Best Western Plus Ruby's Inn is often celebrated for its close proximity to Bryce Canyon and its satisfying breakfast buffet, although opinions diverge when it comes to the hotel's overall value, with many guests feeling the prices are steep given the quality on offer. While the cleanliness and comfort of the rooms are frequently acknowledged, the need for updates and the occurrence of noise disturbances have been points of contention.
The service quality paints a varied picture, with some visitors commending the staff, and others left wanting more attentive care.

Detailed Reviews
Best Western Plus but not sure what the “Plus” is for.
We stayed two nights in the Ponderosa building in a family suite—one queen in a small bedroom and two queens in the main room. Check-in & check-out were efficient.
The room was very dark and dingy, even with all the lamps on. The plastic tub insert was stained and yellowed from a lot of use. The drain was clogged so 10 minutes into the shower you were standing in a couple of inches of water.
Our room was on the first floor so we heard our neighbors above walking & running (as kids do) as well as the showers and toilets. If you’re a light sleeper, bring ear plugs.
The window in the bedroom was unlocked. I’m glad we checked the windows before left the room after checking in because it turns out all of them were unlocked.
However, it was nice to have a fridge and microwave in the room to prepare our own meals because we weren’t ready to dine in the community yet. We did pick up breakfast bags which was convenient for our early morning hikes. There were two offerings: a hot breakfast bag (breakfast burrito) or a cold breakfast bag (yogurt). Both came with a granola bar and fruit. Come to think of it, the “plus” might be the free breakfast.
After 5 hours on the trails, it was nice to be able to use the outdoor pool and spa (located in the RV/campground portion of the complex). Another benefit of getting on the trails early is to avoid others at the park and pool!
The complex has a general store, laundromat and restaurant on site for convenience. We also mailed out some postcards from the post office.
On our next visit to Bryce Canton we will probably try to secure a reservation at the lodge inside the park or try the other Ruby property which appears to be newer.

I've stayed here before, as part of a group, and think that this is a decent hotel for all, but mostly for families. Several different buildings make up the complex, but it is probably best to get a room in the main lodge, itself. The facilities are here, like the indoor pool, exercise alcove, sit down restaurant and mercantile. There's also a quick service burger, pizza, and fries place across the parking that might work for those not wanting a full meal or waitstaff service. My room faced west, overlooking the parking and the maintenance area. But it did capture the sunset. I had a fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. What I didn't like was that housekeeping was on request only; though they were very prompt when called. They also offered free bottled water on the in-room guest services directory, but I had to go through management to get it (it was Wal Mart brand so I suspect they gave me their own personal bottle). Bed pillows are the square type. Not comfortable for me. Activities are mostly in full swing and Bryce Canyon NP is open with far fewer tourists than usual. A bus shuttle will take you into the park and back every fifteen minutes or so. Or you can drive. Parking shouldn't be an issue now. This region of Utah is mask optional, probably because the locals don't appear to be susceptible to the virus. But there are loads of California plates here, so I'm not sure it's the locals transmitting the disease you have to worry about. So take care especially where people tend to congregate in crowded fashion. You might get a cheaper rate if you book at the Bryce Pines Lodge, which is shuttered. I was told by a friend that they accepted the reservation and then moved him into the Ruby's complex at a lower rate than listed. But not in the main lodge.

Stayed 4 nights while visiting Bryce and surrounding state parks. We knew coming in that there would be no room service and food options throughout the area are limited due to COVID-19. Paid 149.00 for Sat night and 120.00 thereafter for an "upgraded" main lodge room. This upgrade included dog food on the floor, very dated decor, dripping faucet and a jetted tub that had a hole in it. Staff were not particularly friendly and while some wore masks, some didn't. Included hot breakfast at the restaurant consisted of eggs, toast (the tastiest item,) undercooked bacon and two little hashbrowns. This was the same for every day. Got the sack breakfast one morning which had an unrecognizable, tiny packaged pastry, an orange and cup of yogurt only.
On the bright side there was a nice fireworks display on 4th of July evening at no charge and the room was large. Ours faced the indoor pool which was constantly packed with kids and never seemed to be cleaned other than the towels being picked up the next day. We were given one bar of soap for the tub and one for the bathroom sink and 4 towels. When we asked for our trash to be taken away and given a another bar of soap we never received a knock on the door to give the trash to "maintenance" but instead some trash bags were left outside hours later with a plastic bag full of every soap they had.
Sorry but we cannot recommend this place.

Hotel's Favorite
Ruby's Inn is very convenient for our annual family reunion. Great history behind the founding and development of the property by Ruby Syrett, which is displayed in the lodge. And, of course located at the entrance to Bryce Canyon National Park. How could one lose by staying here? If you have a choice, stay in the main lodge versus the outlying accommodations. A bit more costly, but worth it. The included buffet breakfast is excellent.

This hotel is huge--more like a resort with a big gift shop, pool/hot tub, full restaurant, mailbox, and at least a couple hundred rooms. The shuttle to Bryce Canyon stops here, and you are only a short ride to the entrance of the park. The cons are that the rooms are a little dated, the second-floor rooms don't have elevators (we had bikes with us that we had to carry up, as well as heavy travel bags), and the restaurant dinner menu didn't have a lot of options and was fairly expensive. However, the hot breakfast is included in the hotel price, and includes breakfast meats, scrambled eggs, waffles or pancakes, apples, oranges, bananas, some canned fruits, cottage cheese, biscuits/gravy, juice and coffee. The rooms are dated, and the huge size made it feel a bit impersonal, but you can't beat the location.

We stayed here for one night while visiting Bryce Canyon as part of a 5 day bicycle trip.
Room: typical motel set up, dark room with poor lighting and a window that opened up to a parking lot and walkway where anyone could look into the room. Two queen beds, small square pillows, bathroom adequate with 2 sinks, one in bath area and one in main room. The main problem besides lighting is that the room had a musty odor most likely from the carpet or AC unit. I don’t understand why motels don’t replace carpets when remodeling with tile or vinyl plank flooring which is more hygienic and easier to clean. Especially in an area where hikers can drag in dirt and who knows what else. I don’t know about other parts of the motel but our room was in dire need of remodeling.
There is a well appointed gift shop, post office and a mini market. Though the mini market did not have many healthy options, it did have frozen microwaveable meals and typical processed foods.
Dining: breakfast is Buffett style offering typical American fare. My wife is a vegan and the only option was really runny oatmeal, canned fruit bar and a few pieces of fresh fruit. No non dairy options were seen. Today many people are switching to plant based diets and to not have any vegetarian or vegan options is disappointing.
The one plus is that it is right outside of Bryce Canyon and a shuttle stop.
Overall, based on what we saw, the rooms and restaurant could use a serious upgrade. If we returned to this area we would look for a better option.

If visiting Bryce, choose the newer Best Western! The Ruby Inn BW shows it’s age! The beds were comfortable if you like soft, the tub in shower squeaks and moans loudly while stepping in and moving around, heat/air didn’t work great, but the room was ok for 2 nights. The buffet breakfast may have been good, but we choose the grab n go sack because no one was required to wear a mask while touching the serving utensils at the buffet. The sack breakfast’s yogurt was not cold, old apple, granola bar and choice of water, oj or the weak coffee, served by an unfriendly man. Small grocery store on site was expensive and nothing looked fresh. We bought frozen dinners to heat up in micro in room. It was an ok place to stay for a night or two, we canceled and left the 3rd night. There are only 2 BW to choose from near the park, if available, go with the newer one.

This is a huge resort within minutes of Bryce Canyon so it's totally understandable why so many people stay here. I was impressed with the large store for gift items along w/the grocery store that had pretty much everything you need, plus a post office. Our room was older but had comfortable beds and when the tv remote stopped working someone came right away to fix the problem, so that was nice. I was not impressed with the restaurant, it was always full of people, no social distancing, and people were using the same utensils over and over at the salad bar. We were not comfortable eating inside the restaurant so got dinner to go and it was pricey but good. We also did not feel comfortable eating breakfast at the restaurant so got the hot items to go which included a delicious breakfast burrito. There are shops right across the street and basically everything you need within walking distance. I kept an eye on the room price after I booked it and l was happy to see that it went down over 50% so I was able to cancel and rebook for a lot cheaper and felt the price I paid was fair, the original price would have been too high. Most of the staff and guests I saw were wearing masks (except inside the restaurant,) and there was hand sanitizer everywhere.

My wife and I came to Bryce Canyon, and stayed here one night. We had originally planned on two nights, but was able to cancel the last night. It is not a bad place to stay. However, I guess we are a little spoiled to hotels being #1, inside rooms, not the older style of, “open your door and your outside”…. There are several sections of rooms spread out across the large parking lot. Again, it wasn’t bad, rooms are older, but was just not our cup of tea. There is close access to the Park shuttle as well.
The check in was quick and easy, and they gave us free vouchers for the restaurant connected to the hotel for two days for breakfast. The breakfast was fine. It seemed like a cruise ship during breakfast. Just the way everything was set up. We ate lunch there the day before and it was just okay.
It seems that everything in this city is owned by Ruby’s Inn. There is a gift shop and small grocery store attached as well. Just a little too touristy, again, just not our cup of tea. Across the road is a small strip mall of more touristy gifts and ice cream shop.
We did go to the rodeo on Wednesday night. That was fun. Felt like something out of a movie or Yellowstone. That was good entertainment. They have one each night beginning at 7-8:30pm. $14/adult and $9/children. They allow kids to try and be a real rodeo cowboy. They will pay kids $5 for them to ride a sheep. They provide all the gear. Again, we really enjoyed it.
We just didn’t feel the need to stay here longer than 1 night due to there not being much in town and as far as Bryce Canton, really you can see what you need to see in 1 day.
If you are looking for a more modern hotel and not a motel feeling, I would recommend staying across the road at the newer Best Western Plus. It looked like more to what we are accustomed to.
I should note, the staff did allow us to cancel our last nights stay and they did refund our money, so we did appreciate that.

I came here for a weekend with my grandparents. We had rooms right next to each other. My room was ready, however the lady who checked us in said that a “inspector” who checks to make sure cleaning protocols have been followed due to Covid-19 hasn’t inspected your room. However it is ready. At 4pm my grandparents room still was not ready. We waited in my room, where the room has a funny smell like smoke, and things don’t seem as orderly as they should be. The phone is also dusty, which I probably wouldn’t have noticed if we weren’t told to call and check in with the front desk about the other room.
We are on the second level. There are no ice machines on the second level. Thankfully we didn’t spend too much time in our rooms. However a bit disappointed at the lack of detail.
The free breakfast was nothing fancy. The bacon was awful. The Cowboys Buffet Steak Room was okay. The first night we ate dinner there, my grandmother wanted a loaded baked potato. The cheese on it was hard and it was cold. There is a salad bar where you are expected to wear gloves when you serve yourself.
While the hotel and restaurant wasn’t great, the rodeo and the show at Ebenezer’s Barn and Grill was amazing! Friendly staff, great music and so cool to see the brave souls on the bucking broncs, cows, and the horses!

You're fine. Rooms have outdoor halls and no connection to other rooms via ventilation.
No, there is no outside pool. It would probably be a bit on the cool side to have one for all seasons other than the summer. The inn is over 7000 feet in elevation. The heated indoor pool and jacuzzi are good though.

Not a bad idea as they have tour buses coming through. We had no problem getting a table but we were earlier in the season. One restaurant (buffet) you can, the other doesn’t accept reservations at Ruby’s.
