Although I see it advertised for $75/night, we ended up paying over $433 for 3 nights over a last-minute Memorial Day weekend. Far too much for the no-frills hotel. The front desk staff was very welcoming & friendly. The pillows were the BEST ever! Room seemed clean but did have a weird smell. Relatively quiet. Lots of very well-lit parking. Great location. Good internet. They DID allow pets for a small $15/night fee. The free breakfast is ridiculous though. Not even worth the walk to the lobby! If I were on a budget & could get a room for the $75, I'd consider staying here again.

Room does not smell fresh, tried to use bathroom fan to pull fresh air in, not working well.
Advertising for breakfast, they have not had it since 2019 when covid hit. It has been almost 3 years, don't have any excuse not changing their description in trip advisor or booking.com.
So no breakfast, not even coffee or coffee pot in room.

This hotel is a decent hotel, but the management seemed dishonest, or at least not very customer friendly when we stayed here. We booked a room with the Super 8 Hotels 800 number for one night, at a reasonable rate. As we were checking in to the hotel, we got a call on our cell phone, making a change of plans necessary. We needed the room for an additional night. We were checking in at the time, and the person at the front desk told us that the rate for our room would be considerably more for the second night. I called the 800 number back, and they quoted me the cheaper price. When I told the person at the front desk this, she quickly shut down her computer, and said that the rates were as she had quoted. (the higher rate) I then tried to call the 800 number to book the lower rate, and was told that the hotel had closed down their computer so that the booking agent with Super 8 could not book us a room over the phone at the lower rate. It was too late to go anywhere else that night, but we checked out the next day, and stayed at the Econo Lodge, which although is undergoing some renovations, was very neat, clean and quite.

The motel is a long term stay with trash and belongings outside of the rooms. I went to stay their during my daughters orientation for UNG. When I drove up the manager was yelling at man in the parking lot to leave and several men were checking in and staring at me, making me very uncomfortable. I decided to not check in and told the receptionist I didn’t feel comfortable. He told me he understood and told me to call booking.com to cancel and they would cancel on their end. I followed up after by phone and he said it was taken care of. However, the motel charged me and when I called to dispute the manager said I didn’t give them a chance and yes they deal with homeless and people who can’t afford the place but they have cameras and I didn’t go into the room. He told me I was wrong for feeling that way and I would not receive a refund. Don’t waste your time trying to save money. This place should be shut down!

My buddies and I stay here all the time, it's definitely a better place under the new owners. It's not fancy, but it is clean, the staff is really nice and there is plenty of parking. It's off the main road, right behind a McDonalds.

Older motel but clean, well maintained. Very nice staff. Quiet. Don't be misled by the older reviews. Motel has apparently changed owners and is good, clean place at a budget price. Next door to a McDonalds for breakfast.

Very clean, staff is the best. If you’re looking for a clean room and clean bedding in the mountains this is it! Older motel but definitely loved it and we were snowed in for the day. Staff is the best! Bed was very comfortable. Will be staying here again!

Do yourself a favor and do not stay in this horrible motel:

I spent most of the night fighting bed bugs!

When I explained the situation to the Manager the next morning he basically implied that I was lying.

However, realizing how upset I was, he asked that I accompany his mother to check my room. After a brief inspection of the sheets (with blood splatter from the bugs I had squashed) she called him and talked in some Indian dialect which of course I didn't understand. When I went back to the reception area he reiterated the fact that there was just a little blood on the sheets and that it does not prove that there were bed bugs! I told him that whatever insects were in the room, they were biting me during my sleep and that I expected a refund of my money since I was up most of the night. He replied that I should have called and he would have moved me to another room and would not give me my money back! He then went on about the fact that they've been in the business for a very long time and that they've never had a bug problem. I guess if you keep denying the problem long enough it will magically disappear... He never apologized to me for this hellish night and kept on treating me in the most un-customer friendly way.

I will not even comment on the mold in the bathroom, the holes in the ceiling or the stains on the pillows and sheets.

You can almost make out the drive thru customer orders at the McDonalds accross the parking lot but the smell of sewage coming from the restaurant makes you want to get in your room quickly. The stray cats hanging around the dumpster don't really add to the charm either. Upon entering your room, the first thing you notice outside of a couple flys and random insects is the smell of cleaning supplies. Normally this might be a good sign but it is so overwhelming that you can only imagine what had happened in that room since the last Gold Rush hit Dahlonega. We planned to stay for a couple of days but moved to a different hotel after one LONG night. The pool was closed for repairs. I can't comment on breakfast as we just wanted to get off the property as soon as possible. The man at the desk was ok but seemed to be shocked at the conditions I spoke of like he was managing the Ritz Cartlon. I realize it might be inexpensive, but only choose if the homeless shelter is full and your car is not an option.
