we never felt alone. Don was a phone call/text away. Replied immediately every time! Extremely helpful in providing information on what to do in Dahlonega. He arranged us a full day of Hiking with a private tour guide...Sarah who was absolutely amazing, fun and extremely friendly. We also did Kayaking down the river (a must do as well). Breakfast every morning was delivered to our door with a "Good Morning" and a knock at the door to let us know they have left it by our door to bring in. The Chef out did herself every morning! Delicious!!! Freshly baked muffins to country fried breakfast potatoes and egg souffle. Mmmmmm. Miss that alot! We will definitely be back to our friends in Long Mountain Lodge! Thank you Don! :)

Dahlonega is a picturesque, historic small town, with wonderful locals, and with many wineries nearby. We truly love the town, but we enjoy our down time too; and Long Mountain Lodge was the perfect escape into our own rather secluded sanctuary. Having stayed in B&Bs throughout the U. S., Canada, and Europe, we seek out those with great hosts, great food, great location, great sleeping facilities, and attention to the environment. Long Mountain Lodge is top in every category. Once we realized we had Comfy sheets on our bed, we knew they really cared about quality. After staying for four days, as so many others, we felt like part of the family. Breakfasts are superb, delicious and bountiful with the best waffles we've ever had. Since the room had excellent coffee making facilities (with great coffee pods), we loved having our pre-breakfast coffee. The refrigerator was great for snacks and leftovers. How nice it was upon arrival to have wine and snacks waiting to welcome us in that refrigerator! Our private balcony was perfect for wine, snacks, and an evening chorus put on by nature. We'd return in a minute. As a matter of fact, we are going back to Long Mountain Lodge in December to celebrate a birthday, It will be so nice to get back to "our" Whissenhunt Mountain Suite!
