Detailed Reviews
Mountain Top Lodge was a lovely treat and unexpected surprise. This Inn was sold and remodeled last year so you can ignore the old outdated pictures that might be seen on this site. We were originally reluctant to stay as we were not sure of the accommodations but so pleased with our choice to reserve here. The new owners have done an excellent job to upgrade the rooms, décor, common areas etc. I cannot say enough good things other than this B & B feels like home. The staff is welcoming and friendly to all guests who enter the front door here. They offer wine and cheese social hour in the afternoon along with a delicious breakfast each morning. A common kitchen area provides a refrigerator, coffee machines and stocked with items in an honor bar if you need a soda or snack. The location is quietly perched in a beautiful area just 5 minutes from downtown. All the rooms are nicely decorated and very comfortable for a wonderful night of sleep. The only downfall I could mention if that the bathrooms are very small. It sounds like they will be remodeling them in the future although they will likely still be quite tiny. Do not let this deter you, as a stay here is wonderful anyway. Do note that the rooms have no TV but there is a nice loft area with library and large screen TV if you feel compelled to watch something rather than enjoy the natural beauty in the area. There is so much to do with wineries, hiking trails or taking a stroll in the quaint downtown. In warmer weather you can opt to enjoy the large deck and outdoor firepits. The Mountain Top Inn is working hard to establish a great new place to stay and they are doing everything right to create a special experience for their guests. We will be back!

In planning our first getaway together, my girlfriend and I got a referral to the Mountain Top Inn from a B&B owner also in Dahlonega whose rooms were booked. We were blessed by the spot-on recommendation!
Paige and her staff were delightful in every interaction. Our room (Green Pastures) was pristinely clean, and our stay was perfect. Breakfast in a B&B is a big deal, and Chef Paige (if she's not, she presents like one!), hit a homerun with her waffle french toast, thick sliced bacon, lighter take on home fries, and a lovely sampling of fresh fruit and granola over yogurt. Orange juice in champagne flutes, and good coffee served in a thoughtfully designed and minimalist dining room downstairs added to our charming visit. Our perfect getaway, served up in the largest and newest B&B in Dahlonega. We will be returning to relive the magic!

I have a family of 4, we stayed in the quad, it is seperate from the main lodge. Rooms are for 2 people only. Beds were super soft. Both rooms had a back patio with table and chair set, a great place to just take in all mother nature has to offer, especially in the cool mornings. Rooms included TV, microwave, coffee pot, coffee cups, wine glasses & minifridge. If you forgot a hairdryer, shampoo or conditioner, they got you covered. Breakfast was amazing! Paige's food was so good, you will be asking for her recepies to duplicate at home. My family really enjoyed this trip. We will deffinately make this one of our getaways going forward.

I recently spent 4 nights at the Mountain Top Lodge to attend a business meeting & retreat. What a treat this was! I stayed in The Breedlove Cabin which was clean, comfortable and well appointed with a private deck that provides beautiful views of the sunsets. The lodge and grounds are beautiful, the food tasty, and lots of extras available to meet the needs of modern travelers. The Mountain Top Lodge was well suited for our business meeting and retreat. Heather and her team provide warm and friendly service. Highly recommend the Mountain Top Lodge!

The moment you arrive, you are greeted warmly by a terrific staff whose only goal is to make sure you have a pleasant stay.
When we booked the room, intended to stay at a resort where we could walk and enjoy the natural beauty of the area. Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate. But, the staff, especially Amanda and Ally, understood our disappointment and made numerous suggestions for alternative things to do, including places to explore and eat.
The only glitch with the reservation came a day before we were to arrive. The manager called and said there was a broken pipe in the cabin that we had reserved. In keeping with the tradition of Southern hospitality, he arranged for a different room that included a newly renovated bathroom. In addition, we were greeted with a gift bag which was totally unexpected and unnecessary, but appreciated.
The rooms are inviting and the bed was very comfortable. Although we did not stay in room number two because it had been previously booked, we were able to peek inside before the other guest arrived and saw that it had a sitting room that opened to an outdoor balcony. It is one of the rooms I would certainly recommend.
And, if you are looking for more privacy, the three cabins on the property are secluded, but only a short distance from the main house.
Finally, I should mention the food. The breakfasts were first rate. There was always a fruit cup followed by a main course of homemade biscuits with eggs and bacon or something similar. Every evening the staff prepared a beautiful charcuterie board which was accompanied by a glass of very good wine.
Dahlonega is a picturesque small town and I would recommend staying at the Mountain Top Lodge whenever you are in the area.

What an incredible place! Stayed there for the weekend with a group of friends and it felt like we were at home! The lobby/lounge/hallways connect the rooms in a warm an inviting manner so that guests can relax and enjoy being with each other, and not just isolated to their rooms. The building is very well kept and comfortable inside, and the staff is top notch, catering to your every need with true southern charm. Food was incredible, it was very hard to think about leaving. This is a fantastic place to visit with your family, for a work retreat, or just for a weekend getaway to the mountains.

We just spent the weekend at Mountain Top Lodge while exploring Dahlonega. The Lodge and its staff were very welcoming. The pictures on the website accurately capture the rooms/common space. The breakfasts were delicious and very plentiful. A special touch was wine and cheese every afternoon. The bathroom are slightly outdated but I understand they are in the process of updating them. The Lodge is very centrally located to a number of wineries and about a 12 min drive to town. I would highly recommend the property.

We highly recommend the Mountain Top! Paige and her staff are incredible! When we arrived on our first day, we were greeted warmly and offered a glass of wine with cheese, crackers and an assortment of snacks. The breakfasts were unbelievable, and so delicious! So much food! The area is gorgeous and so quiet! Just a short drive into Dehlonega. We stayed in room 14 which was in a separate building with 3 other rooms. We had our own patio area overlooking the beautiful woods. All the amenities you can think of! If you get a chance to enjoy this beautiful place, do it! You’ll be glad you did!

I glanced over several rooms and ultimately chose the one that looked the cleanest. The rooms I saw really needed a good thorough deep-cleaning. I kept finding various colors and types of hair throughout the room and bathroom that were not mine, and the tub/shower needed a good scrubbing before I could feel comfortable making use thereof (maybe housekeeping had done the best they could do).
I was told upon check-in that there would be a chocolate in my lobby mailbox each day, yet I did not receive one on days 2 or 3. Breakfast was fresh and tasteful the first morning, but cold and barely edible on the 2nd morning.
They failed to send a bill to my email after check-in, and I had not received any type of bill or receipt as of 5 days after checking out so I called back to request one again. While the manager Sean was pleasant and responsive to my requests, the problem is that any requests had to be made in the first place; as these were general basic things that should have already been handled naturally in a setting of professional quality service. Maybe I stayed on an off week??

We held a communication/DISC retreat at this location for our small business and all employees. Everyone had a wonderful time. The property is isolated and quiet and the surroundings lovely. The rooms are comfortable and food and service was wonderful. Some times some rooms can be chilly or warm so plan accordingly with the proper clothing. The meeting room was comfortable, the meals delicious and it really was a great location for our company retreat.

Hi - maybe 15 minutes. It's a nice drive and there wasn't a lot of traffic when we were there.
