This was our first time visiting this lodge and we will absolutely be back. We stayed for just one night for my birthday, and everything was top-notch, from the accommodations to the hospitatlity to the amazing breakfast! It was definitely nice to have the whole lodge to ourselves as we were the only guests on a Sunday night shortly after re-opening during the pandemic. We stayed in the Winding Stair Gap suite. The room was large and the bathroom was huge, and everything was clean and well-appointed. Since we had the place to ourselves, we enjoyed sitting on the porch upstairs to watch the sunset, but the view from our patio was beautiful as well. We enjoyed the fishing pond which was a short but a bit steep hike below, and my husband took advantage of the fishing poles provided for a few casts before dinner. We didn't interact with any staff the first day since no one was there, but in the morning, Colleen (the owner's daughter) prepared our breakfast and it was served hot and right at our assigned time. She was very kind and took great care of us in the short time we interacted with her, and the breakfast was outstanding. We even bought the owner's cookbook to get the waffle recipe, as my husband declared it the best waffle he'd ever had, and the man has had a lot of waffles. It was special having this beautiful place to ourselves for the night, but we plan to return even if it's at capacity, as there seemed to be plenty of space to get away and have privacy if you wanted. My only improvement suggestions: the TV was pretty bad with poor sound quality, and it did get warm at night even though we adjusted the temperature to 70 (the lowest the owners suggested in the guest book), but everything else was SO great we absolutely plan to return. I loved the extra personal touch amenities, like the welcome cheese platter and wine (which we wolfed down and was great), delicious cookies (another cookbook recipe I'll be using), and a nice birthday note next to a bouquet of fresh flowers from the garden in our room. These people know hospitality and it did not go unnoticed. Highly recommend!!…
Easy self check in with detailed text/emailed instructions sent. Thoughtful attention to details when we arrived, including welcome cookies, snacks, and beverage. Very clean and added sanitizer in public areas. Beautiful grounds. Short trip into Dahlonaga, yet ample amenities there at the lodge to enjoy an escape in the mountains. Comfortable bed. Glasses, silverware, wine opener, dishes, etc. provided in room . Delicious breakfast served on the porch. We had breakfast by ourselves, not sure if that was common or an adaptation for COVID-19 but it was perfect. I've already been asked by family and coworkers for the information so they can check it out in the future.
We stayed in the Winding Stair Gap Suite. The lodge with 6 rooms is amazing...from decor to comfort. Plus you have a wonderful view of the mountains in north Georgia. The gourmet breakfasts each morning were delcious, creative and the pastries were to die for! We'll be back!
Long Mountain Lodge is a wonderful place to stay tucked in the woods a short drive from the town of Dahlonega. The rooms are nicely appointed with antiques, and the breakfast was awesome! There is a nice Mountain View even from our room located on the lower floor! We were the only guests due to the lodge just opening from covid19 shutdown, but felt comfortable. The owner took precautions and was very nice to chat with during our breakfast.
Rented the Waterfall Cottage with my kids and hubby for Spring Break. We loved the Cottage as it was clean, and cozy! The view of the waterfall right from the Cottage was beautiful, felt relaxed, and amazing! We loved the fireplace, and the kitchen was equiped with everything you need! Kids were abel to go fishing, and explore the trail. It was nice to pull the kids away from the video games, and enjoy the outdoors! The owners (Tim & Diane), as well as Don were all very kind. Being able to have a glass of wine, enjoy the view, and relax = my kind of vacation! We will definately be back!
