I was excited to take my friend from Colorado to this restaurant that served traditional Southern food. Unfortunately we were both terribly disappointed. When we walked in it looked a little dark and dingy but that didn't surprise me as that seems to be the case with older homes. We had to pay for our meal before going downstairs to...

There is nothing negative to say about the cleanliness. It is an old historic hotel and the rooms vary in size. Understandable for an old hotel.Great location but do not expect much as it relates to southern hospitality. Be ready vacate your room by 11. What is your hurry... take your hat ... don't let the door hit your behind....

We had a king suite in the carriage house of The Smith House Inn. It was so spacious, so beautifully decorated, so comfortable, and the bathroom was gorgeous!!! I took advantage of the jacuzi tub. The lighting and speaker system around the bed was a surprise. Super comfortable bed. Wine glasses and ceramic mugs for coffee. Interesting reading material. They...

The Smith Hotel is in a great spot to cruise around town on foot. It's a very old home that's a restored hotel. The rooms were large and the beds seemed comfortable until you went to sleep. They are very old mattresses with body indentations, with a feather topper on to cover it. It is a great place to stay...

Had read the reviews and had to try this place. We were there late on Sunday and it's every bit of Southern comfort food that you can imagine. Plus a large dose of friendly waitstaff. This is a must for anybody traveling in the area!!

Great location, awesome bed, awful breakfast. Best night's sleep I've had. Wish I could have taken the bed home with me. Tought lugging luggage up the stairs. For a place so well know for it's home cooking, the "breakfast' was a disgrage.

Lovely hotel, a block from the square in Dahlonega GA. Nice rooms and friendly staff. Great shower, water pressure could be a little better but it is a historic building. Good amenities in the room. Furnishings are beautiful. We were not there for lunch but hear it's amazing. Wish they offered breakfast as well. Definitely would return. Thanks!

We stayed at The Chestatee Villas, just across the parking area from the main Hotel. Our villa had two bedroom suites each with a full bath; a full kitchen and a living room, and windows everywhere. Since the villas are on the top floor, there are some stairs to climb yet we had a great view of the town from...

Our impromptu family reunion was accommodated in the Smith house and the Thomas house which is a part of the complex. Best beds ever and top notch service. We were just sorry that the restaurant was not open during our stay.

It was mom's birthday, so we surprised her with a trip to the Smith House for lunch. We arrived around noon on a Thursday. Not very crowded until around 12:30. The food arrived hot and plentiful. The okra and mashed taters were the best. Fried chicken and roast beef were superb. The strawberry shortcake was delicious. Mom licked her plate...
