The Overlook Inn is a peaceful bed and breakfast getaway in the North Georgia mountains, offering stunning views of Chattahoochee National Forest. Straddling Fort Mountain between Chatsworth & Ellijay, this a quiet escape to a slower pace, but still convenient for weekend getaways from Atlanta or Chattanooga. The Inn offers 6 guest rooms – each with unique personalities and amenities, including private porches, hot tubs, and gas fireplaces. Included in your stay is an elegant 3-course homemade breakfast, coffee, tea and assorted beverages, homemade sweets each afternoon, and even a wine & cheese hour on weekends. When away from the Inn exploring the area, you’ll find quaint mountain towns with boutique shops and excellent dining options, off-the-beaten-path hiking and biking trails, horseback riding, and several nearby wineries. Rest and recharge, or stay active – both options await.

Detailed Reviews
We have been coming to this place for over 15 years and recently there were new owners, Bill and Nicole. Our experience continued to be fantastic and the food we had for breakfast was some of the most amazing food we have ever had at this location. Every morning was wonderful! The place was also incredibly clean and it is very apparent that Bill and Nicole do everything they can to make their guests feel special. We will continue to come here as we have for many years. We would highly recommend you give them a try.

Thank you both for your lovely words! Our goal was to update and polish off some things here when we bought the Inn a year ago, but also to be mindful not to change too much for the Inn's previous guests. Glad we were able to maintain the comfort you expected and happy we get to keep you as future guests inside our home. We look forward to seeing you again in the near future. -Bill and Nicole

Bill and Nicole were so nice and accommodating. They greet you at checkin. They are there to offer advice and help as needed. The establishment is very clean and neat. The amenities are all new and worked smoothly. The rooms are very well decorated, private, clean, and neat. The 4 post bed is very comfortable. Sheets are super soft and smooth. Mini fridge in the room with water, glasses, wine opener, roku tv, gas furnace, coffee maker, wardrobe, double doors leading out to private screened in porch with a valley view. Private porch has two smooth rolling rocking chairs and a 2 person hot tub. 30 feet below the screened in porch is a seating area with a fire pit overlooking the rolling hills in my pictures. The common area beautiful and spacious. Great views. Bill is an awesome cook!!!! Breakfast and dinner is offered daily. The provide a menu with food options and Bill cooks while Nicole serves. 2miles away is an amazing open overlook of the valley and distant mountains. 20 minutes away are the Emory Creek hiking trails. Fort mountain state park is less than 2 miles. Ellijay is 20 minutes away with shops (antiques) restaurants, and vineyards. As the name implies the overlook is very nice. See my attached pics for food, views, common areas, inn and room. I will definitely return.

The Overlook Inn is one of the best Bed and Breakfast we've stayed at. Nicole and Bill were exceptional host. The breakfast was absolutely delicious and very abundant. Bill is one heck of a cook. The cheese and wine tasting was a nice extra touch to an already wonderful exlerience. Nicole and Bill were very accommodating for anything special we asked of them. Nicole was sweet and packed up our left over granola to take on our hike. They have tea and coffee in your room and Bill even gave me some honey for my tea.
The Mooneye room was very spacious with a comfortable bed and a private hot tub on the private screened in porch that overlooked the grounds and mountains. The dining area had beautiful views of the mountains with a fireplace and music playing.
We definitely plan on visiting here again.

Absolutely wonderful hosts Bill and Nicole! They see to every need you may have and they are such an adorable couple. My husband and I had a peek at all the rooms and each one of them are cozy, comfortable and clean. It was hard to choose, cannot go wrong with any one of them. We loved the quiet and peacefulness of the inn. Very quiet location between 2 towns. 10 to 15 minutes away to restaurants however Bill and Nicole are great cooks and provided us with an excellent dinner with wine at night as well as a fantastic , filling breakfast. Such a fantastic setting with stunning mountain views. Beautiful fireplace to sit and relax by. Coffee, tea and other refreshments available anytime you want and Nicole makes homemade cookies every day. We definitely hope to be back and enjoy this inn and all the hiking and nearby wineries.

We had the best time again staying at the Inn! Bill and Nicole are the best hosts and the food was incredible. We feel like family when we come and we can’t wait to come again. We tried out the Prince Madoc room and it was spacious, welcoming, and so relaxing with the rocking chairs outside. With 2 young kids at home, this is exactly what we needed. This is our second time visiting and we ordered dinner ahead ( must be at least 3-4 days so don’t forget!) and we tried different entrees and they have all been wonderful. Dinner includes their cowboy caviar, entree, side, dessert, and a bottle of wine or champagne. It was well worth the money. We are celebrating my birthday and they even sang to me with a candle! Every detail is so intentional and lovely. Do not skip the amazing 3 course breakfast. We were even fortunate to see a bear for a moment before he went on his way. It’s a great location as we went to major tourists locations - like Blue Ridge , Dahlonega, Ellijay, etc. We will be back!

My husband and I enjoyed this Inn-it was very romantic and the owners are wonderful. The view in the dining room/living room area was unbelievable. All of the accommodations were fantastic. We stayed in the Celestial Room which has its own bathroom, beautiful shower, and the separate den area which also has a whirlpool large enough for two people right in the bedroom. We also booked dinner since we were there on a Sunday evening, and a bottle of wine was included. The food was delicious and we couldn’t finish it all. I highly recommend this place!

With all the things going on in the world, we said, we needed a break! We called and was able to get a couple nights at The Overlook Inn B&B and it was perfect for us. The host were wonderful, they saw to all our needs and gave great advice on what to see and eat in the town nearby. But to wake up every morning to the prepared breakfast was heavenly. The view from the sitting/breakfast room is perfect. The rooms are the perfect size and love the charm it has. If you feel you need to get away than I totally recommend a visit.

Absolutely loved this bed and breakfast lodge. They have great views, cozy sitting areas, warm atmosphere. Bill cooks up delicious meals and he and Nicole help the guests feel like friends. Great place to get away and relax and close to Fort Mountain State Park if you want to go hiking.

We stayed here at the end of May. We were fortunate to have beautiful weather to clearly see the North Georgia mountains from the large windows in the common room. My new husband and I took advantage of The Overlook Inn's Elopement Package. Bill and Nicole made sure that we had the perfect day. From the delicious breakfast, to arranging the officiant, they oversaw everything. They provided champagne and cake, made us a fireside dinner for two that was pure bliss, and recommended an amazing local photographer to document our simple ceremony.
We stayed in the Celestial Suite. The room was clean, well-maintained, and quiet. The jacuzzi was divine. It truly was a perfect day and we would highly recommend this experience for any couple looking for a stress-free wedding.

Checkboxes on our list were:
Away from “Busy”
Relaxing atmosphere
A place we could stay and enjoy; no need to leave,
Hot tub and Hiking.
The Overlook Inn checked all of our boxes and some we didn’t know we had!! First up; the view! Wow! Both sides of the Inn face a view that takes your breath away AND the common sitting area boasts a glass wall facing the rolling ridge of Blue Ridge. Next, our evening charcuterie, Pinot Grigio, hot tub and crisp mountain air gave us exactly what we had hoped to achieve!
Morning came and what was anticipated to be a quaint breakfast was actually a table for two in front of the mountain facing window. Homemade granola, zucchini bread, coffee, hand squeezed orange juice, dried fruits, baked lavender peaches with a fresh cream topping. The main breakfast course was your choice of made from scratch blueberry pancakes, apple chicken sausage/bacon, or an avocado, tomato, egg, guyere cheese, and topped with a chipotle aioli drizzle. Tonight we have a fireside dinner for two. YOU.MUST.EXPERIENCE.THIS!!!
