This old southern property is gorgeous set on 25 lush acres. The bed in the downstairs bedroom is very comfortable. Everything was spotlessly clean. We arrived after midnight and greeted by the owner, Melody, who couldn't do enough for us. Thank you Melody for welcoming us to your beautiful home and cooking us such an amazingly delicious southern breakfast, organising our travel route with us, and for providing us with delicious home made cookies for the road.

After looking at a number of sites we fell in love with Mountain Laurel Farm right away. I put down a deposit the same day I got a tour. Melody was always so friendly, which is really important with the stress of wedding planning. Our wedding day had perfect weather which really highlighted the beauty of the property. We had a larger wedding party, around 180 guests, the venue seemed to still accommodate that size well, although we did rent a tent for half our guests to dine under.

There really are few places like Mountain Laurel Farm. I believe it is over 100 years old and comes with so much character that is hard to find. It has a elegant yet down to earth feel to it. There are amazing picture opportunities all around the farm.

We did get some discounted rates which made the value of the venue well worth it to us.

Melody was very easy to work with, helped us whenever we needed it, and always had a smile.

I highly recommend this venue if you want a beautiful mountain/farm location. The only thing to beware of is if you have a guest list over 100 people you will need to rent a tent to serve as a rain plan.

Beautiful rustic wedding venue that has all the amenities. Remodeled barn has been updated to be the same yet better. Original spaces have been left but it now has cement floors and electricity, perfect smaller rooms and larger spaces. Tables set outside are magical at night with the lights. If you want a country wedding this is the place. Beautiful hills rise all around.

I wish I could give Mountain Laurel Farm 10 stars-- my boyfriend and I had an awesome 2 night stay here! From the moment we checked in, Melody spent over an hour of her time giving us a tour and making recommendations based on our interests. The farm is absolutely breathtaking, and we enjoyed petting the donkeys and roasting marshmallows on the fire pit. The farm is located about 10 minutes from the major hiking trails and wineries around the Cleveland/Helen area... great location. But most of all, we will be returning because of Melody's top-notch hospitality and genuine interest in her guests. You will leave Mountain Laurel Farm filled up with a delicious breakfast and with a new friend in Melody!

We knew right away we wanted a rustic wedding, speaking to both our childhoods. With my family from Virginia, my groom’s family from Alabama, and our love of North Georgia, we zeroed in on several properties throughout this area. After visiting over five properties, all were either too rustic or too cookie cutter perfect. On our final site visit, we knew we had found THE place at Mountain Laurel Farm.

The farm is located just inside the Chattahoochee National Forest which provides so many scenic views. Driving up, you’re just taken away by the tranquil peace of the property. The barn itself is quite rustic, but it’s so charming and still provides the basic necessities (restrooms, electricity). Although there is no climate control, we had no issue with the heat on our wedding date after opening all the doors and windows and adding a few household fans. I do wish there had been more resources in the catering room; I’m hoping Melody can make some upgrades there in the future (running water/industrial sink, ice machine, larger fridge/freezer). However, our caterer had no issues with making the catering area work for them.

Melody, the property owner/manager, was incredibly easy to work with. She was so patient throughout the process, quickly answering all my questions and concerns. She has so much décor and so many props and furniture available at the barn, along with her linen rentals, you really only need to show up with your food and beverage. She had lots of good ideas about how to set-up the barn so that it would maximize space for our guests.

We loved having access to the farmhouse for the wedding day. Although no one lodged there, it was a welcome place for me and my bridesmaids to finish getting ready, as well as a cool spot for our wedding party and us to rest after the ceremony and before photos. It was fun to look out onto the ceremony space before the ceremony and after and see all of our family and friends gathering for our special day.

The property is located a short distance from a major interstate, and just off a main highway, with close access to resources (grocery store, entertainment and cultural activities, department chain stores). This was helpful to our friends and families, all traveling in from out of town. Most of our guests made a weekend of the trip, visiting Helen, wineries, water activities, and all the other things the area has to offer. There are many rental cabins close-by and we also held a block of hotel rooms in Helen which was convenient for our guests.

If you are looking for a charming rustic location with wonderful amenities and breathtaking views, I highly recommend Mountain Laurel Farm for any wedding or social occasion!

Mountain Laurel Farm is ran by two sisters, Melody & Darla. The farm is family owner and has been the spot of a major motion film as well as commercials. The ladies started restoring the family farm and have done a spectacular job. They will treat you like family & love sharing the history of their farm & area with their guests. I would highly recommend a stay-country atmosphere with high class experience!

Finding a perfect B & B is hard these days. Finding an true historical one is even harder. The Innkeeper has put so much love into restoring her family's farmhouse that it immediately feels like home. Three rooms upstairs (shared bath) and one downstairs means its cozy and not crowded. I like that. The downstairs is so massive you can get lost unwinding. Melody cooks up local goods in the mornings and then you're off to discover Cleveland and the surrounding area. It's magic, I say. Plus, its affordable and if I were looking for the perfect romantic, rustic wedding setting, this would be it. Don't miss a chance to come home.

My husband and 14 year old son and I were going to North Georgia for a fly fishing trip and stumbled upon Mountain Laurel Farm near Helen, GA. The farm has been a part of the owner's family for a long time and there seems to be a lot of history here. Melody is the one who runs the B and B and she was very helpful in every way. The rooms are neat, spotless and it feels like you are at a friend's house when you are there. The barn is beautiful and I can imagine that it is a wonderful place to have a wedding!!

My Mother and I stayed three nights during a weekend wedding celebration and were delighted with the experience. Clean and elegantly decorated with that warm and cozy feeling, the farmhouse was a pleasure to stay in during our trip to the mountains. Gorgeous views from the porches and windows of the pastures and surrounding area. Melody took excellent care of us during our stay with wonderful food and conversation. I plan to come back with friends and my boyfriend soon.

"We were shown all of the rooms and could have happily stayed in any of them!! Melody has thoughtfully decorated each one with family mementoes and it is very sweet! Although the policy is no children, she was very accomodating for our son, who she happily agreed to let come."
